The process of discipling youth in contemporary society significantly diverges from the approaches utilized in previous generations. The current landscape is characterized by unique challenges, diverse worldviews, and complex relationship dynamics, which collectively create an environment that may be unfamiliar to traditional church discipleship efforts. This paper aims to elucidate the most pertinent elements of discipleship concerning youth and young adults. The analysis presented herein is grounded in a review of contemporary literature and empirical data derived from a survey of young adults regarding their experiences and perspectives on discipleship.

God’s revelation in Jesus Christ both discloses and obligates, presenting an alternate view of reality to be seen and an ethical command to be done. The Gospel of John weaves the motifs of “seeing” and “doing” into a single disciple-making process. It aims to transform a person’s identity, worldview, and understanding of God before inviting ethical emulation. This sequence evokes a moral response, calling disciples to do “just as” Jesus and His Father have done, particularly in love, unity, mission, and otherworldliness. Kaufman hinted that it is an attachment relationship, asserting that God is the ultimate attachment figure. Unfortunately, he did not articulate a theology of attachment. While research in the psychology of religion research has shown that God is perceived as an attachment figure and that He engages in attachment behaviors with humans, a theology of attachment has yet to be developed. T his study explores the role of mentorship and peer-led initiatives in fostering spiritual growth among Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) youth, drawing insights from the epistle of 1 John. Adolescence presents spiritual challenges due to societal pressures, media influences, and peer expectations. The research highlights mentorship as providing spiritual guidance and intergenerational learning, while peer-led initiatives promote mutual encouragement and accountability. The study evaluates program effectiveness, challenges, and solutions using a case study survey approach among 61 Ghanaian SDA youth, ages 15–25. Discipleship Includes Both Acceptance And Change, Steve Case

Discipleship—following Jesus—includes both acceptance and change. Acceptance from Christ transforms the orientation of humans to follow the God who initiates and completes our acceptance. But discipleship also involves change—sometimes radical and sometimes gradual. The transformation that began with acceptance continues with change. An emphasis of one over the other, or worse, ignoring or denying one of these two dynamics, results in a skewed discipleship. Both acceptance and change remain supernatural actions in the God-human relationship of discipleship.

Some of the aging population do not meet the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines for physical activity. This is due to numerous barriers: pain, fear of injury, and limitation with mobility. Underwater treadmill (UWT) training, a specific type of aquatic exercise, supports cardiovascular and muscular health while providing low impact on the joints. Underwater treadmill allows the exercise intensity to be manipulated through the depth and the speed. The digestive system is essential for nutrient absorption, processing, and waste elimination. The expression of many genes and physiological processes within this system exhibits a 24-h rhythmicity. Background: While obesity is a well-established risk factor for slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), limited data exist regarding its impact on postoperative complication rates. This study aimed to evaluate the association between obesity and complications following SCFE treatment.

Methods: We queried a large national database for pediatric patients who underwent treatment for SCFE between June 2005 and June 2025. We divided this cohort into patients with obesity and patients without obesity. We matched the cohorts with a propensity scoring algorithm on a one-to-one basis, resulting in 1,175 patients in each group. Ascaris infection-ascariasis-is the most common human parasitic worm infection worldwide and induces damage and cellular changes within the stomach. Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium of the stomach that also causes gastric pathologies globally. Importantly, Ascaris, H. pylori, and gastric diseases all disproportionately affect individuals in resource-limited settings. However, the associations between ascariasis, H. pylori infection, and gastric diseases remain relatively unexplored. We synthesized the existing research associating Ascaris infection with H. pylori infection and/or gastric pathologies. Introduction: Rare, deleterious germline variants are key contributors to inherited lung cancer (LC) risk. The Genetic Epidemiology of LC Consortium (GELCC) has curated valuable high-risk LC families and is uniquely positioned to uncover rare, high-penetrance variants underlying familial LC (FLC).

Methods: We performed whole-genome and exome sequencing on germline DNA from 120 high-risk LC families (177 FLC cases, 309 unaffected relatives). We prioritized rare (allele frequency < 1% in the genome aggregation database), potentially deleterious variants present in two or more FLC cases. These variants were then validated in 10,085 sporadic LC (SLC) cases and 612,970 controls.

Results: We identified 118 candidate variants, 28 of which were validated in SLC with strong statistical support. We discovered a novel pathogenic axis of three truncating variants in GALNT6, MUC4, and ERBB3 genes, which …

Internalizing disorders disproportionately affect autistic adolescents, though limited research has focused on tailoring therapy for this population. The purposes of this paper were (1) to describe the development of a transdiagnostic exposure therapy/behavioral activation intervention for autistic adolescents with internalizing disorders, and (2) to present a pilot test of feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of the intervention. Introduction/aim: As humans return to the Moon, safe efficient ambulation and fall prevention on the lunar surface are key concerns. The analysis of gait from archived Apollo mission video footage is now possible with pose estimation video analysis software. Thus, this study aims to retrospectively quantify parameters of Apollo astronauts' stance and gait on the Moon.

Companies in the United States have increasingly turned to reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code to resolve mass tort claims. Despite this experience, Australian companies have hesitated to use similar processes to achieve the same goal. Instead, mass tort liability continues to be resolved through traditional class action litigation. This essay argues that such hesitation is unfounded and that the creditors’ scheme of arrangement process in Part 5.1 of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) provides not only an appropriate method for resolving mass tort liability, but one which is in many respects superior to a Chapter 11 reorganization. …

The project was implemented at an outpatient gastroenterology practice within a medical center, which encompasses an outpatient endoscopy center in Houston, Texas.

Improving Documentation Compliance During Obstetric Massive Transfusion Events Through Implementation Of A Standardized Flowsheet, Kirstie Barrick

Doctor of Nursing Practice Final Project Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this quality improvement project was to implement a standardized MTP documentation flowsheet in a Level IV maternal Labor and Delivery unit and increase documentation compliance to ≥80% within one month of implementation.

Results: One-month post-implementation, documentation compliance reached 82%, exceeding the established goal of 80%. Compliance remained stable across monitoring periods, suggesting early adoption and short-term sustainability. Staff reported high usability ratings, improved workflow efficiency, and increased confidence in documenting MTP events following simulation-based education. Minimal missing data and consistent survey responses supported reliability of findings.
