Flow, an optimal experience characterized by deep immersion and engagement in an activity, has been extensively studied in behavioral research. However, its neural dynamic mechanism remains poorly understood. In a within-subject video gaming experiment, we captured neural activity underlying flow, boredom, and anxiety using a 64-channel electroencephalogram (EEG) system. Compared to boredom and anxiety, flow exhibits the highest global functional connectivity, metastability, and dimensionality of dynamic functional connectivity patterns, suggesting that flow is a highly adaptable process that is supported by high-dimensional neural dynamics. Reforestation is a leading climate solution for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, but generally decreases surface albedo, which diminishes its climate mitigation value. Knowing how quickly this albedo effect unfolds relative to carbon removal is critical for planning climate mitigation actions, yet the temporal changes in albedo are poorly described. This study uses satellite observations to characterize temporal changes in albedo with stand development for different forest types and ecoclimatic settings around the world. We find that about half of the climate warming effect from decreased albedo occurs within 40 years, but that it takes anywhere from 50 to …

A revolutionary transformation is underway in agricultural systems, with Natural Farming (NF) being promoted as an agrochemical-free, agroecological alternative to conventional Chemical Farming (CF) in several states of India. To assess the successful adoption of NF among smallholder farming systems in the Himalayan region, this study was conducted in Himachal Pradesh, India. Primary data were collected from 360 randomly selected farmers across six districts using a simple random sampling technique. Background and objective Snoring occurs due to intermittent narrowing of the airway during sleep and may indicate more severe pathology, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Evidence of an independent relationship between snoring and depression is mixed. This study sought to estimate the association between self-reported snoring frequency and depression in a sample of US adults. BACKGROUND: The Lancet Oncology Commission on cancer genomics and precision oncology identified workforce capability, education, and training as major constraints to equitable implementation. As genomic and multi-omic technologies become integrated into cancer care, structured approaches are needed to define competencies across the multidisciplinary workforce.

METHODS: The Core Competency Framework for Precision Oncology was developed using a narrative review and iterative expert-informed framework development process. Competency frameworks, professional standards, policy guidance, organisational reports, and educational literature relevant to genomic medicine, precision oncology, and workforce development were identified through purposive searches of organisational repositories, peer-reviewed literature, and reference list screening between January …

Women’s entrepreneurship represents an important source of economic participation, job creation, and local development in Kosovo. Despite gradual progress, women entrepreneurs continue to face structural constraints linked to family responsibilities, unequal care burdens, and uneven institutional support. This study examines how family-related responsibilities and institutional support mechanisms interact to shape the entrepreneurial experiences of women entrepreneurs in Kosovo. The analysis is guided by the 5M framework of women’s entrepreneurship developed by Brush et al. (2009) and applies a mixed-methods research design combining survey data from 145 women-owned businesses, semi-structured interviews, and secondary evidence. With the question of birthright citizenship before the Supreme Court this term in Trump v. Barbara, this Article explores the last time that federal courts confronted an attempt to restrict birthright citizenship. It tells the story of two lawsuits, Regan v. King and Fisk v. Wade, filed in 1942 by organizations seeking to overturn United States v. Wong Kim Ark, the 1898 Supreme Court decision that affirmed the broad scope of birthright citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment. This Article charts domestic law enforcement’s use of video surveillance, beginning in the backlash to the Civil Rights movement in the late 1960s, continuing through the War on Terror and, more recently, in the context of the post-George Floyd public critiques of policing. The undergirding philosophy of policing’s embrace of surveillance technology is techno-solutionism, the view that all complex social situations can be simplified to measurable data primed for quick-fix, unbiased, algorithmic answers. After years of battling to have an uninfringed right to vote and participate on a jury panel, the removal of the unanimity requirement for a death penalty recommendation threatens to disenfranchise minority jurors, thereby implicating the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments. The death penalty is one of the most controversial issues in our society, and it has evolved over time. Due to a paradigm shift in beliefs, the death penalty’s constitutionality was challenged under the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. Pivotal legal decisions, such as Furman v. Georgia and Hurst v. The cultural phenomenon known as “youth culture” (ch’ŏngnyŏn munhwa) emerged in South Korean society at the turn of the 1970s. It encompasses Western fashion trends, music genres, leisure and nightlife. Labeled as a foreign and decadent trend by the authorities, this so-called counterculture was the target of repeated crackdowns. It is sometimes perceived as a force of protest or resistance, but it had more ambiguous relations to the regime.
