Molten salt reactors (MSRs) design development is of interest to many research groups and companies. Waste management for MSRs is one of the most important issues that needs to be resolved due to its impact on environmental safety, primarily via the dissolution of radionuclides in water. Furthermore, the waste treatment strategy will have a significant influence on the operating cost of MSRs, which is why a reliable process for the immobilization, transportation, storage and disposal of MSR waste must be addressed. This article investigates the interplay between apportionment functions and order-theoretic structures on population and allocation vectors. We define a class of functions, called apportionment maps, that respect population monotonicity, house monotonicity, and size monotonicity. A central focus is placed on the preservation or violation of majorization under these functions, with particular attention to the Jefferson method and related divisor schemes. By applying tools from convex analysis and the theory of Schur-convex functions, we characterize the extent to which fairness criteria are preserved under apportionment.

We give an explicit characterization of the standard monomials for positroid varieties with respect to the Hodge degeneration and give a Gröbner basis. Furthermore, we show that promotion and evacuation biject standard monomials of a positroid variety with those of its cyclic shifts and w₀-reflection, respectively. The connection to promotion allows us to identify standard monomials of a positroid variety with Lam's cyclic Demazure crystal. Using a recurrence on the Hilbert series, we give an inductive formula for the character of cyclic Demazure modules.

Humboldt Wetland Restoration & Mitigation Geodatabase, Sylvia Van Royen

This geodatabase brings together restoration and mitigation project data for wetlands and eelgrass in and around Humboldt Bay, alongside referential layers, such as historic saltmarsh extent, to support future restoration planning. The scope of the database is limited to projects that have restored tidal influence, created or restored tidal slough channels or wetland channels, restored wetland contours, or created off-channel ponds. Projects were excluded that only performed invasive plant removal, vegetation management, or fish passage barrier removal.

Project data was sourced from Coastal Development Permits and a collection of restoration project documents called the Low Tide Archive. All of the …

This master’s project documents the analysis, conservation, and collaborative stewardship of Hodínöhšö:ni:h basketry at the Seneca–Iroquois National Museum (SINM), housed within the Onöhsagwë:dé Cultural Center. The project represents a continued partnership between SINM and the Garman Art Conservation Department at SUNY Buffalo State University and addresses both immediate conservation needs and long-term collection care planning.

The multi-phased study included: (1) a condition survey of 115 mold-affected baskets (2) elemental analysis of selected pigments and materials using handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF); (3) microbiological sampling and preliminary identification of fungal species present on select baskets; (4) the development and implementation of a …

This project centers around three albumen landscape photographs from the 1870s and 1880s. The three photographs all display severe, yet visually different foxing and staining. The project explores the cause of the foxing on each photograph and how that affects the photographic structure. The analytical techniques utilized were technical imaging, x-radiography, optical microscopy, x-ray fluorescence mapping, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and microflora isolation.

Extradition In The Early Republic: International Law And Constitutional Authority, Curtis A. Bradley

This Article is the first comprehensive account of the constitutional foundations of U.S. extradition practice and its relationship to international law. Through detailed analysis of early American extradition controversies—including the Longchamps Affair and the Robbins case—the Article shows how political actors and courts constructed the modern constitutional law of extradition, resolving key issues concerning presidential power, the role of the states, and the scope of congressional authority. This regime, the Article argues, emerged not from appeals to the constitutional text or original understandings, but rather from structural intuitions, consequentialist considerations, and, as time went on, historical traditions. Court reporters have long been a fixture of American jurisprudence, but tightening state budgets and a nationwide shortage of certified reporters have left many state court civil proceedings without any form of verbatim transcription at public expense. While litigants with means can hire private court reporters to accompany them to their proceedings, indigent parties must go without—even though the absence of a transcript is often deadly to one’s chances of prevailing on appeal, no matter how meritorious the claim.
