This study investigates the impact of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling parameters on Cu-Al-Mn SMAs (Shape memory alloys) to evaluate the effects on Surface Roughness (SR) and Material Removal Rate (MRR). The primary variables examined comprise of cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. Results indicate that the Shape Memory Effect (SME) is higher in Copper Aluminium Manganese (CAM 3) compared to CAM 1 and CAM 2, with SME improving from 3.5% to 5.5% as Manganese (Mn) content increases, reflecting an increase in dislocations within the metal’s crystal structure. Underground cables with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation are integral to medium voltage (MV) power transmission systems, ensuring continuous electricity supply amidst operational challenges and environmental conditions. However, the reliability of these cables can be compromised over time due to aging and installation-related factors, particularly at joints and terminations. This study offers a comprehensive analysis of how various defects, including spherical air voids, pinholes, and irregularities in semiconducting layers, affect electric field and potential distributions within cable end terminations using COMSOL Multiphysics software. We propose a complete circular economy and sustainability model from soft cemented carbide scrap to supercapacitor application. An enhanced recovery of cobalt and nickel was observed when deep eutectic solvent was used. A comparative in-situ electrochemical deposition of the recovered metals was done on stainless steel (SS), SS/activated carbon (AC), and SS/AC/polyaniline (PANI). The optimization of electrochemical extraction was carried out by varying voltage, time, and temperature. Eggplant is prone to several fungal diseases, of which leaf spot disease is the one of the most devastating in the Mattu Gulla variety of eggplant. The current investigation focuses on assessing the pathogenicity of fungi associated with the leaf spot disease and the effects of fungal infection on host plant physiology, biochemistry, and metabolism. Four fungi, Alternaria solani, Alternaria alternata, Fusarium solani, and Lasiodiplodia theobromae, associated with leaf spot disease, were found to have pathogenic potential in Mattu Gulla. Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in wastewater poses serious environmental and ecological risks. A novel Fe3O4-loaded magnetic biochar (MBC) using Acacia falcata leaf powder was synthesized via one-step hydrothermal carbonization for efficient Cr(VI) removal. FESEM images revealed porous, irregular structures, and EDS analysis confirmed Fe, O, C, and Cr presence, validating chromium adsorption. XRD indicated a lattice parameter of 0.8407 nm, characteristic of magnetite nanoparticles, with an average crystallite size of 11.29 nm. MBC exhibited superparamagnetic behavior facilitating easy separation. Background: Isoniazid-induced pancreatitis is a potentially serious adverse drug reaction, however, the frequency of its occurrence is unknown. We conducted a systematic review to explore this adverse drug reaction comprehensively. Methods: We performed an advanced search in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Ovid, and Embase for studies that reported isoniazid-induced pancreatitis. From the extracted data of eligible cases, we performed a descriptive analysis and a methodological risk of bias assessment using a standardized tool. Results: We included 16 case reports from eight countries comprising 16 patients in our systematic review. Most of the isoniazid-induced pancreatitis cases were extrapulmonary tuberculosis cases. …

Purpose

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a puzzle-based video game that allows Leadership educators to facilitate a highly interactive and behaviorally intense experience within a traditional classroom environment. In this manuscript, we discuss appropriate use cases, curricular alignments and provide a sample lesson plan outlining one way of using the game.

Design/methodology/approach

The cooperative and team-based nature of this game provides opportunities to create interactive lessons on a variety of topics, such as communication, group dynamics, leadership, conflict strategies and cognitive load.

The Silala case was brought by Chile against Bolivia at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2016 over conflicting views of their respective substantive rights and obligations pertaining to the shared waters of the Silala River system. However, the outcome was far less than ideal, with the ICJ effectively deciding nothing about the dispute. The Court presumed the dispute had ‘disappeared’ as the parties converged on their positions mid-proceedings. Since the beginning of the 21st century, investigative journalists uncovered hundreds of corrupt individuals using thousands of shell companies to evade taxes, and sometimes even launder billions of dollars using court systems for legitimacy. International commercial arbitration has fallen victim to illicit activity as well, with sham arbitrations sprouting into public view in recent years. This article discusses and clarifies the meaning and importance of the spirit of international investment law. It submits that the spirit of international investment law should guide the allocation of the costs of investor-state arbitrations.

The article then examines the treaty and arbitral cost allocation practices in investor-state arbitration. Among other things, it includes quantitative research of the international investment agreements (IIAs) adopted between 2016 and mid-2024. It shows that most IIAs are silent on the allocation of costs in investor-state arbitrations, leaving arbitrators with broad discretion to address this issue. Land conservation plays an important role in managing flood risk. It enhances community resilience and supports multiple ecosystem functions. This qualitative study investigates how local and regional land conservation strategies advance flood resilience in New Hampshire’s coastal watershed. Focusing on the institutional context, this thesis analyzes the effectiveness of local land conservation planning efforts, explores cross-scale interactions between local and regional planning, and identifies barriers and opportunities for flood-focused conservation projects. Purpose: Summer day camp offers children opportunities to grow knowledge and skills, be physically active, and have fun. Compared to healthy children, at-risk children (i.e., overweight, or with obesity and chronic health conditions) typically display less optimal health behaviors and psychosocial well-being, especially during summer months. Data on the trend in the incidence of HDP among the Medicaid population during coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) are lacking. Objective: To determine the trends in the annual incidence of HDP among pregnant Medicaid-insured women in Louisiana before and during the COVID-19 pandemic (2016–2021). PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine whether the rates of (1) in-hospital lengths of stay (LOS), (2) readmissions, (3) medical complications, and (4) costs of care are higher for patients with depressive disorder (DD) undergoing primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) for treatment of femoral neck fractures (FNFs).

MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective query of a national administrative claims database for patients undergoing primary THA from 2006 to 2014 was conducted.
