Existing literature on the behaviour of rising powers in global trade governance has yielded inconclusive evidence about their role and impact. This article contributes to this literature by examining China's role in global digital trade governance, an issue area which so far has not received sufficient scholarly attention. Specifically, it addresses the following question: as a self-proclaimed leader of the developing world in digital development, to what extent do its preferences and negotiation approach align with the interests of other developing countries? Purpose: Summer day camp offers children opportunities to grow knowledge and skills, be physically active, and have fun. Compared to healthy children, at-risk children (i.e., overweight, or with obesity and chronic health conditions) typically display less optimal health behaviors and psychosocial well-being, especially during summer months. This study examined the preliminary effectiveness of an American-Diabetes-Association-sponsored summer day camp at improving children’s health behaviors (i.e., physical activity, screen time, diet, sleep) and psychosocial well-being outcomes (i.e., quality of life [QoL], enjoyment, weight-related self-efficacy). Importance: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are a group of high blood pressure disorders during pregnancy that are a leading cause of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. Data on the trend in the incidence of HDP among the Medicaid population during coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) are lacking. Objective: To determine the trends in the annual incidence of HDP among pregnant Medicaid-insured women in Louisiana before and during the COVID-19 pandemic (2016–2021). Background: Glucosamine is a dietary supplement commonly used to support joint health. However, there has been interest in exploring other effects of glucosamine on health outcomes due to its ant-inflammation effect. Objective: This study compared the risks of major adverse liver outcomes (MALOs) between regular users and non-users of glucosamine among patients with type 2 diabetes and metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) using the data from a large prospective cohort study. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine whether the rates of (1) in-hospital lengths of stay (LOS), (2) readmissions, (3) medical complications, and (4) costs of care are higher for patients with depressive disorder (DD) undergoing primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) for treatment of femoral neck fractures (FNFs).

MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective query of a national administrative claims database for patients undergoing primary THA from 2006 to 2014 was conducted. Patients with DD undergoing THA for treatment of FNF were 1:5 ratio propensity score matched to a cohort (DD=6,758, controls=33,708). Primary endpoints included LOS, 90-day medical complications, …

Objective: There has been little to no qualitative research done with adolescents and young adults (AYA) with type 2 diabetes (T2D) that can guide creation of interventions for this demographic. Using qualitative research methods, a novel mind–body intervention called Intervention for Early Onset Type 2 Diabetes (INTEND) has been developed for AYA aged 15 to 20 years, with the goal of improving self-management and coping skills, by enhancing routine care with augmented education coupled with mind–body skills. Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of different antimicrobial agents, including Ciprofloxacin, Doxycycline, Clindamycin, Metronidazole, Amoxicillin and Clavulanate, Triple antibiotic paste (TAP) and Calcium hydroxide (CH), as intra-canal medications for regenerative endodontics against an aged, multispecies ex-vivo biofilm model.

Methods: A total of one hundred fifty single-rooted human teeth were used in this study. Fifteen teeth were used to monitor the formation and maturation of a multispecies biofilm model consisting of Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Candida albicans. Adiabatic logic has been proposed as a method for drastically reducing power consumption in specialized low-power circuits. They often require specialized clock drivers that also function as the main power supply, in contrast to standard CMOS logic, and these power clocks are often a point of difficulty in the design process. A novel, stepwise charging driver circuit for four-phase adiabatic logic is proposed and validated through a simulation study. Objective: Ranked-choice voting (RCV) is increasingly seen as a way to reduce political polarization and increase voter choice in elections, but little is known about its effect on candidate fundraising. In 2022, Alaska held its first election using a nonpartisan Top 4 primary followed by a ranked-choice general election. We analyze the effect of this new system on campaign financing practices in state legislative elections. There are many reasons to expect RCV to increase campaign spending, broaden the donor pool, and prompt donors to support candidates to whom they would not otherwise contribute. Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is regarded as a critical factor contributing to the failure of primary and revision total joint arthroplasty (TJA). With the increasing prevalence of TJA, a significant increase in the incidence of PJI is expected. The escalating number of cases, along with the significant economic strain imposed on healthcare systems, place emphasis on the pressing need for development of effective strategies for prevention. A severely damaged 19th-century oil painting depicting a portrait of a woman was treated at Patricia H. and E. Garman Art Conservation Department. A typed letter provided by the owner mentioned that it has been previously restored yet returned with unsatisfactory results. After further examination, the painting appeared to have been previously treated multiple times by different people. There was overpaint distinctly present on the face and later discovered to be present overall. This study focuses on the research, technical analysis, and treatment of an 1852 Jacob Spoel painting (Untitled, acc.62.28, 80cm H x 105cm W x 1.75cm D) owned by the Memorial Art Gallery and described as a ‘family gathering.’ When received by the department, the painting was not in a fit state for display; it was not structurally sound and had a disfiguring varnish reducing the readability of the composition. A late 19th century automaton, Madame La Doll, in the collections of the Buffalo History Museum ceased functioning recently, with the only recorded documentation of the object in motion stored on a DVD. Research was undertaken to provide provenance and authentication of museum records. Examination, digital photographic, and video documentation were done. ABCDEFG & Hi (1961-62) and Father Damien (1966-67) are both painted wooden sculptures created by Marisol during the height of her fame. Although Marisol is a well-known artist, whose fame has been rekindling since her death in 2016, there have been few technical studies of her works. Multimodal imaging and scientific analysis of these two sculptures provide insight into their structure and materials. Techniques include x-ray radiography, reflectance transformation imaging, x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The painting’s title, date, and artist were unknown and the subject was initially referred to as a “17^th Century Dutch Cavalier.” Little information existed on the provenance and history of the artwork. Microbial Induced Partial Saturation (MIPS) is a sustainable and cost-effective approach to mitigate liquefaction; however, more research needs to be done to apply MIPS to a variety of different soil types and conditions. The investigation consisted of running a series of undrained strain-controlled cyclic Direct Simple Shear (DSS) tests on fully saturated samples with varying non-plastic fine and plastic fine content. Metabolism is a network of chemical reactions that sustain cellular life. Parts of this metabolic network are defined as metabolic pathways containing specific biochemical reactions. Products and reactants of these reactions are called metabolites, which are associated with certain human-defined metabolic pathways. Metabolic knowledgebases, such as the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Gene and Genomes (KEGG) contain metabolites, reactions, and pathway annotations; however, such resources are incomplete due to current limits of metabolic knowledge.
