On the morning of 26 August 2026, the mountains above Nepal’s northern frontier delivered a disaster of almost unimaginable speed and scale. A massive mass of ice, rock, and sediment detached in the high Himalayan terrain near the Nepal–Tibet border, descended roughly 1,200 metres, interacted with the Lhende Khola system, and generated a debris-rich flood that surged through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors, destroying settlements, markets, roads, bridges, hydropower facilities, and an international border crossing and transforming them into fields of mud, boulders, and wreckage within minutes (ICIMOD, 2026b; Reuters, 2026a). The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought significant transformations to the teaching of Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing, BIPA). This empirical qualitative study aims to describe the challenges faced by BIPA teachers in integrating AI into language instruction and the strategies they employ to balance the use of technology with the preservation of local culture. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and the analysis of teaching-material documents involving three BIPA teachers at Bali State Polytechnic who were selected through purposive sampling. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid-state manufacturing process widely used in joining aluminum and other metal workpieces. The FSW process can be modeled by a coupled system of non-Newtonian Navier–Stokes and heat-transfer equations. However, solving this non-linear system with high accuracy requires significant computational power. This work refines the system by introducing corrected coefficients and new treatments for boundary conditions near the tool. Then, model order reduction, including the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) and Discrete Empirical Interpolation Method (DEIM), is applied to efficiently solve the FSW system in a low-dimensional space. Health systems face escalating burdens from physical inactivity, poor nutrition, and related noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), which disproportionately affect socioeconomically and clinically susceptible populations [1], [2]. Concurrently, artificial intelligence (AI), digital health technologies, and wearable devices are increasingly shaping health decision making and behavior change interventions [3], [4]. Nudge theory, grounded in behavioral economics, offers a noncoercive approach to influencing behavior through choice architecture while preserving individual autonomy [5], [6]. As AI enables nudges to become more personalized and scalable, conceptual clarity is needed to guide ethical, nurse-led applications that advance prevention and health equity [7], [8].

Introduction: Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is the most burdensome symptom in early-stage breast cancer (ESBC) patients; up to 30% report severe fatigue one-year post-diagnosis. CRF significantly impairs quality of life and functional status. Identifying risk factors for distinct fatigue trajectories can inform symptom management timing and personalization.

Purpose: Identify distinct trajectories and phenotypic and genotypic risk factors associated with high severity fatigue trajectories in women with ESBC.

Purpose: This presentation examined pre–post changes among parent–child dyads who received HPV Detective, a digital game promoting HPV vaccination and cancer prevention. We compared intervention effects between parents and children to understand how digital tools influence family-centered determinants of HPV vaccination.

Methods: Thirty-one parent–child dyads (n=62) completed online surveys at baseline (T0) and immediately post-intervention (T1) while playing the 10–15-minute game in pediatric clinics before seeing the provider. Surveys included sociodemographic characteristics and validated scales assessing HPV knowledge, attitudes, behavioral control, subjective norms, and vaccination intention. Paired t-tests and descriptive analyses assessed within-person changes, with results confirmed using nonparametric tests. …

Evidence shows that telehealth can be influenced by communication quality between patients and providers. However, little is known about how patient-provider communication relates to telehealth use among minority ethnic populations.

Purpose: This study was to examine associations between patient-centered communication and telehealth use in Asian Americans.

This critical race collaborative autoethnography explores the experiences of Southeast Asian American (SEAA) women in doctoral programs in higher education. Using a feminist refugee Asian critical approach, findings illuminate tensions that SEAA women encountered during their educational experiences and how these women built resolve. Findings include being seen amidst the invisibilization of SEAA identities, an insistence on the value of their SEAA research agendas, and navigating the unsettled emotions during academic displacement.

More Than A Name: Reparative Description For Women’S Archives, Allison Mccormack, Hallie Oines

This article describes a reparative description initiative at an academic library aimed at improving access to women’s archival collections. By hiring a metadata specialist through grant funding, the project revised legacy MARC records to update, expand, and standardize collection descriptions. Prioritizing inclusive language and accurate subject headings, the team addressed gaps that previously hindered discovery of women’s materials. Over two years, 818 records were remediated, enhancing creator, topical, and genre/form access points. The article discusses project challenges, strategies for respectful description, and the resulting improved discoverability, offering a replicable model for reparative archival work.

In response to widespread criticism of exploitative prison communication costs, Congress enacted the Martha Wright-Reed Just and Reasonable Communications Act of 2022 (the “Act”). This legislation tasked the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) with establishing fair rates for phone and video calls made by inmates in jails, prisons, and immigration detention centers. While the Act marks a critical step in reducing financial burdens on incarcerated individuals and their families, it does not cover other widely used communication methods, such as electronic messaging, emails, and tablet-based platforms. Courts increasingly rely on cadaver dog evidence in criminal trials, treating canine alerts as a reliable form of forensic evidence. This naive acceptance of cadaver dog evidence, coupled with courts’ continued application of out-dated admissibility standards, threatens to perpetuate wrongful convictions in an era of rapidly advancing scientific understanding. This Article argues that courts must develop a new framework for evaluating cadaver dog evidence that incorporates modern scientific research on ca-nine olfaction and scent detection capabilities. Courts typically evaluate correctional uses of force by zooming in on the last seconds before impact, asking what an officer reasonably perceived at the “moment of threat.” That frame obscures a basic feature of jail and prison operations: officers’ pre-force tactical choices often create or sharply heighten the risks that force is later used to manage. Building on Barnes v. Felix’s rejection of a rigid moment-of-threat rule and the broader state-created-danger line, this Article argues that officer-created jeopardy should be treated as a central component of constitutional and institutional review in corrections. This Comment explores the evolving legal landscape of child pornography law as it pertains to “nudify” apps and other AI-generated content. It examines foundational cases in child pornography law that allowed child pornography materials to bypass First Amendment constraints, the “lascivious exhibition” standard, and recent precedents allowing courts to prosecute morphed images. This Comment analyzes the viability of prosecuting “nudify” images, arguing that a holistic approach focusing on the child’s overall harm is the best analytical framework rather than one that solely focuses on the sexual nature of the image.
