Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic exposed challenges in nurse engagement and participation in continuing education, impacting professional development and patient safety. Escape room–based learning has emerged to address these gaps by fostering collaboration and active participation. While escape rooms are reported as engaging, evidence comparing their effectiveness to traditional classroom education remains limited.

Purpose: To compare escape room learning and classroom instruction on nurses’ confidence, knowledge retention, and perceived meaningfulness.

Nursing students with physical disabilities (NSWPD) face barriers in clinical learning including physical inaccessibility, lack of awareness or training in faculty and staff, and bias in professional evaluation (1-3). The project purpose was to directly identify barriers to clinical learning for NSWPD.

Method: Investigators developed an evidence-based assessment guide covering perceived challenges to accommodations for NSWD, stakeholder knowledge, and other issues (4-6). A university disability specialist (DS) was embedded with students in simulation laboratory and clinical sites in July-October 2025. The DS observed lectures, skills practice, patient encounter simulations, peer assessment, instructor-oversight assessment, patient interactions/duties, and other responsibilities.

Identification of the underlying etiology is essential for prognosis and treatment planning. This study investigated the prevalence and characteristics of diseases associated with feline pleural effusion in northeastern Thailand. Medical records of cats diagnosed with pleural effusion at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, between January 2024 and January 2025 were retrospectively reviewed. The poem examines how socioeconomic hardship and language brokering shape a child’s relationship to desire, responsibility, and unrealized possibility. While other children receive formal lessons that allow their interests and talents to be discovered, the speaker develops unrecognized interpretive skill by helping her parents navigate English-speaking institutions. Media literacy education is widely held to have moved from a protective to a participatory paradigm. This study asks whether the children's digital rights literature that informs it has made the same move. Records were retrieved from Web of Science and Scopus (search date 31 August 2026), screened, and deduplicated, yielding 1,012 publications from 1993 to 2026. A dictionary built on the protection–provision–participation framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child was applied to 4,507 keywords. Protection accounted for 40.4% of classified keywords, provision for 44.4%, and participation for 15.1%. Protection exceeded participation by 2.4 to 3.1 throughout, …

Rhabdomyolysis is characterized by the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue and the release of intracellular contents into the circulation, and it poses diagnostic challenges due to its heterogeneous presentation and potential for serious complications. We present a case of a 44-year-old male with a history of hypertension, anxiety, and persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) who developed rhabdomyolysis the morning after a scheduled catheter ablation. He presented with myalgias, muscle cramps, weakness, and brown-colored urine; laboratory studies revealed a creatine phosphokinase (CPK) of 23,757 U/L, hyponatremia, and mildly elevated transaminases despite a normal urinalysis. Livedoid vasculopathy (LV) is a rare, chronic vascular disorder marked by painful, recurrent ulcerations that primarily affect the lower extremities. It is frequently associated with hypercoagulable states, although its pathophysiology remains incompletely understood. We present the case of a 25-year-old woman with a longstanding history of LV, elevated factor VIII, increased lipoprotein(a), recurrent kidney stones, and iron deficiency anemia who presented with worsening lower-extremity ulcerations. An extensive workup excluded other hypercoagulable and connective-tissue conditions, leaving elevated factor VIII and lipoprotein(a) as the most likely contributors to her disease. This literature review examines participation barriers, engagement strategies, and approaches to fostering inclusive discussion environments. Research identifies multiple contributing factors: fear of negative evaluation, cultural differences in communication styles, insufficient content knowledge, and technological challenges in virtual settings. The Student Engagement in Digital Learning Framework reveals four key dimensions—emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and social—that interact to create barriers or facilitators to student voice.
