Novel High-Strength And High-Temperature Resistant Composite Material For In-Space Optical Mining Applications: Modeling, Design, And Simulation At The Polymer And Atomic/Molecular Levels., Haradou Sare, Dongmei Dong

This study explores the modeling, design, simulation, and testing of a new composite material designed for high-strength and high-temperature resistance in in-space optical mining, examining its properties at both the polymer and atomic/molecular levels. At the polymer level, the investigation includes mechanical and thermal performance analyses using COMSOL Multiphysics 6.1, employing layerwise theory, equivalent single layer (ESL) theory, and a multiple-model approach for mechanical modeling, alongside virtual thermal experiments simulating laser heating. Experimentally, porous Polyaniline (PANI) films are fabricated via electrochemical polymerization, with variations in voltage and deposition time, to study their morphology, optical performance, and electrochemical behavior. Dust deposition poses a significant challenge in the implementation of photovoltaic panels (PV) especially in hot and dusty environments, such as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This issue leads to progressive degradation of PV efficiency and output power. In this context, this research work aims to improve PV performance by developing self-cleaning sprays as a preventative solution. Different concentrations of SnO2 and TiO2 nanoceramics were dispersed in isopropyl alcohol solvent to reduce the mixture’s viscosity and facilitate smooth spraying on solar panels, whose efficiency was continually assessed in outdoor conditions. Then, as we move into looking at Mary and walking with her, we will look at the parts of the Mass. And recently, I heard a wonderful homily by a deacon from our church, Deacon Mark Danis, and I have him to thank for a new insight into the Mass and to Our Lady and her role in the Mass.

And then, we'll conclude our picture of Mary with Reconciliation and what that means.

Previous literature has identified disparities in disposition, sentencing, and employment outcomes for officers convicted of various criminal offenses, yet research on disparities for sexual offenses is lacking. This study explores disparities in case disposition, sentencing, and employment outcomes for on- and off-duty sexual misconduct cases involving sworn law enforcement. Using data from the Henry A. Wallace Police Crime Database, this study examines disposition, sentencing, and employment outcomes in relation to individual officer characteristics among police officers arrested for sexual offenses. This research aims to uncover differences in case outcomes and has implications for equitable justice, accountability, and police reform.

An Exploratory Analysis Of The Situational Contexts That Influence On-Duty Police Fatal Shootings, Aubrey L. Hill, Eric M. Cooke, Philip M. Stinson

Examining the diverse scenarios and situations underlying fatal shootings by on-duty officers charged with murder and manslaughter is crucial for developing effective prevention strategies and policy recommendations. Previous studies focus on victim characteristics but often overlook motivations and situational contexts. To address this gap, this study uses data from the Henry A. Wallace Police Crime Database to examine situational contexts of on-duty fatal shootings. Specifically, we explore how the nature of the encounter, environment, weapons and bodycam presence, and officers’ perceptions influence these events. By analyzing these factors, we aim to understand the underlying causes of fatal shootings.

The Omani Legislature has established administrative forfeiture as a way for the managing authority to collect outstanding debts from defaulting debtors without involving the judiciary. However, this system is rarely used by the entities with theright to enforce it. To address this issue, a research study has been conducted to highlight the administrative forfeiture system. The study is divided into two sections. The first section explains the concept of administrative forfeiture, distinguishes it from judicial forfeiture, and clarifies its legal nature. Background

Belonging is closely associated with well-being, yet individuals with experiences of being unhoused are likely to experience social exclusion and challenges with developing a sense of belonging. Engagement in meaningful activity has been linked to belonging; however, there are no focused studies exploring experiences of how engaging in meaningful activities influences belonging. Meaningful activities are things we do that bring value to our lives.

Purpose

To explore how engaging in meaningful activities may influence experiences of belonging following homelessness through a secondary analysis of qualitative interviews.

Carnivorous plants survive in harsh habitats with limited nutrients and a low pH. Much focus has been placed on carnivorous trap evolution as the primary mechanism to increase nutrient acquisition through insect digestion. Soil microbiome, however, may also play a pertinent role in nutrient acquisition influencing plant vigor and overall success. Dionaea muscipula, commonly known as the Venus’ flytrap, is endemic to rims of the Carolina Bays located in southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina, where D. muscipula survives in nutrient poor soils with a vestigial root system. It is an error of the State to give an instruction to the Grand Jury that is not supported by evidence and which does not address a necessary element, which in this case must be under NRS 172.095(2). The State exceeded its statutory duty in the case at hand and gave the grand jury an instruction on grooming that was improper and prejudicial. As a result, and because the State failed to provide exculpatory evidence, the district court abused its discretion in denying pretrial habeas corpus relief. The petitioned relief is affirmed.

Police officers have been known to use excessive force and abuse their powers during encounters with young African American males (ages 18 to 25), which may lead to lower perception levels of police. This study provides crucial information for criminal justice professionals about the psychological and demographic factors that influence young African American males’ perceptions of police. The research aims to examine Cyberbullying within Omani law, focusing on the key issue of whether acts of Cyberbullying are considered criminal offenses under current Omani penal laws, or if new legislation is needed to address this issue. The study uses a descriptive approach to define Cyberbullying and its characteristics, and an analytical approach to determine whether the existing Omani Penal Code and cybercrime law cover all forms of Cyberbullying . The research findings indicate that Cyberbullying encompasses multiple types, and any definition should consider its nature, means of commission, and purpose.
