This study examines the differences in food availability between tourist and rural markets in Bali, focusing on the factors contributing to a diet shift in Bali. Using a mixed-methods approach—including interviews with local residents, observational surveys, and a literature review—this research highlights the influence of tourism, social media, and government policies on food choices and accessibility. Findings reveal a noticeable increase in processed foods in tourist areas, driven by demand for convenience and "Instagrammable" options, while rural markets maintain a higher prevalence of whole foods despite the creeping presence of packaged products. The Supreme Court has linked the concept of stare decisis to the protection of judicial legitimacy. In Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Justice Alito’s majority opinion set forth five factors that called into question the legitimacy of Roe v. Wade, and found that they required an abandonment of the 49 year-old privacy right, for the sake of the rule of law. The next day, however, in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. A curious convergence is emerging in legal academia around the conclusion that the 1787 Constitution is a white supremacist document. Although most originalists would deny that contention, their methodology strongly favors, if it does not compel, an agreement with progressive, “neo-Garrisonian” scholars that the Constitution of 1787 is indeed a white supremacist document. Both the neo-Garrisonian and originalist elements of this implicit convergence stem from their “essentialism” in Constitutional interpretation: the idea that the Constitution or its terms or provisions carry a uniquely and objectively correct meaning, invariant over time, and independent of our evolving normative commitments.

The public, scholarly, and legal debate over whether former president Donald Trump is eligible to hold office under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment has focused far more on technical legal questions than on whether Trump engaged in an insurrection. Scholarly and public commentary rarely examines the constitutional/ common law of insurrection, preferring instead to examine whether Trump is exempt from Section Three because Section Three either exempts presidents or the presidency from disqualification or because Section Three is not self-executing. This Article examines the turbulent constitutional history of Afghanistan and proposes a pragmatic constitutional framework balancing Islamic principles with rights, protections, and constraints on power. After analyzing the Taliban’s current extraconstitutional rule and ideological objections to an inclusive order, it makes the case for principled compromise. The first step to constitutional reform for Afghanistan is to recognize that Afghans, the Taliban, and the international community pay a high price for disregarding law and accountability in governance. Work law is excessively exclusionary. Canonical examples include agriculture workers, independent contractors, and domestic workers. But work law excludes far more workers and employers than those familiar categories. Whole sectors, occupations, business sizes, wage arrangements, geographical areas, and more are excluded from the basic tenets of economic citizenship, including federal, state, and local minimum wage; overtime; and safety and labor protection laws.

Equal protection claims govern the authority of legislatures to determine who is in and who is out of work laws. Excluded workers and included employers now routinely use state and federal constitutional equal protection arguments against exclusionary work …

At a House hearing on December 5, 2023, the presidents of three universities— Harvard, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania—refused to state that certain kinds of hate speech, specifically calls for genocide of Jews, are prohibited on their campuses. The backlash against two of them, Harvard’s Claudine Gay and Penn’s Liz Magill, was swift and devastating; both were successfully pressured to resign. Still, while Professors Gay’s and Magill’s responses were widely criticized as tone-deaf, they were legally correct. Seaweed farming is the fastest-growing aquaculture sector in the United States. The development of sterile, selectively bred (sporeless) seaweed aims to support the economic viability of future large offshore seaweed operations and minimize the environmental risks of these operations to wild seaweed beds. Farmers have implemented analogous breeding techniques to control and enhance most terrestrial crops and common aquaculture products (e.g., oysters and carp). Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) disease is the most common congenital heart condition in the world, with a prevalence of 0.5 to 2.0 %, with the highest predominance in Caucasian men. This disease causes two leaflets to form instead of the typical three leaflet and can lead to many complications. This paper explores the global prevalence of BAV, highlighting observed variations between ethnicities and geographical background. It also examines the genetic factors contributing to the condition, including known hereditary patterns and emerging genetic insights. Tropical cyclones (TCs), often characterized by high wind speeds and heavy rainfall, cause widespread devastation, affecting millions of people and leading to economic losses worldwide. TC-specific research in Georgia is scarce, likely due to the minimal geographical extent of its coast and the infrequency of direct landfalls. Research on Georgia TCs does not account for storms that make landfall in other southeastern states (e.g., Florida) and continue north, northeast, or northwest into Georgia. BACKGROUND: The REHAB-HF (Rehabilitation Therapy in Older Acute Heart Failure Patients) trial demonstrated that a transitional, tailored, progressive rehabilitation intervention improved physical function, 6-minute walk distance, frailty, quality-of-life, and depression in older patients hospitalized for acute decompensated heart failure. This analysis assessed the impact of atrial fibrillation (AF) on intervention benefits.

METHODS AND RESULTS: Of 349 enrolled patients hospitalized for acute decompensated heart failure (mean age 72.7±8.1 years), 176 (50.4%) had AF. Participants were randomly assigned to 12-week rehabilitation intervention or attention control. The primary outcome was Short Physical Performance Battery score at 3 months.
