Children with disabilities often experience reduced opportunities for meaningful peer play, which can negatively influence their physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Early childhood environments play a critical role in supporting inclusive participation, yet many barriers—physical, social, and environmental—limit access to developmentally rich play throughout the school day. The purpose of this capstone project was to develop, implement, and evaluate a Tier-1, school-based program designed to increase meaningful play opportunities for preschool children ages 3–6, with and without disabilities.

Adults with visual impairments often experience decreased independence, safety concerns, and reduced confidence in daily occupations, particularly during meal preparation. This capstone project aimed to develop and implement an occupation-based educational program to support safe and independent cooking for adults with visual impairments. A needs assessment was conducted at Envision Dallas, resulting in a program focused on meal preparation and the use of adaptive strategies. The program consisted of twelve structured lessons delivered through a combination of individual sessions and group-based instruction. Outcomes were measured using pre- and post-session questionnaires, informal observation, and participant and family feedback. Results indicated improvements …

Design and create an educational program for occupational therapy practitioners working within hospital environments, patients, and occupational therapy students on evidence grounded, occupation-based sleep activities to use with patients in inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. The educational program will contain modules focusing on the importance of sleep for overall health, how sleep impacts recovery, common environmental and personal factors impacting sleep, and interventions to help improve patient sleep. These educational modules and interventions will focus on the specific client and environmental factors within the occupational therapy scope of practice (American Occupational Therapy Association, 2020).

Regulation of the digital economy is receiving increased attention both domestically and internationally, but too little scholarship exists assessing the degree to which these new rules effectively support economic, social, and sustainable development. This Article advances a micro-macro framework for assessing digital regulation and its development dimension, including digital inclusion and measures to address the digital divide, the protection of human rights, and the operationalization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The role of chromatin biology and epigenetics in disease progression is gaining increasing recognition. Genes that escape X chromosome inactivation (XCI) can impact neuroinflammation through epigenetic mechanisms. Our previous study has suggested that the X escapee genes Kdm6a and Kdm5c are involved in microglial activation after stroke in aged mice. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We hypothesized that Kdm6a/5c demethylate H3K27Me3/H3K4Me3 in microglia, respectively, and mediate the transcription of interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5) and IRF4, leading to microglial pro-inflammatory responses and exacerbated stroke injury. A broad coalition has formed to oppose restrictive zoning laws. According to this coalition, zoning is largely to blame for the current housing crisis facing the United States, and to increase the housing supply, cities across the country should embrace upzoning—that is, loosen zoning laws to allow for greater density. Like many other well-intentioned policy changes, upzoning has the possibility for negative unintended consequences. Among those consequences is noise pollution. In recent decades, noise pollution has gone largely undiscussed in the United States. Public order offenses—public intoxication, sleeping outside, etc.—seem trivial, but they have enormous consequences for marginalized populations. These are the offenses that justify coercive police interactions, as well as entry into the procedural morass of the criminal legal system. Accordingly, these offenses have received extensive scholarly attention, with decades of research addressing their vagueness and their impact on urban communities of color. But no work has been done to survey how much of this conduct is criminalized and at what jurisdictional level—city or state. This study explores the impact of UK transnational education (TNE). The research is based on analysis of survey data from 550 UK TNE alumni augmented with interviews of 27 UK TNE graduates. As transnational education (TNE) continues to expand – across borders, institutions, and delivery models—so too does the imperative to understand its impact. This extends not only to students and graduates, but also to the local communities in which TNE is embedded. This paper explores how policy aims in mathematics curricula appear in classrooms and, crucially, how the resulting pedagogical practice affects the nature of mathematics itself. Whereas there have been many studies of policy and its relationship with teachers’ practices, few have examined epistemological effects; what mathematics becomes as it is translated from an educational, and political, intention into classroom activity. To focus the study, we examine reasoning as a central idea in mathematics, in the English primary (5-11 years) context. These findings have been provided by peacebuilders across countries, conflict contexts, types of peacebuilding work, and across age, sexual orientation, education level, disability and migration status. Abstract Through the distribution of secret key information among several parties, threshold cryptography improves the security of cryptographic systems by preventing any one entity from possessing the entire secret key and requiring a threshold number of participants to carry out cryptographic operations. This paradigm not only mitigates single points of failure but also ensures fault tolerance in the presence of compromised or unavailable parties. Goal Statement: The goal of this social change portfolio is to decrease the stigma of seeking mental help through addressing culture, norms, or systems within Fort Riley, Kansas, that contribute to stigma and suicide risk while using preventative measures to reduce suicide ideation and risk.

Significant Findings: This project focuses on reducing counseling stigma to prevent suicide among military personnel and veterans at Fort Riley, Kansas. Despite available mental health services, 44% of soldiers report fearing career impacts if they seek help, highlighting the need for cultural and systemic change (Irwin Army Community Hospital, 2024). Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S. and 6th in Texas. South Texas counties have higher diabetes rates than state and national averages. This complex, progressive disease affects multiple body systems and can lead to serious complications, especially in the lower extremities. Uncontrolled diabetes is often associated with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), foot infections, and lower extremity amputations (LEA). 江户前期，東渡日本的浙江籍文人陳元贇與日蓮宗僧元政詩歌贈答往來，唱和盈帙並合編爲《元元唱和集》。該集是東亞漢文學史上的第一部中日人士唱和專集，既見證了士僧之間神交心契、塤篪相應的深厚友誼，又呈示了明清嬗替時期與江户漢文學交流互動的多元樣態和詩藝圖景。書翰往來與詩歌唱和交際功能的耦合，不僅在文學場域產生了雙重疊加效應，同時也俾使“元元唱和”活動得以跨時空延續。“元元”唱和詩歌在抒寫日常生活、自然四時、行旅思歸與讚頌親友之情等層面，多向度地映現了中日漢詩的同源異流特徵。作爲近世中日文化交流史上的詩誼典範，通過對“元元唱和”及唱和集内容的尋繹，可覘其中含藴著豐富的文學文化價值。

In the early Edo period, Chen Yuanyun (陳元贇, 1587-1671), a scholar from Zhejiang who traveled to Japan, exchanged poems with Gensei (元政, 1623-1668), a monk of the Nichiren sect (日蓮宗), and their poems were compiled into Yuan Yuan changhe ji (《元元唱和集》). This collection is the first special collection of Chinese and Japanese poetry and poetry in the history of East Asian Chinese literature. It not only bears witness to the deep friendship between a scholar and a monk, but also presents the diverse forms and poetic landscape of exchanges and interactions with Edo Chinese literature during the transition period …
