Incivility is a major factor polluting healthy work environments today. AACN (2005) standards for promoting healthy work environments promote the use of skilled communication as opposed to discourtesy. Students in a perioperative elective practiced communication in an uncivil setting, and afterwards, felt better prepared to deal with matters of incivility.

Nursing professionals (nurses and nursing technicians) perceived their work environment as favorable and they did not reported differences between categories about perceptions of the nurse work environment. The nurse work environment was perceived differently among the three included hospitals, with better scores to the hospital which holds accreditation certification.

Psychiatric registered nurses experience unique workplace stressors. Yet, little is known about job burnout in this population. The proposed research addresses this gap in knowledge by testing a model examining the impact of structurally empowering work environments on job burnout and subsequent patient care quality among psychiatric registered nurses.

Background: Functional characterization of single nucleotide variants (SNVs) involves two steps, the first step is to convert DNA to protein and the second step is to visualize protein sequences with their structures. As massively parallel sequencing has emerged as a leading technology in genomics, resulting in a significant increase in data volume, direct visualization of SNVs together with associated protein sequences/structures in a new user interface (UI) would be a more effective way to assess their potential effects on protein function. Corporate law is undergoing an explosion of governance by private ordering. With increasing frequency and creativity, the charter and bylaws of public corporations are being used as tools for restructuring key aspects of corporate governance. The current focus of parties, courts, and scholars has been on the facial validity of these efforts. In light of courts’ willingness to uphold corporate governance contracting, legal battles will morph from validity challenges to interpretation disputes.
