Objective: To investigate the proposed positive association between hormonal contraception (HC) use and depression incidence. Design: Literature review. Method: A search across CINAHL Plus with Full Text and PsycInfo databases was conducted to find three prospective cohort studies with a focus on HC use and depression which were evaluated individually and collectively. Results: Three studies were found that met search criteria: de Wit et al., Johansson T et al., Skovlund et al. Archives West is a regional aggregation of descriptions of archival collections held by institutions in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West. While many similar regional aggregations have struggled to reach sustainability, Archives West is one of a few that is fully funded by its participants, and continues to grow in both scale and scope. We hypothesize that there are unique cultural qualities of the Archives West community that have supported its growth, including a philosophy of empowering participants, transparent budget processes, clear statement of value to resource providers, and maintaining expectations that all institutions will contribute through service and fees.

In 2024, the Supreme Court decided the case of United States v. Rahimi. The Court, unpersuaded by Rahimi’s objection regarding federal law which prohibited an individual subject to a domestic violence restraining order from possessing a firearm, decided the restriction was constitutional. While the holding of this case represents a win for survivors of domestic violence, the legal reasoning plants itself of flimsy concepts of history. The Court utilized a historical analysis test and looked to precedent rooted in social customs, legislation, and court holdings. In this paper, we introduce a notion of free probability over the scaled hyperbolic numbers. Scaled hypercomplex numbers {D_t} _t∈R are constructed as sub-structures of scaled hypercomplex numbers {H_t} _t∈R under the scales (or, the moments) of the set R of real numbers.We show that if t < 0, then the classical free probability theory covers our free probability on {D_t} _{t< 0}; if t > 0, then our free probability on {D_t} _t>0 is represented by the free probability over the classical hyperbolic numbers D = D₁; and if t = 0, then the free probability on D₀ is actually over the …

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a mental health condition that affects many women after giving birth but tends to go untreated. Research has identified that nutrition has an essential role in neurological health, including iron, folate, and the B vitamins. However, recent research regarding PPD and dietary interventions is limited. To address this gap, a 12-week-long pilot randomized controlled trial is proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of a text-based nutrition education program, encouraging dietary vitamin B12 intake, on reducing PPD symptoms in women 2-6 weeks postpartum. 128 participants will be recruited from 15 different Miami-Dade WIC clinics. This study examines how Murray State University students in the Journalism and Mass Communications department engage with information and interpersonal trust through the lens of the Two-Step Flow of Communication. Using a quantitative survey, participants reported how they receive and evaluate information across six domains: politics, healthcare, education, international conflict, religion, and campus news. The survey also explored participants’ own perceptions as “opinion leaders” within their social networks. Findings reveal that coworkers, family members, and religious associates were consistently rated as high-trust sources of information. This study looked to collectively investigate the relationships of both fitness/sexual activity attitudes with a need for social approval, while also determining if biological sex could play a role in either of these relationships. Additionally, loneliness and mental well-being were examined with the aforementioned variables. Predominantly white (82.5%) females (75%) data were analyzed after completing an online survey (N = 40). Loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) rely on sandy beach habitats for successful reproduction, yet nesting success is strongly influenced by physical beach features. This study examines the impact of beach morphology on nest survivorship across six nesting beaches in Horry and Georgetown counties, South Carolina. Three key hypotheses were tested: (1) nests placed at higher elevations exhibit greater survivorship, (2) nests located further from the recent high tide line experience higher survivorship, and (3) overall beach morphology influences nesting behavior and outcomes. Although working memory (WM) capacity has been highlighted in many theories of first-language (L1) and second-language (L2) reading comprehension, some scholars argue that its importance may be overstated and that existing findings are still inconclusive. Even with extensive research since 1995, the literature has lacked a thorough quantitative review of these results. This study shows that WM capacity is positively related to reading comprehension. The current secondary meta-analysis examined the relationship between WM capacity and reading comprehension in both L1 and L2, using two authoritative meta-analytic datasets: Daneman and Merikle’s (1996) for L1 and Jeon and Yamashita’s (2022) for L2. …

Purpose: The aim of this article is to identify and analyse the basic models of funding research and development infrastructure, as well as the challenges associated with them.

Methodology: The research methods used include interdisciplinary literature studies (economics, law, management), regulations and reports, as well as interviews with stakeholders.

Results: Four models for financing R&D infrastructures embedded in the state aid regime were identified: scientific, mixed, experimental, and economic. National experiences with their application were discussed. Their characteristics, challenges, and risks were presented. Discrepancies in terminology were noted, and directions for their interpretation were suggested.

This study examines the U.S. Travel Advisory and its economic impact on foreign nations, with a focus on Turkey between 2016 and 2024. Grounded in the theories of functional and asymmetrical interdependence, this approach employs a mixed-methods design, combining quantitative analysis of tourism revenue, GDP, and GNI with qualitative examination of geopolitical events that may raise or lower the Travel Advisory rating. Trace Mineral Supplementation Strategies For Beef Cattle During Preconditioning And Feedlot Receiving, Madeline G. Mcknight

Beef cattle routinely undergo a variety of stressors within the preconditioning and feedlot receiving phases which may impair animal performance and health. Trace mineral supplementation, either through dietary or injectable sources, is proposed to mitigate these effects through metabolic and immune system support. Two systematic reviews and meta-analyses were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of two different oral supplementation methods, organic (OTM) and inorganic (INR), and injectable trace mineral (ITM) solutions on average daily gain (ADG) and morbidity. Across 20 studies, OTM supplementation increased ADG (P = 0.01) when compared to INR, but did not affect morbidity (P = 0.92). …
