Healthcare is only a protective factor regarding health outcomes if it is used. While differences exist across various populations regarding healthcare utilization, this study focuses on people born outside of Canada, specifically landed immigrants (permanent residents), using the Canadian Community Health Survey 2017/2018 (CCHS). Those born outside of Canada are an increasingly large segment of the Canadian population. Therefore, their healthcare use represents an increasing portion of healthcare utilization. For a variety of sociodemographic and systemic reasons, utilization rates for this population are likely to vary. The current climate for trans folks in the U.S. remains increasingly hostile and many researchers have called attention to the "joy deficit" within the existing trans literature (Shuster & Westbrook, 2022). This study investigates what trans individuals are currently doing to survive, thrive, and resist in a belligerent socio-political climate. To answer this, five community conversations with 25 participants were held using a semi-structured conversation guide. Within the analysis, the central theme that emerged was that trans individuals are using their communities to create radical futures. This article examines beliefs and perceptions related to new arrangements imposed by compulsory telework on skills and performance management practices, as well as identifying related advantages and disadvantages associated. This paper draws on 17 in-depth interviews using the collaborative interactive action research method. The 2023 Missouri Department of Mental Health’s Spring Training Institute was held June 18th-19th in Lake Ozark, Missouri. This training sought to educate various professionals, staff, and consumers of the Division of Behavioral Health and the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Subject matter tracks included trauma, self-care, suicide prevention, and ethics to broaden knowledge and enhance the understanding of the critical services provided to the citizens of Missouri. Over 1,000 behavioral health providers from across the state were in attendance.

Through a state grant-funded multicultural needs assessment, researchers from a U.S. southeastern state university captured the voices of underserved populations related to their unmet needs and recovery journey from the non-medical use of opioids and other substances. Specific voices of African Americans, Latinx, mature adults, veterans, people who are homeless, college students, and individuals within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ+) communities were captured utilizing design thinking protocol in focus groups. Participants recommended that providers be culturally responsive in disseminating information and providing affirming care. A political discussion has recently erupted over the return of migrant kayayei (head porters) from Northern Ghana. Return migrants were studied meagrely with regard to their reintegration process, skills acquired at their destinations, and chances for productive engagement. Turnover among public child welfare leaders is prevalent. Across the eight QIC-WD intervention sites, leadership turnover was one of the most common implementation challenges observed by the QIC-WD team. Leadership changes can disrupt the implementation of a workforce initiative by shifting agency-level priorities, the organizational climate, or key staff.

Child welfare leaders may be appointed or hired in many different ways in different jurisdictions. In some states, the Governor appoints a cabinet-level child welfare director who oversees a stand-alone agency. To limit research, our focus will be on children living in the United States who have been physically sexually assaulted. While the influx of Middle Eastern migrant groups continues to grow around the world, displaced Iraqis make up a significant portion of this inflow as they flee Iraq’s internal conflict and corruption, leaving behind political, economic, and environmental disparities. The 2011 National Household Survey found that Canada is home to 49,680 Iraqis, with more than 37,000 refugees who arrived between 2003 and 2018. A qualitative study was used with a Grounded Theory approach to better understand how people witnessed climate change events, what people’s emotional responses were, and what calls for action they had to respond to climate change in the USVI. Due to the rising concern of problem video gaming, the DSM-5 has suggested including Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) as a possible new behavioral addiction and proposed nine criteria to assess IGD. In response, a number of measurement instruments have been developed based on the DSM-5 IGD criteria. This presentation will discuss results from a systematic review that evaluated psychometric properties of these measures. Systematic search identified 22 measures. Meta-analysis revealed that 3.1% of the general population and 6.4% of video gamers had IGD. The estimated prevalence rates largely varied across different measures.
