This collection is composed of photographs taken from two albums. The first album appears to depict members of the Harris family, with the textual matter folder of materials found in that album including a page that states, “Presented to Jane/Janie Harris by her Father as a Christmas Gift, December 25th, 1886” and a newspaper clipping about Evangelist pastors speaking in Baltimore. The second album is about the Thornburg (sometimes spelled Thornburgh) family. Photographs are primarily portraits in the cabinet card format and mounted on board, with only a few group portraits.
