When considering modes of delivery of public services, traditionally people depend on the government to supply these goods and services. Citizens believe in the social contract and that it is the duty of the government to deliver services to the public. However, beginning in the 1970s, the traditional form of public goods delivery moved away from strictly government distribution, towards market delivery in hopes of greater responsiveness and ability to deliver at a lower cost. Asset management planning in Ontario has evolved since the early 2000s and Ontario Regulation 588/17: Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure came into effect on January 1, 2019. The requirements of the regulation are different for small municipalities, being those having a population of less than 25,000, than for large municipalities. The burden of undertaking large-scale change initiatives, specifically those that are externally initiated, can be especially difficult for small municipalities that often lack the resources and specialized staff to address these changes. This study explores the dynamics of ‘bottom-up’ policymaking at the municipal level by analyzing the policy response of the local government to unsanctioned events, such as the annual Port Dover Friday the 13th Motorcycle Festival (PD13) from May 1981 to November 2019. Using this event as a case study, the project seeks to answer the following questions: what has been the local government’s policy approach to PD13? What factors explain this approach and are there alternative approaches to the one chosen? This identifies existing programs utilized for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) within the professions of fire, ambulance, and law enforcement, as well as dispatchers of these services in local municipalities, state, and federal governments. PTSD is commonly associated with military personnel; however, this mental illness impacts a far greater population including emergency first responders. Research completed includes a comprehensive literature review on the subject incorporating historical context along with past and current treatment modalities. Since 1999, Catholic Charities Fort Worth has served the community of Fort Worth and its surrounding 28 counties. CCFW is part of the Catholic Charities USA formed in 1910. The goal of CCFW is to end poverty for 10,000 families by the year 2026. In the last one hundred years, the U.S. federal government has spent trillions of dollars and operated thousands of programs all aimed at ending homelessness and helping the poor. Executive Summary

The vegetation inventory project at Niobrara National Scenic River (NIOB) classified and mapped vegetation within the park administrative boundary and estimated thematic map accuracy quantitatively. The project was conducted over a four year period from the summer of 2015 to the winter of 2019. Located in north-central Nebraska, approximately 76 miles of the park is designated as a wild and scenic river. The vast majority of land within the NIOB administrative boundary is private or state-owned.

Executive Summary

The National Park Service (NPS) Natural Resource Condition Assessment (NRCA) Program administered by the NPS Water Resources Division evaluates current conditions for important natural resources and resource indicators using primarily existing information and data. NRCAs also report on trends in resource condition when possible, identify critical data gaps, and characterize a general level of confidence for study findings. This NRCA complements historic resource assessments, is multi-disciplinary in scope, employs a hierarchical indicator framework, identifies and develops reference conditions/values for comparison against current conditions, and emphasizes spatial evaluation of conditions and GIS products.

This article argues despite opportunities to learn valuable strategic lessons from Denmark’s effort in the Afghanistan War (2001–14), Danish civil authorities implemented a comprehensive approach policy that failed to establish a bridge to lessons learned by the military. Denmark’s experience in the Afghanistan War demonstrates promises and perils of lessons learned processes.

Yet, we lack the understanding of how organizational capabilities shape different forms of political engagement in trade and professional associations.
