Feasibility Study Of Consolidating Public Safety Answering Points In Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village And Richmond Heights, Ohio, Daila Shimek

This study found that – based on certain configurations of communities and cost considerations – it is economically viable to consolidate public safety answering points (PSAPs) in Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village and Richmond Heights, Ohio. When comparing 2012 staffing and noncapital costs to estimated staffing and noncapital costs for a consolidated PSAP, the consolidated PSAP would provide an estimated collective reduction in staffing and noncapital costs of ranging from $775,400 to $1.19 million. On the 15th of January 2014 at [International demining organisation] task CBU 849, an uncontrolled detonation of a US M series M42 or M46 sub-munitions occurred while International demining organisation] searcher [Victim No.1] was cutting the vegetation and led to an injury with him and the site supervisor [Victim No.2].

[Victim No.1] sustained injuries from fragmentations of the detonated submunition in the head, in both eyes and in the right jaw. Whilst The supervisor [Victim No.2] got injuries from the fragmentations in the left thigh, elbow of the left hand [arm] and small fragments in the left eye.

Teaching Notes for Basra: Strategic Dilemmas and Escalation of Force Options, by John Hodgson.

The events in Basra in the spring of 2003 illustrate a “hybrid” conflict with elements of conventional and unconventional warfare: humanitarian assistance, managing IDPs, security operations with multiple state and nonstate actors, all occurring simultaneously in the same geographic area and period of time. In that regard, the situation in Basra in late March and early April 2003 presented a worst-case scenario both for military commanders and civilian leadership.
