Path Planning For Mobile Robot Based On Angle Search, Yaru Wang, Dexin Yao, Zengli Liu, Yi Peng
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: The angle search algorithm for angle-controlled robots is proposed to increase the path search speed and optimize the path length. The algorithm effectively finds a path in static surroundings by performing an efficient search in a specific dimensional range based on the position of the robot and the target point. Firstly, search angles are predetermined according to the characteristics of the environment in the grid map. Then, the estimated angle of the robot's surrounding grid is computed. Finally, a new extension point is chosen by comparing the estimated angle to the search angle, demonstrating the usefulness and viability of …

This paper makes a comparative analysis of the two digital technology means, extracts their technical connotation and characteristics, and then integrates them to explore the application mode, application time and application occasions in the field of equipment T&E. Taking the satellite for example, by constructing the digital architecture of equipment …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To explore the production decision-making problem of the electrification transformation in the domestic automobile industry faced by automobile manufacturers, different decision-making models under two production scenarios are constructed for the secondary supply chain composed of manufacturers and retailers under the background of a dual-credit policy. The electric energy consumption of new energy vehicles and consumers' preference for new energy are introduced. The Stackelberg game is applied to obtain the optimal production decision and income analysis of each member in the supply chain under different decision modes in different production scenarios. The results show that the in-depth implementation of the …
Parallel Multigrid In Time For Chaotic Dynamical Systems, David Alan Vargas
Parallel Multigrid In Time For Chaotic Dynamical Systems, David Alan Vargas
Mathematics & Statistics ETDs
Despite the fact that Parallel-in-Time (PinT) methods are predicted to become necessary to fully utilize next-generation exa- and zettascale machines, there are currently no known practical methods which scale well with the length of the time-domain for chaotic problems, due to exponential dependence of the condition number on the fastest chaotic timescale. I present modifications to the coarse-grid equations along with a novel rediscretization approach which together greatly improve convergence of the multigrid reduction in time (MGRIT) algorithm and allow the first known PinT speedup for a chaotic PDE. The novel Local Shadowing Relaxation (LSR) is presented as an alternative …

Multi-Case Study Of Left-Flank Boundaries Within Supercells, Peyton B. Stevenson
Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
This study investigates the prevalence and significance of forward-flank convergence boundaries (FFCBs) and left-flank convergence boundaries (LFCBs) in shaping the structure and intensity of supercells, using observational data from various field projects. Unlike previous research focusing on individual cases, this study examines a diverse range of cases to provide comprehensive insights into the relationship between these boundaries and supercell characteristics such as intensity, longevity, and tornadogenesis. By analyzing high-resolution surface data, the research addresses the frequency, location, and intensity of these boundaries, and their impact on pseudo vertical vorticity, pseudo convergence, and density gradients. A total of 228 boundary identifications …

A Feasibility-Preserved Quantum Approximate Solver For The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem, Ningyi Xie, Xinwei Lee, Dongsheng Cai, Yoshiyuki Saito, Nobuyoshi Asai, Hoong Chuin Lau
Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) is an NP-optimization problem (NPO) that arises in various fields including transportation and logistics. The CVRP extends from the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), aiming to determine the most efficient plan for a fleet of vehicles to deliver goods to a set of customers, subject to the limited carrying capacity of each vehicle. As the number of possible solutions increases exponentially with the number of customers, finding high-quality solutions remains a significant challenge. Recently, the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA), a quantum–classical hybrid algorithm, has exhibited enhanced performance in certain combinatorial optimization problems, such as …

Harnessing Social Media For Disaster Response: Intelligent Identification Of Reliable Rescue Requests During Hurricanes, Wael Khallouli
Engineering Management & Systems Engineering Theses & Dissertations
Hurricanes pose a significant threat to both human lives and infrastructure. Decision-makers face substantial challenges during such events, as they must act quickly to address victims’ needs. Social media platforms provide a valuable source for quick and real-time information. Recent hurricane events have shown that people turn to social media to call for help when official communication channels, such as 911, are overwhelmed. However, extracting actionable information from the massive number of messages posted on social media is challenging. Furthermore, verifying social media messages posted by the public is a critical concern for disaster response practitioners, making them hesitant to …

Enhancing Evolutionary Computation Through Phylogenetic Analysis, Chenfei Peng
Scholarly Horizons: University of Minnesota, Morris Undergraduate Journal
In this paper, we will provide an overview of the paper “Phylogeny-informed fitness estimation for test-based parent selection” by Lalejini, et al. [7] Phylogenies, or ancestry trees, provide a detailed look into the evolutionary journey of a population. In evolutionary computation, a phylogeny can represent the progress of an evolutionary algorithm through a search space. Although phylogenetic analysis is mainly used to deepen the understanding of evolutionary algorithms after they have been run, this study explores its potential use in real-time to enhance parent selection during evolutionary searches. The research by Lalejini, et al. introduces the concept of phylogeny-informed fitness …
