G91-1024 Two Crops In One Year: Relay Intercropping, Gary Lesoing, Russell Moomaw, Charles A. Francis
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
This publication covers crop variety selection, weed control, and other cultural practices for relay intercropping a crop like soybeans into growing winter wheat or oats. Multiple cropping refers to growing two crops on the same field during the same year. One method of multiple cropping is doublecropping, which is the growing of a second crop after harvest of the first crop. In Nebraska, where opportunities for doublecropping are limited, relay intercropping is a possible alternative. In relay intercropping, two crops are in the field at the same time during part of the season. A small grain is usually relay intercropped …

The role of the Rangeland Management Branch is to promote the sustained economic use of the rangeland resource. It provides research and extension services to the pastoral industry, provides advice on the condition of the range resource to Government and provides technical information on rangelands to other rangeland managers. A principal objective to be met in fulfilling that role is the development and promotion of economically efficient place systems that conserve the rangeland resource. At the inaugural Pastoral Soil Conservation Districts Conference in Meekatharra in May 1987, pastoralist delegates emphasized the importance of achieving that objective within the various soil …

A Guide To The Identification And Control Of Insect Pests In Ord Peanuts, S.E. Learmonth
A Guide To The Identification And Control Of Insect Pests In Ord Peanuts, S.E. Learmonth
Biosecurity research reports
Since peanuts were first grown commercially on the Ord Cockatoo sands in 1979/80, insects have generally been of minor concern but changes in the importance of some insects have occurred to the point where insecticides are required. Therefore, it is important that growers be able to recognize insects in their crops. Such is the objective of this guide which also includes some general information on the biology, feeding habits, methods of detection, and control of the more common insects.
