The Impact Of South-South Fdi : Knowledge Spillovers From Chinese Fdi To Local Firms In The Cambodian Light Manufacturing Industries, Pisey Vicheth Aug 2018

The Impact Of South-South Fdi : Knowledge Spillovers From Chinese Fdi To Local Firms In The Cambodian Light Manufacturing Industries, Pisey Vicheth

Lingnan Theses (MPhil & PhD)

The study of the extent to which incoming FDI results in ‘spillovers’ (technology, R&D, management practices and know-how) has so far yielded only mixed results, and research has largely been restricted to north-north and north-south interactions; this study develops a model of knowledge spillovers based on previous literature and extends inquiry into south-south FDI by investigating spillovers from Chinese FDI to the Cambodian garment and light manufacturing industries. Several significant factors including the nature and extent of FDI linkages, local industry absorptive capacity, nature of the network relationship, and local firms’ learning orientation have been found to influence the extent …

Customer Perspectives On Sales Strategies: A Relational Approach, Juliana Catherine White Aug 2018

Customer Perspectives On Sales Strategies: A Relational Approach, Juliana Catherine White

LSU Doctoral Dissertations

Relationship marketing strategies have long been known to affect salespeople and the customers they serve. However, there is still much to learn about the mechanisms that drive such buyer-seller relationships. This research examines how a salesperson’s behavior, relational orientation, and individual disposition dynamically interact to influence customers in the business to business marketing environment. Data collected from the customers’ point of view reveal several unique salesperson competencies and strategies that affect the buyer-seller relationship. The final dataset (n = 206) included customers’ observations about their salesperson and perceptions of relationship quality. The key findings suggest that the perceived quality of …

A Meta-Analytic Investigation Of The Relationship Between Anthropomorphism And Consumers’ Responses: Effects, Mechanism, And Boundary Conditions, Franklin G. Velasco

Marketing Dissertations - Archive

Almost one in three brands sold to adults and more than five in six brands sold to children use some form of anthropomorphic representation in promoting their products. Marketers probably hold an inherent belief that anthropomorphism increases consumer preference for their products. Extant research, however, offers no clear evidence to support this. Such mixed findings suggest that this is a prolific and complex problem that could benefit from a synthesis of research on the topic. In response to this call, this dissertation presents two essays applying the meta-analytic approach to understand where the inconsistency comes from and to identify the …
