Social Media Marketing Use In Georgia’S Institutions Of Higher Education, James Kelly

Thanks to this great utility, institutions of higher education around the world are using social media to interact with and market themselves to faculty, students, and even prospective students. The Effects Of Popular Music In Television Advertisements On Branding, Amanda Jillson Apr 2014

The Effects Of Popular Music In Television Advertisements On Branding, Amanda Jillson

Honors Projects in Marketing

Have you ever found that the music a company chooses helps you understand its brand better, and did you eventually find yourself becoming a loyal customer? The goal of this project is to investigate whether or not connections like these occur and, if so, why they happen and what they mean for advertisers. More specifically, the study examines the influence of music in television advertisements on the last three steps of the brand building process: brand imagery, brand feelings, and brand resonance. The purpose of the research is to discover the extent to which popular songs used in television commercials …

[Sabbatical Report], Joanna Phillips Apr 2014

[Sabbatical Report], Joanna Phillips

Sabbatical Reports

Research suggests that 2.4 billion conversations about brands occur daily in social media. Managers consistently cite consumers being negative as the number one fear upon entering social media, yet few organizations have policies in place to handle negative comments and there is a lack of research focusing on how to strategically handle negativity from consumers on social media. My sabbatical project addresses this paucity in the marketing literature by developing a construct called "Consumer Social Voice," defined as public complaining behavior attempting to change the operations of an organization.

Fostering Fair And Sustainable Marketing For Social Entrepreneurs In The Context Of Subsistence Marketplaces, Tina M. Facca-Miess, Nicholas J. C. Santos Apr 2014

Fostering Fair And Sustainable Marketing For Social Entrepreneurs In The Context Of Subsistence Marketplaces, Tina M. Facca-Miess, Nicholas J. C. Santos

Marketing Faculty Research and Publications

In recent years, in-depth, on-the-ground research has generated many insights into the nature and functioning of subsistence marketplaces and the people who operate in them. Such knowledge is bound to be useful to various companies and organisations, as they seek to engage such marketplaces, particularly for marketing managers, who quite likely have not had education or experience in marketing in such impoverished settings. This paper complements these practical insights with a normative ethical framework, presented in the marketing literature and labelled the integrative justice model (IJM) for impoverished markets, so as to synthesise a new framework for fair and sustainable …

Imsa360: Spring 2014, Imsa Fund

IMSA Fund Reports

Pay It Forward

The Greek playwrights wrote of the beautiful selfless concept of "paying it forward" as early as approximately 300 B.C. Later, Ben Franklin and Ralph Waldo Emerson also wrote of its honor. The actual phrase "pay it forward" likely was first penned by the author Lily Hardy Hammond in 1916.

Saying "thank you" to someone who gave you a gift of money or kindness, but who does not expect or even wish to be repaid, by returning the favor to someone else...thus "paying it forward"...is alive and well at IMSA. This issue of 360 showcases several acts of …

Common Grounds Café, Michaela Bolotin, Kristina Campano, Samantha Wagner, Amjad Talib

Public & Community Service Studies Student Scholarship

Students participating in an Alternative Spring Break trip to Nicaragua in 2012 focused their exploration on coffee growing and production; they visited a Fair Trade grower, and became interested in developing a longer-term project. Simultaneously, the College’s School of Business began sponsoring an Entrepreneurship Society, while the Feinstein Institute for Public Service and the Smith Hill Community Development Corporation began convening an economic development incubator group as a project of the newly opened Providence College/Smith Hill Annex. These multiple interests coalesced as students, faculty and community came together to open Common Grounds Café.

An Examination Of The Role Relationship Marketing Plays In The B2b Model Between Chinese Manufacturers And American Distributors, Ran An Apr 2014

An Examination Of The Role Relationship Marketing Plays In The B2b Model Between Chinese Manufacturers And American Distributors, Ran An

Masters Theses

Relationship marketing has been a heated topic in the communication paradigm. The primary relationship is the one between a supplier or provider of goods or services and buyers and users of those goods or services. In order to facilitate it, other stakeholders in the network of relationships may have to be involved. This thesis examined the relationship between Chinese manufacturers and American distributors by a pilot qualitative study. Social exchange theory was used as a scope to analyze the relationship. Nine participants from both sides answered computer-mediated interview questions. Business ethics and worldviews are important factors that businessmen look for …
