This collection consists of three photograph albums documenting Rubie K. Lee's work with the Methodist Church’s Women's Missionary Council (WMC) in Korea from the 1920s through the early 1930s. The photographs depict Korea under Japanese rule, showcasing its people and landscapes. Albums also contains photographs of the Ogeechee River flood of 1929, as well as an extensive collection of color postcards from Lee’s travels to Korea, Japan and China.

Japan has been facing fertility decline over the past several decades. Indeed, this decline constitutes a severe demographic crisis due to its birth rates falling to record lows year after year. Low birth rates have been correlated with economic and societal instability. As Akram (163) posits: “The combination of unfavorable demographics and poor economic growth has resulted in a secular decline” which has no current sign of shifting based on current policy. 戲曲之情感寄托：夢境幻象與天仙謫降——葉小紈《鴛鴦夢》探析, Chung Nga Sin

《鴛鴦夢》由葉小紈（字蕙綢，1613-1657）創作，為中國戲曲史上現存最早由女性劇作家創作的作品。同代著名劇作家沈自徵盛讚它為「補閨閣所未有」，肯定了它在女性戲曲史上開創先河的成就。目前對於《鴛鴦夢》的研究均從葉小紈的生平背景出發，分析劇本中所表現的「姐妹情誼」，並以「女性劇作」的角度給予評價。然而，拋開了對葉小紈「第一位女性劇作家」的濾鏡，《鴛鴦夢》的作品本身仍然有很多可以討論的空間，本文嘗試回歸文本本身，探索《鴛鴦夢》是否還有未盡之處，重新審視《鴛鴦夢》在中國戲曲史的所在之位。

本文以「夢境書寫」與「謫仙敘事」為雙主軸，突破性別視角的單一框架，回歸文本內部結構分析，重新定位《鴛鴦夢》在戲曲史與文學傳統中的意義。在「夢境」敘事方面，劇中通過「以情補夢」的敘事轉向，將短暫現世昇華為情感的永恆性。又延續了了前的「謫仙」敘事，提出了「情證」敘事，角色將情感體驗轉化為力量，支撐他們達成從「短暫」到「永恆」的轉變。

Institutionalisation And Institutional Evolution: A Model Of Selecting Government Officials In Ancient China, Haiwen Zhou

The evolution of institutions in selecting government officials in ancient China reflected efficiency considerations and increased power concentration in the hands of the ruler. Selecting government officials in ancient China became more rule‐based over time, and standardisation and centralisation were some key features of this process. In this dynamic model, a higher volume of transactions, shown as the number of candidates needed to be evaluated, leads to institutionalisation, which has a higher fixed cost but a lower marginal cost in processing each transaction. How geography affects the choice of institutions is studied in a theoretical model. In this model, nations are located around a circle. Rulers compete through choosing tax rates, the level of military spending, and the degree of formality of institutions. Geographic condition is captured by population density. It is shown that societies with higher population densities choose lower tax rates, establish more formal institutions, and give government officials lower levels of autonomies than those with lower population densities do. A higher level of external threats induces a ruler to choose a higher level of autonomy for officials. The model is …

Glossed Over is a collection of interdisciplinary artworks exploring my Korean-American diasporic identity and how gender, queerness, religion, neurodivergence, and internet culture intersect within that experience. While offering flexibility and broad accessibility, this format raises concerns about replicating the emotional and social richness of offline events. This study investigates the motivations, experiences, satisfaction, and future intentions of Thai fans attending K-pop hybrid concerts via live streaming. This thesis explores the everyday social integration experiences of Russian women married to Korean men and living in urban South Korea. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Everyday Multiculturalism and Multicultural Space Making, the study investigates how cultural differences are negotiated in daily life through practices such as language use, food preparation, parenting, household routines and everyday social interactions. This research examines the transculturation of Vietnamese K-pop fans’ practices through the case study of Call Me By Fire Vietnamese Version, analyzing how these practices shape domestic fandom and contribute to Vietnam’s entertainment industry. Using a mixed-methods approach (an online survey, twelve in-depth interviews, and digital ethnography), the research applies Transculturation Theory (Ortiz, 1940) and Participatory Culture (Jenkins, 1992, 2006; Jenkins et al., 2016) to conceptualize the show as a contact zone where global fan cultures intersect with local norms. In modern Japan, the shift from the traditional term irezumi (入れ墨) to the English loanword tatū (タトゥー) reflects more than just language change—it reveals deeper cultural and social transformations. Loanwords, or borrowed words from other languages, often enter a language through cultural contact, adapting to fit local linguistic and social norms. As the Linguistic Society of America notes, “Most languages have been influenced at one time or another by contact” (Winford, n.d., p. 1). Building upon comparative principles, this semantic reading of Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s essay In Praise of Shadows and J.M.G. Le Clézio’s early writings illustrates how both the Franco-Mauritian author and the Japanese writer problematize modern Western perception laden with concepts stifling flexible imagination through the mysterious worldview of light/darkness. They also simultaneously express the hope that another way of life leading to liberation is possible. This paper explores how two authors with Korean heritage use similar metaphors to write about the same historical traumas. I engage close readings of two novels—Min Jin Lee’s Pachinko and Yu Miri’s The End of August—to interrogate how each author uses images of food/food preparation as well as images of sexual encounters to draw links between exploited bodies and exploited land. Ultimately, I find that the differences in these two authors’ approaches reflect their distance from modern centers of empire. 本文目的透過對比李碧華《胭脂扣》與白先勇《遊園驚夢》二例，以男女情愛角度觀台灣與香港離散書寫異同。

中國、香港和台灣三地具有密不可分的關係。當中香港和台灣文化脈絡相近，有高度的相似性。一方面，香港曾經從「中心」的中國脫離出來成為英屬殖民地。另一方面，國民黨在1949年共產黨的擊退之下，逃亡台灣，而導致台灣與大陸有政治上的分離。兩地本地歷史和文化都曾經被抺去，失去話語權，成為一個「無身分」的地方。所以兩地人民一直努力在這片空白之中尋找主體性和身分認同，建立與本地之間的聯系，在與中國中心的「離散」中重新摸索「根」之所在。在《胭脂扣》和《遊園驚夢》中，同以底層女性如花和藍田玉的愛情悲劇隱喻了香港及台灣在夾縫地帶身世飄流，離散之下艱難和迷茫的處境。

由於兩地有許多共性，能提供良好的比較基礎研討離散書寫的異同，而前人沒有比較此範疇的研究，因此本題目具研究必要及價值。

段注「引伸假借」初探, Weixi Du

「引申」和「假借」是兩個詞義發展的概念，我們從小到大都有接觸，深信大家都能分辨清楚「引申」是與字的本義有關；「假借」是與字的發音有關。然而，當「引申」和「假借」連用——成為「引申假借」時，大家又能否知道其真正含義呢？清代大儒段玉裁在其著作《説文解字注》共有44處使用「引申假借」這個術語：：14處：「引申叚借」、6處「引伸叚借」以及24處：「引伸假借」：。惟文章篇幅有限，本文遂以《説文解字注》裏提及最多的——24處：「引伸假借」條目作為基礎，依照現今學者對於「引申」和「假借」的定義，對《説文解字注》「引伸假借」的條目作出初步探究，為此24處「引伸假借」作分類考證以及意義辯證的研究。

身處都市的你，可曾見過一類看似正常，甚至善於社交的人，他們感性、共情能力強，但又時常在掙扎於親密和疏遠間；他們想被人愛，又害怕與人親近，忽冷忽熱的態度讓他人捉摸不透的同時，更時刻消耗著他們自身的心力，「這不算病」、「不過是矯情的藉口」的輿論讓他們猶疑自己的感情是否真的出了問題，更不敢承認，他們只能壓抑並以某些「怪癖」躲避不受控的情緒，往往這類人被歸類為「迴避型依戀人格」，而這個人，又會不會是你？

主角若安在即將大學畢業的期間，抱著不得已融入同齡人圈子的心態，憑一顆堅守原則、特立獨行，甚至有些偏執的心，在都市中前後邂逅了琬、婭等以前他不會接觸到的人，也遭遇了人生第一次至親逝世的變故，慢慢察覺到自己內心的異樣，他既求變，又身陷「迴避」，在一次又一次的矛盾中步向茫然。

迴避型依戀人格大體上是個很廣的議題，現實中不同性格的人「迴避」的程度和表現各有不同，小說主角未必能盡現迴避型依戀的特徵，但當中呈現出來的行為和心理活動大多是筆者基於生活經驗以及觀察杜撰而成，礙於孱弱的文筆與創意，可能無法深入人心，若讀者讀到某處情節或某句話時能獲得一絲共鳴便足夠了。

馬華電影《五月雪》中大馬華人的想像共同體, Bingxin Xie

《五月雪》導演張吉安，作為馬來西亞新浪潮電影的代表導演之一，時常以其獨特的敘事基調，介入大馬華人在馬來西亞的生存情況，其對文化、宗教、語言的大膽描摹構成了馬來西亞地域華人獨特的美學風格。張吉安自09年投入電影行業以來，作品屢獲國際殊榮：首部短片《義山》入圍第22屆釜山國際影展，電影《南巫》入圍金馬創投，而《五月雪》更斬獲金馬獎九項提名及紐約亞洲電影節最佳影片等榮譽，奠定了其在馬華影壇的重要地位。

在多民族共生的馬來西亞社會語境中，語言文化生態的多元性構成了馬華電影的重要美學特徵。而對於華人導演而言，這種多語言文化的並置現象不單只是國家文化生態的直觀反映，更是大馬華人族群生存實態的隱喻性象徵不同語言的碰撞與融合，已經在當下重要的傳播媒體──銀幕空間中構建出了具有地域特質的文化景觀，形成區別於傳統華語電影的「在地化」模式，進而催生出獨屬於大馬華人的文化特色。

本文將應用「華語語系研究」中的語言考察視角，加以文本細讀，剖析《五月雪》中華人文化的表達策略，重點考察其「異質性」如何作為文化特點，揭示大馬華人如何在多重文化張力下形成其「想象共同體」的獨特形態。本研究將特別關注大馬華人的身份認同與文化內部的異質性特徵，探討這種「非純粹」性與大馬華人想像共同體之間的關係。

一輛會移動的孤島, Yat Daisy Mak

在這篇散文中，作者詳細記錄了「我」在成長過程中，人生不同的經歷，以及面對生離死別的感情。「我」在回顧之前往事時，不僅是對過去的眷戀，更是對生活、友情、愛情，以及自我的探索。從一開始親人離世，到後來嘗試接受離別的課題，更甚主動提出分開的關係。最後更求問：在自我的探索中，到底我是一個怎樣的人？這些經歷又造就了一個怎樣複雜的自我形象？

在文章中，不難看出一個人為適應不同的生活和關係變化而有了成長的機會。每段關係不但是作者的回憶，更是「我」在一次次面對不同人生課題時的反思、學習和成長，思考難道人生的盡頭便是孤獨嗎，作者最後更把自己比喻為一輛慢慢前進的巴士，一座經歷滄桑歲月的孤島。

陳傑由不會下雪的城市乘坐十幾小時的飛機去找莫建，他移民的朋友。他們像以前一樣去露營，卻因為誤食了沒煮熟的牛肝菌而陷入了輕微中毒。舊友的到訪不但為莫建帶來了家鄉的食物，同時也喚起了他深埋的陰影。中毒而產生的幻覺讓莫建的潛意識開始浮現，曾經的經歷幻化成夢境再次湧現。這片本不該有熊的樹林出現了棕熊，並且對他們窮追不捨，破壞他們的營地，更企圖將他們困在樹林之中。恐懼，似曾相識，夢中莫建所做的一切都由潛意識所主導，對應著他的過往。他，似乎曾經面對過棕熊。

本文故事背景為在香港的朋友去國外探訪近年移民的朋友，呼應近年來因為政治運動而爆發的移民潮。故事的寫法上參考了海明威的部分作品，嘗試在省略背景描述的情況下，以對話，人物行為以及其夢境帶出故事背景以及人物經歷，講述莫建移民後內心的不安定感，對於香港政治景況的不信任感，以及曾經參與政治運動卻失敗的無力絕望感。並結合自身經歷，例如出國探望朋友，露營的小故事等等增加故事的細節以及說服力。

余華先鋒小說的敘事策略──以《十八歲出門遠行》、《河邊的錯誤》及《現實一種》為例, Simei Zeng

在20世紀80年代中國先鋒文學的浪潮中，余華早期作品《十八歲出門遠行》（1987）、《河邊的錯誤》（1988）和《現實一種》（1988）體驗了敘述形式實驗和暴力敘述的先鋒性，以顛覆性敘事策略塑造個人寫作風格，現有研究大多聚焦於單篇文本，或是研究余華轉型後的作品，如《活著》和《在細雨中呼喊》，較少研究其先鋒敘事策略。

本文採用文獻分析法及文本細讀法，分析三篇作品的先鋒敘事策略，並結合80年代文學轉型期的歷史語境，解釋余華對傳統文學的顛覆。研究發現，余華通過對傳統文學規範的破壞、荒誕的建構，以及非常理寫作手法等先鋒敘事策略，將其小說主題昇華至社會層面及歷史創傷，為先鋒文學提供具有價值的參考。

本研究突破單篇解讀的局限，揭示余華早期創作形式及思想的關係，為先鋒文學的歷史定位提供新視角，探究如何以創新敘事回應社會的精神危機。

離散與植根──以廖克發的《菠蘿蜜》為例, Hoi Ka Kelly Tam

古往今來，全球人口常有流動，移民、定居早已成普遍現象。華人的離散經驗成就無數當代馬華文藝經典，華人的身份早已被不斷重構。在馬華導演廖克發的視野中，離散華人不再是單一焦點，禁忌歷史中和當代來自各國的離散者被聚集在《菠蘿蜜》，他的人文關懷讓隔代各國的離散者被發現，打破長久以來着重於離散華人的馬華文藝傳統。

談及「離散」，過去有學者提出「離散有其終時」，認為離散者到了異地應該落地生根，擺脫離散。筆者認為廖克發呈現了離散者在離散與反離散之間的遊離狀態，離散者到了異地定居，卻無法融入當地，甚至面臨被驅逐的可能。有見及此，本文將以《菠蘿蜜》的三種離散經驗，探討離散者的鄉愁與植根困難，反思離散者在異地植根的可能性。

本論文首先分析電影中的人物離散的原因，研究廖克發如何將兩代離散者連繫。第三章討論鄉愁和困頓的呈現，分析離散者與原鄉的關係及在異地的生存困境。第四章將先分析離散者如何逃離苦悶，再分析逃離的成效，最後反思離散者在異地植根的可能性。

論蹇先艾三、四十年代鄉土文學的轉變──以《山城集》為中心, Yan Tung Yip

二十世紀初的中國作家群中，貴州籍作家寥寥無幾。蹇先艾憑着描繪貴州鄉土的風俗民情，在文壇佔有一席之地。其鄉土小説可分為三個時期：早期、成熟期和解放後，各階段都以故鄉貴州為敍事中心。《山城集》輯錄了成熟期至解放前的短篇小説，反映出三四十年代的思想轉折——由鄉愁情結到現實批判。貴州的地理閉塞軍閥橫行和戰亂構成其轉變之催化劑。繼而逼迫作者面對現實，脱離精神家園，進一步催化其探尋出路的決心。

故此，本文以《山城集》為中心，結合時代背景，探析作者思想轉變的根源所在。以此歸納作者在語言風格人物形象和鄉土書寫的轉變。從作者的寫作策略，分析其思想深化和鄉土色彩之重塑。

論周曉楓的生態女性主義書寫──以《有如候鳥》中鳥類意象為例, Siqi Wang

中國當代作家周曉楓以「小說式散文」著稱，其作品融合小說情節的跌宕起伏與散文的非虛構內核。動物題材是她創作的重要部分，通過動物與人的互動，揭示中國當代社會的現象和問題，並融入女性經驗書寫，探討動物與女性之間的神秘聯系及其對生存空間的影響。《有如候鳥》（2017）通過女性生命經驗，講述女性與候鳥的聯系，是中國當代文學中首次顯著體現生態女性主義的作品。

本文從生態女性主義理論出發，分析《有如候鳥》中的三個代表性鳥類意象：大雁、鷗鳥和鴿子。大雁象征女性意識的啟蒙；鷗鳥隱喻女性在當代社會中的多重生存處境；鴿子則關聯女性的離散與再生。這些意象展現了女性與自然的共同困境，反映了中國當代女性面臨的壓迫與挑戰。

本文分為五部分：緒論介紹作家背景、理論框架及研究意義；第二至四章分別分析三種鳥類意象；結語總結全文觀點。

1970年代是香港本土意識形成的重要時期，青年作家透過文學創作，提出以「生活化」的書寫方式記錄香港社會現實，建立香港主體文化意識。本研究以也斯和范俊風合編的《大拇指小說選》（1978）為研究對象，探討兩個層面的議題：一、「生活化」如何作為七〇年代本土意識的基礎；二、這種「生活化」的本土意識如何在文學上具體呈現。通過《大拇指小說選》中六篇代表小說，包括李孝聰的〈意外〉、惟得的〈白色恐怖〉、革革的〈上面的日子〉、思絃的〈阿金的一天〉、小藍的〈來去〉和梁秉鈞的〈找房子的人〉，討論這些青年作家閱讀本土的方法，從刻劃本土符號、再現日常經驗與社會批判意識三個維度，剖析「生活化」書寫與本土意識的互動關係，呈現七〇年代文化主體性的建立。

本文分為四個部份。第一章介紹《大拇指小說選》及其研究現狀，界定本文的研究意義；第二章梳理「本土意識」與「生活化」書寫的定義與歷史脈落，以此作為討論《大拇指小說選》的切入點；第三章承接上文，進入分析六篇代表小說中「生活化」與「本土意識」的具體實踐；第四章為總結。
