This case study investigates ways educators assess student artwork while focusing on the assessment criteria of five different instructional approaches in art education. This qualitative inquiry is informed by participant questionnaires and an analysis of participant assessment criteria that teachers implement in their classrooms. This paper observes assessment strategies from within the classroom, and analyzes the assessment strategies implemented on student Artsonia projects. (Note. Artsonia is an online platform for art teachers to create portfolios for each student and share artwork with family, staff, and the community.) My study aims to understand how students’ beliefs and feelings about their racial, ethnic, and cultural identities impact the creation of artwork in the art classroom. This is achieved by examining students' interactions with their teachers in the art classroom through autoethnography and ethnography. This study finds that students express their complex cultural identities through artmaking by incorporating visual culture and lived experiences connected to their families and the cultures they grew up in. This research provides art teachers with practical strategies to design and implement more culturally sustaining art lessons so they can better understand their students’ cultural identities.

In this research, I utilize an ethnographic and autoethnographic methodology to understand such instructional practices that are utilized to support English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and ways that these practices can be implemented into an art curriculum, in addition to an ethnographic and autoethnographic study, examining and reflecting on the impact language has on bicultural students who are placed in programs that support ESOL. As a bicultural adult, I compare my past and present experiences of understanding, supporting, and adapting language for ESOL students to better support their needs in the art classroom.

This paper discusses experiences from school-based needs assessment within a Participatory Action Research (PAR) project aimed at facilitating quality education in public schools of rural Nepal. Being often a first stage in the process of research-action, Participatory Needs Assessment (PNA) offers space for community members’ perceptions and attitudes toward their collective needs. This article reproduces the Lyrische Suite [no. 1], op. 23, by the Austrian composer Rudolph Süss, with a short introductory commentary. First published in Vienna around 1921, this suite is a fine example of the enthusiasm for the guitar in early twentieth-century Austria and Germany, which resulted in much music that has been overlooked, overshadowed as it was by the emerging Spanish repertoire.

In pivotal moments of history like the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical to attend to and preserve the stories of different people experiencing the same phenomenon in their own ways. This project analyzed the public’s emotional experiences during the pandemic using methods of narrative and poetic inquiry. After reading 105 entries from the Pandemic Journaling Project, an online platform where people anonymously published journal entries reflecting on their pandemic experiences, narratives were categorized based on ten prominent emotional themes: anger, anxiety, fatigue, fear, loneliness, longing, loss, loss of control, stress, and uncertainty. Abstract: This abstract discusses the challenges and issues related to the implementation of Environmental Public Policies (EPP) for Protected Natural Areas (PNA) in Mexico from 1970 to 2018. EPPs aim to achieve sustainable development by balancing economic, environmental, and social dimensions while reconciling conservation and the use of natural resources with restrictions on their use and economic compensation to communities. However, the results of this study reveal that the establishment of PNA has been unilateral and without consensus, leading to limitations on communities' use of the environment without granting them economic compensation or productive alternatives. This is largely due to an overemphasis on official records and notable events, neglecting the rich tapestry of everyday experiences and personal interactions that significantly shape personalities. To address this shortcoming, this article introduces a multi-disciplinary methodology, The Holistic Archival Personality Profiling Model (HAPPM), which integrates a diverse array of archival materials, including personal correspondences, social media footprints, and family memorabilia. Neither the U.S.-China tech war nor the U.S.-led global campaign aimed at Chinese tech firms seemed to be able to reverse the trend. This essay explores the doctrine of divine simplicity (DDS) within the framework of classical theism, addressing its compatibility with the plurality of divine attributes. This essay outlines classical theistic arguments for God's existence that are essential to understanding DDS, and establishes that denial of either DDS or the proof of God's existence implicitly negates the other. The DDS maintains that God is absolutely simple, devoid of parts, and physical or metaphysical, affirming His utter transcendence. Famine is a huge problem for societies, even in the modern world. Throughout history, famine has reared its ugly head and brought about demographic and societal collapse. Maritime historians have argued for a highpoint in maritime activity during the antebellum years. This peak was fed by Americans travelling on tall wooden sailing ships in international trade, in the whaling industries, and as members of the US Navy. The prowess of the American Merchant Marine faded quickly in the middle of the nineteenth century due to military losses during the American Civil War and due to the rise of steamships and steel hulls.
