Recent advances in Generative AI (GenAI) present promising opportunities to enhance user interview tasks, such as transcription and sentiment analysis. However, existing GenAI-powered interview tools tend to operate in isolation, supporting only discrete stages of the interview process. This fragmentation constrains designers' abilities to conduct fluid and responsive interviews. To explore how GenAI might be effectively integrated throughout the interview workflow, we conducted focus groups with eight UX design practitioners. In the context of accelerating globalization and growing frequency of extreme climate events, the preservation of regional cultural heritage and the pursuit of climate-responsive design present substantial challenges. In this study, a “Nature-Technology-Culture” tri-dimensional collaborative framework is proposed, offering a novel paradigm for the intelligent transformation of traditional craftsmanship. First, expert and non-expert participants viewed a drugstore without display shelves with a VR google and tested a tablet-based OTC medicine vending system by having an experience of buying a cold medicine with the vending system. This study investigates diegetic prototyping as an alternative approach to enhance design innovation beyond the incremental scope of User-Centred Design. This study presents a co-design process for developing tools that foster critical data literacy in K–12 education through dialogic learning opportunities. Adopting a research-through-design approach, we explore how teachers and interdisciplinary researchers can co-create con textually grounded, pedagogy- informed learning artefacts. In this paper, we document the co-design process, describe the resulting artefacts, and report classroom observations involving 40 students and two teachers using these tools in a primary school. Our findings highlight: (i) how artefact-enabled dialogic learning opportunities shaped children’s learning experiences and (ii) the process and outcomes of interdisciplinary co-design with teachers. Contemporary generative AI tools exhibit systematic biases rooted in their Anglo-American development context and training data, prioritizing Global North perspectives in design and implementation. Drawing on jugaad—an Indian approach to resourceful problem-solving—this paper critically evaluates how AI solutions disconnected from local contexts perpetuate technological Through a mixed-methods study involving 52 participants across workshops, systematic AI testing with over 300 images, and expert discussions, the authors compare human and AI responses to identical problem-solving scenarios. This study investigates how healing effects evolve in sustained chatbot use and how interaction design can enhance outcomes for adolescents. This systematic review examines the literature on doctoral education in art and design. We analysed 1,086 publications to categorise different approaches to art and design doctorates. Our analysis reveals three distinct doctoral types aligned with different educational aims: knowledge development doctorates emphasising systematic research and theoretical contribution; social utility doctorates focusing on professional practice and practical application; and individual development doctorates prior it ising artistic self-discovery and creative expression. This study used co-creation to integrate existing sustainable design strategies into the product development process of a large manufacturer, Stanley Black & Decker. The co-creation process involved understanding the existing product development workflow; finding what sustainable design methods, mindsets, activities, and tools were valued by the company team; integrating them into the existing workflow; using life cycle assessment (LCA) to quantify resulting benefits; and revisiting one year later to check for retention of the co-created workflow. While Speculative Design methodologies have gained prominence in design curricula, they often struggle to imagine future scenarios beyond apocalyptic narratives, leading to a form of "imaginative paralysis." As industrial robotics increasingly enters creative and design domains, there is a growing need for educational platforms that support training in industrial robot control, planning, and system configuration. Existing training systems often assume that learners have knowledge of code-based robotics programming, which limits accessibility to creative practitioners. This study examines the three-year outcomes of Taiwan’s Industrial Design-Driven Innovation (IDDI) program, a government initiative aimed at elevating enterprise design maturity and fostering cross- sectoral innovation. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes quantitative data from over 88 subsidized enterprises and qualitative insights from in-depth interviews. Results indicate significant improvements in design investment, output growth, brand establishment, international awards, and patent applications, particularly among SMEs and startups. The program’s strategy— integrating research, talent, policy, and funding with multilevel cross-disciplinary collaboration—has accelerated industrial transformation and enhanced innovation capacity.
