Cash management is fundamental to sustaining uninterrupted local service delivery and supporting credible budget execution. In West Java, municipal cash holdings exhibited fluctuations over 2019–2023, with only a limited number of districts/cities consistently maintaining cash holdings ratios above the operational sufficiency threshold. This study examines (i) the determinants of cash holdings Capacity and (ii) the relationship between cash holdings and expenditure effectiveness. Cash Holdings Capacity is classified as sufficient when the cash holdings ratio exceeds 100%, whereas Expenditure Effectiveness is classified as effective when the effectiveness ratio exceeds 90%. Transmission Of Geopolitical Shocks To Firm Behavior: A Synthesis And Integrative Model, Daniel S. Andrews, Harald Puhr, April Knill

This study examines the transmission of geopolitical shocks to firm behavior. While previous research has primarily focused on the direct relation between shocks and firm behavior, we provide a more nuanced understanding by conceptualizing geopolitical shocks as disruptions that evolve through explicit and implicit channels to influence firm behavior. Based on a systematic review of 159 articles, we identify the key mechanisms that transmit the impacts of a geopolitical shock. Our findings reveal that geopolitical shocks manifest in institutions and their lower-level mechanisms, and such transmission is neither uniform nor random. Furthermore, we categorize firm behavior into distinct response modalities. …

The landlord cross-moved to amend the petition. The court, interpreting RPL § 217 and § 231-c, found that the GCEL notice is akin to a predicate notice requiring strict compliance. Failure to include the GCEL notice with the petition is an incurable and fatal defect. DENND2B is a DENN (differentially expressed in normal and neoplastic cells) domain-containing protein that has important roles in regulating the cell cycle, cell division and ciliogenesis, but to date has not been associated with any human disease.

Here, we report on 11 individuals with monoallelic variants in DENND2B with a shared constellation of features and perform in silico and in vivo zebrafish modelling of the DENND2B variants identified in these patients.

Features shared among these patients include developmental delay, intellectual disability and psychiatric/behavioural concerns, and episodes of psychosis and/or catatonia. Additional features common to our cohort include epilepsy, muscle weakness/hypotonia …

After a trial, the court granted the tenant's oral motion for judgment as a matter of law and dismissed the petition. The court found that the tenant, who had been in exclusive possession since 1986, was a tenant at will entitled to a 30-day notice under RPL 228, which the landlord failed to serve. The court also ruled that judicial estoppel did not apply, as the prior related proceeding was voluntarily discontinued without a judgment.

This article reports on the temperature dependent performance of a HEMT with an Al_0.62Ga_0.38N channel layer and an Al_0.84Ga_0.16N barrier layer grown by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition. The device in this report was measured at room temperature and elevated temperatures of 100–150 °C. The sheet resistance increased from 3.5 kΩ/sq (25 °C) to 5.4 kΩ/sq (150 °C), while the contact resistance remained nominally similar. Background/Objectives: Empagliflozin (EMPA) was repurposed for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) treatment via buccal delivery, exploiting novel nanofibers (NFs) integrating chitosan (Cs), silk fibroin (Fb), and poly(lactic acid) (PLA). Methods: EMPA-loaded Cs/Fb/PLA NFs were electrospun in different formulations to optimize the formulation parameters. The optimized formulation was then investigated for its enhanced in vivo effect. Results: Optimized nanofiber diameters ranged from 459 ± 173 to 668 ± 148 nm, possessing bead-free morphology confirmed by SEM and satisfactory mechanical properties. BACKGROUND: The optimal timing of cranioplasty (CP) following decompressive craniectomy (DC) for the management of traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains debated. Prior studies comparing early CP (EC) and late CP (LC) report conflicting outcomes, compounded by inconsistent timing thresholds and limited attention to effect modifiers such as implant material.

OBJECTIVE: To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing outcomes of EC (≤ 90 days) versus LC (> 90 days) after DC for TBI, with particular evaluation of ultra-EC (<  35 days) and implant material.

Background: Fibrinogen is a critical coagulation factor that plays an essential role in thrombosis and is elevated in individuals with chronic inflammation. Here, we used fibrinogen as a representative quantitative measure of pro-coagulant risk and evaluated metabolites associated with fibrinogen levels through non-targeted plasma metabolomic profiling (Broad and Metabolon platforms).

Methods: Our analysis included 10,533 individuals across six U.S. based cohorts representing diverse population groups. The cross-sectional relationship between each of 789 tested metabolites and plasma fibrinogen concentration was assessed with adjustment for relevant covariates such as age, sex, body mass index, and circulating lipoprotein levels.

• Dissolved Zinc (dZn) is an essential micronutrient that supports primary productivity in the ocean (Morel & Price, 2003).
• Dissolved zinc isotope ratios (δ⁶⁶Zn) help us understand the sources, sinks, and internal cycling of dZn (Bermin et al. 2006; Conway and John, 2014, Horner et al. 2021).
• The background deep ocean has a largely homogenous δ⁶⁶Zn composition of +0.45‰ (Conway and John, 2014), thus deviations away from +0.45±0.05‰ suggest dZn input, loss, or alteration (Fig. 1).

Disruption of lymphatic function underlies a broad spectrum of inflammatory and metabolic disorders, yet the hormonal pathways that regulate lymphatic biology remain poorly defined. GH, which is implicated in similar disease states, has an unclear role in lymphatic homeostasis. To address this gap, we investigated how chronic alterations in GH signaling alter lymphatic structure and function. In this brief, authors Harshita Sarup and Jess Carson offer an update on enrollment in the New Hampshire Care Scholarship Program and describe the age and geographic distribution of enrolled children. Using data from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, the authors confirm that enrollment more than doubled between December 2023—just before program eligibility was expanded in January 2024—and December 2025. More than 5,800 children, two-thirds of whom are under age five, are now served through the program, reaching each county of the state. Combinatorial methods for preparing polymeric biomaterials enable the rapid identification of materials useful for many applications in science, medicine, and engineering. In the work described here, we demonstrate that side-chain reactive polymers can be used as templates for the rapid preparation of a small library of diversely functionalized protein–polymer conjugates. The activated ester polymer poly(pentafluorophenyl acrylate) (PPFPA) was modified postpolymerization with substoichiometric equivalents of three hydrophilic primary amines to yield a library of amphiphilic, side-chain reactive copolymers. These copolymers were then conjugated to two receptor-targeting proteins, holotransferrin (hTF) and an engineered fibronectin-based protein (Fn3), through amine-activated ester coupling. Introduction: Each year, millions of people experience recurrent diverticulitis episodes. Elective sigmoid colon resection reduces the risk of recurrence, but The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons recommends individualising surgical decisions based on the impact of the condition on a patient's quality of life (QoL). However, no threshold for QoL impairment has been established to guide decision-making, and evidence comparing elective colectomy with medical management in terms of QoL limitation is limited. A new remote procedure call (gRPC) performance service is proposed herein, referred to as a gRPC-Perf service, which can enable a network operator to understand gRPC limitations for any gRPC service that the network operator intends to use between any two points in a network. The gRPC-Perf service may also be useful for troubleshooting gRPC performance issues (e.g., whether an issue is a client issue or a network issue based on direction of traffic).

Obesity, depression and social isolation rates are an increasing worry in the United States. As planners, we help shape the built environment, which can influence a person’s health outcomes. To assess the effects the built environment has on health outcomes, this paper looks at the percentage of park space, the population density and the national walk index score, combined with several demographic and socioeconomic variables in the Metropolitan Miami region. Small-conductance (K_Ca2.2) and intermediate-conductance (K_Ca3.1) Ca²⁺-activated K⁺ channels are gated by a Ca²⁺-calmodulin dependent mechanism. NS309 potentiates the activity of both K_Ca2.2 and K_Ca3.1, while rimtuzalcap selectively activates K_Ca2.2. Rimtuzalcap has been used in clinical trials for the treatment of spinocerebellar ataxia and essential tremor. While many families experience multiple etiologies of stress during a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, unique stressors arise for certain groups that are at higher risk for disparities in infant outcomes, including Latino families. The objective of this study was to explore the experiences of Latino families regarding support received in the NICU while their infant was hospitalized to identify ways to enhance the quality of care.

In this paper, a high-fidelity simulation framework is developed to assess the feasibility of tracking space debris using a large low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation equipped with onboard passive radar sensors. By exploiting illumination from a distributed network of ground-based transmitters, the constellation provides consistent line-of-sight access to debris objects at higher altitudes, enabling angles-only detection and tracking. This approach yields a scalable, automated, and cost-effective architecture for next-generation space surveillance and contributes to more resilient space traffic management. A complete angles-only passive-radar orbit-determination pipeline is introduced and demonstrated. Adverse fire regimes threaten biodiversity, potentially leading to population declines and increased extinction risk. Understanding how varying fire regimes affect threatened species is essential for effective ecosystem management, including in Western Australia where diverse ecosystems are exposed to wildfires, Indigenous burning, and prescribed fire. We compiled and synthesised data on the threat of adverse fire regimes to threatened animal taxa in Western Australia. Purpose: Mandibular osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is a severe late complication affecting patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) treated with radiation therapy (RT) that significantly impacts patients' quality of life and can require costly interventions. Although radiation dose is a key factor, other clinical and demographic risk factors also influence ORN development. Previous predictive models have primarily been single-institutional, limiting their generalizability. In this first analysis from the PREDMORN Consortium, we have aimed to reproduce existing statistical association and modeling analyses on the largest and most diverse mandibular ORN cohort worldwide to allow comparison with previous studies.
