Economic Activities And Gender Inclusiveness. A Case Of Maize Production In Tanzania And Integrated Research Review, Mirau Ndetaulwa Mbise

This study examines the participation of men and women in agricultural operations. The study aligns appropriately with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number five and the importance of engendering development regardless of the nation’s development level. Data were gathered using survey questionnaires and Integrated Research Review (IRR) techniques, and the production function was estimated. Results indicate that male-headed households dominated in the study area. A significant increase in maize production was observed, with more women participating. However, women's engagement in crucial agricultural activities was low. IRR indicates that female-headed households produce less compared to male-headed households. Females spent more time …

Rural Tanzania is increasingly experiencing a growing heterogeneity of land users, driven by demographic shifts, socio-economic changes, and policy transformations, all of which influence women's ability to maintain secure access to land. Customary practices such as marriage, inheritance, and communal property access are now being practiced alongside statutory frameworks, including land policies and the transformation of communal land into private property, often influenced by economic investments and land acquisitions. This study investigates the cultural beliefs, perceived causes, and treatment practices associated with epilepsy in Karagwe and Kyerwa districts of Kagera Region, Tanzania, through an anthropological lens. Using a qualitative case study design, the research explores how traditional and biomedical systems interact in shaping health-seeking behaviors and treatment outcomes among people with epilepsy (PWE). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with PWE, caregivers, biomedical practitioners, and traditional healers, selected via purposive sampling. Thematic analysis revealed that while biomedical practitioners frame epilepsy as a neurological disorder treatable with anti-epileptic drugs, access to consistent care is hindered by structural limitations such as …

This article assesses Tanzania’s level of compliance to international COVID-19 preventive measures, with a focus on the political, economic, and socio-cultural factors that influenced the adherence. A qualitative research approach with descriptive design were adopted. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 28 purposively selected participants, including healthcare workers and government officials from Dar es Salaam and Dodoma. Moreover, relevant documents from health sector were reviewed. Thematic analysis was performed using Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS). The rapid deterioration of global infrastructure necessitates precise and automated crack detection technologies for proactive maintenance. However, deep learning-based segmentation models often suffer from a scarcity of diverse, high-quality labeled datasets. This study proposes StyleSPADE, a novel conditional image generation model that integrates semantic masks and style images to synthesize realistic crack data with diverse background textures while preserving precise geometric morphology. To validate the effectiveness of the generated data, we conducted extensive semantic segmentation tasks using Transformer-based (Mask2Former, Swin-UPerNet) and CNN-based (K-Net) models. Peripheral neuropathy (PN) is a prevalent neurological disorder, affecting 26–39.2% of adults aged 65 and older due to peripheral nerve degeneration and associated conditions like diabetes. PN leads to sensory impairments, including diminished tactile sensation, increased fall risk, and mobility issues. Tai Chi (TC) is a low-impact exercise shown to enhance sensory function and balance in healthy older adults, but its effects on PN patients remain unclear. The purpose of this research was to examine if there are any variances in a female athlete’s ability to produce power, that could be correlated with the menstrual cycle phases. The study observed three elite female athletes throughout 13 weeks, collecting relative propulsive power and relative braking power data from their vertical jump performances which occurred multiple times a week. At the end of the 13 weeks, participating athletes were asked to download their personal Oura Ring data. This thesis treats marriage in Jane Eyre as the crucible of Jane's unique, experiential, and individually crafted faith. It examines marriage as the primary arena in which Jane's faith is shaped, tested, and, ultimately, fulfilled. Situated within Victorian Evangelical culture and restrictive gender ideology, the study examines how Jane’s spirituality is shaped through personal discernment rather than submission to institutional authority. Through close readings of Gateshead, Lowood, and Jane’s encounters with Rochester and St. John Rivers, the thesis demonstrates how Jane’s faith is tested against both passionate attachment and prescribed religious duty. Further research supports the therapeutic benefits in writing and reading poetry as a way to cope, find meaning, and make sense of it all, after the loss occurs. Turkish Journal of Mathematics

After a brief introduction of the basic concepts of ℤ₃-grading, the paper continues by introducing ℤ₃-graded differential calculus and ℤ₃-graded Cartan calculus. Then, using a matrix R which is a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, a new ℤ₃-graded quantum group and a ℤ₃-graded quantum space are introduced. The scheme of the ℤ₃-graded differential calculus developed on the algebra of functions on this quantum space is extended to the ℤ₃-graded Cartan calculus and all the results obtained are formulated using the matrix R.
