This study examined the relationship between mental health issues and interest in chemistry courses among Chemistry Education undergraduate students in federal universities in Southeast Nigeria (n = 2500). The research was motivated by increasing academic stress, perceived course difficulty, limited coping resources, and the influence of mental health on motivation, arousal, and self-efficacy. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. A correlational research design was employed. For victims of abuse, safety means hiding. Not just hiding themselves, but also their contact details, their address, their workplace, their roommates, and any other information that could enable their abuser to target them. Yet today, no number of name changes and relocations can prevent data brokers from sharing a victim’s personal information online. Thanks to brokers, abusers can find what they need with a single search, a few clicks, and a few dollars. For many victims, then, the best hope for safety lies in obscurity—that is, making themselves and their information harder to find.

Background

Running in real-world environments often requires using cognitive resources simultaneously with the motor task (dual tasking, DT). Limited existing evidence suggests that DT reduces running speed. Movement variability is essential for a healthy, adaptable motor system. DT has been shown to affect movement variability during walking. Nonetheless, it remains unclear how DT affects spatiotemporal, kinematic, and kinetic parameters and their variability during running.

The court denied the landlord's cross-motion to amend the defective notice of petition, holding that such a substantive error is a fatal, non-amendable defect, especially since the landlord had been on notice of the mandatory form for over five years. The petition was dismissed without prejudice, as the defect pertains to an element of the landlord's prima facie case.

After a trial, the court dismissed the petition with prejudice, finding the landlord did not establish good cause under RPL § 216[1][a][i]. While the tenant sometimes paid rent late, evidence showed consistent curing of arrears, and the tenant was fully current before the predicate notice. The court determined that for "failure to pay rent due and owing" under GCEL, chronic delinquency and prejudice to the landlord must be proven, which was not demonstrated here.

In this fact sheet, we examine the drought management options available to cattle operations on two Native American reservations in Nevada, the Duck Valley and Pyramid Lake Indian reservations. Specifically, we discuss the results of a study that evaluated the economic outcomes of two common drought response strategies: herd reduction and supplemental hay purchases. We also provide recommendations for ranchers regarding optimal strategies, i.e., those which would maximize profits for two rancher types, differentiated by their willingness to accept risk (risk-neutral) or avoid it (risk-averse).

Tampa Bay is highly exposed to compound hazards, as hurricane-driven storm surges and extreme heat events occur during Florida's summer months. Global studies project an increase in the frequency of these compound events (Zhou et al., 2024) as global temperatures and sea levels are on the rise (Sweet et al., 2021), yet globalscale assessments cannot capture local dynamics. We map storm surge flooding across Tampa Bay with future sea level rise projections and compare with surface temperature data to identify hotspots of extreme temperature and flooding. Background: Little was known about persistent sequelae of mpox before the 2022 multinational clade II mpox virus outbreak.

Objective: To characterize post-mpox sequelae 11 to 18 months after acute mpox diagnosis and compare outbreak-associated psychosocial and behavioral impact between at-risk persons who had or did not have mpox.

Design: Cohort study.

Setting: New York City, New York, and Houston, Texas.

Participants: Adults attending HIV, pre-exposure prophylaxis, or sexually transmitted infection clinics diagnosed with mpox during May 2022 to January 2023 (post-mpox) or at risk for but never diagnosed with mpox (no-mpox).

The emergence of β-lactamase–producing Gram-negative bacteria represents a major global challenge due to increasing resistance to β-lactam antibiotics. In this study, we performed in silico structural and functional prediction of a newly identified β-lactamase protein sequence obtained from a Gram-negative bacterial isolate. Homology modeling was used to construct a reliable 3D model of the protein based on structurally resolved β-lactamases. The model was further evaluated using stereochemical validation parameters. Molecular docking was conducted to assess binding affinity and interaction patterns between the predicted β-lactamase and clinically relevant β-lactam antibiotics, including ampicillin, cefotaxime, and imipenem. This study reviews the technical approaches of ODR, the current status of global and regional ocean data reanalysis systems developed in the world, and puts forward recommendations for the development of China's ocean reanalysis system.
