PURPOSE: Maternal psychological stress is associated with adverse obstetric and neonatal outcomes, including preterm birth and low birthweight. Warfare represents a significant source of acute and chronic stress, yet its impact on pregnancy outcomes remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the association between a 6-month period of continuous wartime exposure following October 7, 2023, during the "Iron Swords" conflict and preterm birth, neonatal outcomes, and obstetric management.

Background

Adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) are associated with increased hypertension risk. Black women experience higher rates of APOs and hypertension compared with White women, but whether APOs contribute to Black-White hypertension disparities remains unknown.

Methods

The nuMoM2b-HHS (Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-To-Be-Heart Health Study) prospectively recruited nulliparous pregnant people at 8 US centers (2010-2013) with follow-up 2 to 7 years postpartum (2014-2017). Race, which represents a social construct, was self-identified. The primary outcome was incident hypertension at follow-up. Accurate interpretation of Candida detection in women with vulvovaginal symptoms remains difficult, because organism recovery may reflect either clinically relevant infection or nonpathogenic colonization. We have recently demonstrated that the secreted fungal zinc-binding protein, Pra1 is responsible for driving the inflammatory immunopathology of VVC. We therefore reasoned that PRA1 expression by Candida albicans in the vagina may act as a diagnostic tool to discriminate between commensal colonisation and active disease.

To fill this gap, this study applies this approach to explore whether financial capability mitigates racial/ethnic disparities in economic hardship in the U.S.

Offshore energy systems present significant challenges in support structure design due to their scale and the strong coupling between aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, and structural subsystems. These interactions make traditional sequential modeling approaches inefficient for design exploration. Acausal modeling frameworks address this limitation by enabling direct integration of coupled subsystems without reformulating governing equations, improving computational efficiency while preserving physical fidelity. However, it remains unclear whether structural readiness or temporary policy expansion drives sustained reductions in reliance on the ED. This study integrates Andersen’s Behavioral Model of Health Services Use and Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory to examine determinants of Medicaid NTDC ED utilization and Tele-dentistry adoption.

This study looked at what happens when that gap is addressed in different ways during an eight-week business simulation at the University of Central Florida. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a nurse educational intervention about mutual goal setting on nurse engagement and self-efficacy for goal setting and the nurse/patient experience of goal setting.

Biofluorescence is recognized as an important form of visual communication, yet its function remains largely untested in many terrestrial species. In Eastern Red-Backed Salamanders (Plethodon cinereus), fluorescence of the postcloacal gland is a sexually dimorphic trait most strongly expressed in males. Because fluorescence can be displayed during territorial contests, we hypothesized that fluorescence in male P. cinereus would be positively related to resource holding potential (RHP) of territorial residents in the field.
