When first researched in the summer of 2024, this article sought to examine the theoretical inability of Colorado River Basin States to negotiate a new water deal in the wake of the Federal Government’s proposed intervention in 2023. Since pre-publication, a new administration has taken aggressive hold of federal agencies, the Basin States have still not reached an agreement to divide Colorado River water, and as 2025 draws to a close, the state of Colorado is possibly facing its driest winter in history. This project introduces an AI-driven web platform designed to transform the massive, often disorganized volume of YouTube comments into structured, actionable insights. In the current digital landscape, video creators and companies struggle to manually process thousands of user feedbacks. This application leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automatically scrape, analyze, and summarize the 'collective voice' of a video’s audience.

There is much learning by doing in this project. Children test out ideas and continuously adjust their thinking as they gain more knowledge about the material they are using. The sculpture is the material evidence of that back-and-forth process of evolving thought.

The NatureCulture collaborative study abroad course represents a central outcome of the Collaborative Research Grant and has undergone substantial conceptual, curricular, and pedagogical development. While finalization of a site-specific itinerary has been delayed due to unanticipated challenges in securing a stable and academically viable location, the collaborative course itself is fully designed and pedagogically complete. Grounded in interdisciplinary, team-taught instruction, the NatureCulture model integrates environmental humanities, creative writing, intercultural learning, and eco-pedagogy to foster place-based, experiential, and critically reflective learning. Within this framework, faculty have developed complementary courses that collectively serve students across multiple stages of the curriculum.

Introduction: Traditional service-learning study abroad programs offer pragmatic learning opportunities for students to advance the declarative knowledge promoted in the classroom setting into procedural knowledge that is applicable in authentic environments. Such experiential-learning opportunities are foundational elements in the development of autonomy-supportive behaviors required for transition from student to practitioner. Unfortunately, study abroad opportunities are not available to many students for a variety of reasons. Parental hesitancy, parental safety concerns, economic status and monetary constraints, physical disabilities and mobility limitations, dietary restrictions and food allergies, travel anxiety and mental-health limitations, and many other factors impede students from taking advantage of …

Untangling The New Deal Slogan’S Origin Stories, James Kimble Ph.D.

Existing scholarship on the emergence of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s new deal slogan is inconsistent and incomplete. This article constructs a revised history of the phrase by scrutinizing the contradictory stories of its origin. The investigation initially establishes the historical context by examining the phrase’s trajectory prior to Roosevelt. It then considers the various accounts of those who have been credited with coining the slogan on his behalf. Finally, the article recovers the indispensable contribution of Charles R. Macauley, who has become the forgotten man in debates over new deal’s murky beginnings.

Toxicology and Cancer Biology Faculty Publications

The presence of BRAF ^V600E mutations is associated with poor prognosis in colorectal cancer (CRC). Although the FDA-approved combination of encorafenib and cetuximab provides clinical benefit in this population, only 22% of patients respond and most eventually develop resistance. This study investigated the mechanisms of resistance to PLX8394, a second-generation BRAF inhibitor. Using primary and established BRAF ^V600E CRC cells, we show that the development of resistance to PLX8394 results in cross-resistance of cells to encorafenib. Moreover, the acquired resistance is associated with increased proliferation, invasion, and upregulation of lipid metabolism, including increased expression of fatty acid synthase (FASN), a …

Education is an essential and oft-overlooked part of the conversation about climate change. As I’ll demonstrate in this thesis, education shapes how the public understands climate change and creates environmental knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and intentions. Exploring and understanding climate change education allows us to understand how people form perspectives about climate issues. This topic is extremely important, but one we often gloss over when thinking about climate solutions. I analyzed three case studies of educational standards in the United States to understand how political context, writing focuses, and benchmarks impact the efficacy of climate change standards. Response Cost Token Economies Effectiveness On Increasing Responsiveness To Directions In Early Intervention Aba, Madison Polaski

The present case study analyzes the effectiveness of response cost token economies used in early intervention applied behavior analysis services in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Using a response cost, the researcher looked to decrease challenging behaviors consisting of physical aggressions towards peers and adults, while increasing responsiveness to instructions or demands given to the participant. Data from the baseline phase and intervention phase was compared to test whether the intervention was successful.
