The Legal Evidentiary Value Of Blockchain (Distributed Ledger Technology) In Proof, Omar Anjoum

Revue Marocaine de Droit, d'Economie et de Gestion (Moroccan Journal of Law, Economics and Management)

This article examines the probative value of blockchain (distributed ledger technology) in legal proof. It highlights the technology’s core features—decentralization, immutability, cryptography, and time-stamping—and assesses how they fit within rules of evidence, particularly the requirements of electronic writing and electronic signature. The study also discusses the extent of legislative recognition in Morocco and comparative systems, with a focus on identity attribution and the link between a digital record and its author. It concludes that blockchain records may carry increasing persuasive force, while full evidentiary equivalence requires clearer regulatory frameworks and trusted digital services to ensure integrity and reliability.

Background: Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in young adults is uncommon. The case of a 34-year-old male, post mechanical mitral valve replacement (MVR), who developed anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) despite therapeutic anticoagulation (INR 3.17), shortly after the initiation of diclofenac, highlights an important clinical scenario.

Case Presentation: The patient presented with atypical upper back pain and was diagnosed with anterior STEMI. Coronary angiography revealed a 100% thrombotic occlusion in the mid left anterior descending (LAD) artery. Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) was successfully performed. Traditional diagnosis depends on manual clinical assessment, which can be slow and subjective. An optimized and subsequently quantized model is required to provide a faster and more consistent diagnostic support tool. This paper proposes an optimized ResNet-18 architecture for the classification of six oral diseases. In this work, tin sulfide:samarium oxide (SnS:Sm₂O₃) composite films were deposited using a spray pyrolysis technique for room-temperature CO₂ gas sensing. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed a polycrystalline SnS nature of orthorhombic-phase crystallinity at 10 at.% Sm ions, while 20 at.% Sm induced Sm₂O₃ as a separate phase. Field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) induced uniform grains and increased the surface roughness, enhancing gas adsorption. UV-visible absorbance revealed band-gap narrowing. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis revealed vibrational band shifts, confirming the structural modifications. The 150-year-old bank regulatory system is under threat. Following the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Jarkesy, bankers have filed numerous lawsuits challenging the ability of the federal bank regulatory agencies to adjudicate cases in non-Article III tribunals. But unlike the agencies tasked with enforcing the securities, antitrust, and consumer protection laws, the banking regulators lack statutory authority to file cases in federal court. A decision invalidating their in-house adjudicative authority strips of them of any forum in which to file enforcement actions.

The rise of online health information has increased access to cancer resources but also amplified misinformation, creating trust gaps that threaten prevention, treatment, and health equity. This study examined how trust in cancer information sources, online information-seeking, and healthcare perceptions relate among U.S. adults. Guided by the health information seeking behavior, the socioecological model, and the structural influence model of health communication, data from the 2022 Health Information National Trends Survey (N = 6,197) were analyzed with logistic regression, mediation, and moderation modeling, controlling for demographics. Because greenhouse gas emissions continue to grow, it is increasingly challenging to limit global warming to 1.5 or 2.0 degrees Celsius. As such, there is a growing debate on whether or not to deploy geoengineering to reduce warming. Geoengineering is controversial, and many arguments have been raised against it, including the “playing God” critique. When understood through the philosopher Moti Mizrahi’s reinterpretation, the playing God critique does not eliminate the possibility of using geoengineering, but rather informs how its governance can be improved. We use Mizrahi’s interpretation of the playing God critique to claim that the existing governance literature lacks …

Conventional pedestrian navigation systems may not adequately account for the needs of users with mobility or sensory impairments, often suggesting routes with barriers such as stairs or poor pavement. This disclosure describes a system for accessibility-optimized navigation that can utilize a granular environmental data layer. This data layer can be populated from sources, for example, computer vision analysis, crowdsourcing, and municipal datasets, to annotate map data with accessibility attributes such as surface quality, ramp gradients, and tactile paving. Mechanical reliability testing of electronic displays may be limited by manual inspection methods. A system is described that synchronizes mechanical stress application with real-time optical analysis. An optical sensor, such as a camera, can monitor a display under load while a computing device (e.g., a server, personal computer, or smartphone) executes an algorithm to detect visual changes indicative of failure. Upon detecting a change that meets pre-configured criteria, for example a threshold for pixel brightness change, the system can generate and transmit a stop signal to the mechanical testing apparatus. Recombination rates vary across species, populations, and sexes. House mice (Mus musculus) present a particularly extreme example. Prior studies have established large differences in global recombination rates between M. musculus subspecies and inbred strains, with males exhibiting more extensive variation than females. The observation of sex-limited variation has prompted the hypothesis that male and female recombination rates may evolve by distinct evolutionary mechanisms in M. musculus. Here, we formally evaluate this hypothesis in a phylogenetic framework. We combine cytogenetic estimates of genomic crossover counts with published data to compile a large dataset of sex-specific crossover rate estimates totaling >6,000 single …

In this article, we discuss the interplay between adolescents' use of AI-Cs and their social relationships based on theoretical hypotheses driving research on digital communication and adolescent well-being. Migration is shaped by a complex interplay of political, economic, and social factors that drive individuals to seek stability and better prospects abroad. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has experienced significant emigration of its highly educated population, driven by political instability, economic challenges, and restrictive societal norms. This study explores how U.S. immigration policies affect the health and well-being of highly educated Iranian immigrants, with particular attention given to the impact of nationality-based restrictions on psychosocial outcomes. Industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology recognizes dozens of different constructs, including several individual differences, environmental variables, job attitudes, and work-related behaviors. It is, of course, necessary to retain a variety of constructs in order to adequately capture the complexities, subtleties, and diversity of work-related phenomena. But do the many constructs recognized by I-O psychologists all serve a useful purpose? Or has our field been too eager to welcome redundant, unnecessary constructs into the fold? Archival internships guided by the Rayfield Archives offer opportunities for future archivists, public historians, and other memory workers to gain hands-on experience working with historical records and their communities. Along with archival processing, exhibit curation, and metadata, interns can also learn to create authoritative Wikipedia entries for underrepresented members of the ISU community. From its early, grant-funded stages in 2020 to its current iteration as an interactive, guided project, the Wikipedia internship at the Rayfield Archives prepares students for inclusive practice in memory work in the classroom and the field.

Background: NICU graduates experience disproportionate developmental and health challenges. Their families face barriers to equitable care including access to coordinated follow-up services. Traditional medical education rarely exposes students to authentic interprofessional models of care that address these inequities. The Tracking Infant Progress Statewide (TIPS) program provides developmental, social, and medical follow-up for NICU graduates across Nebraska, bringing together physicians, nurse practitioners, child developmental specialists, and nurses in a single family-centered visit. Embedding third-year medical students into this setting models collaborative practice, builds understanding of interprofessional competencies, and fosters awareness of systemic inequities affecting NICU families.
