Traditional classification models often struggle to achieve optimal performance due to limitations in parameter tuning and adaptability to complex datasets. To address these limitations, this article introduces PROAnt, an innovative learning approach designed to enhance the robustness and efficiency of the PROAFTN multicriteria classification method. In this article, we demonstrate the feasibility of performing automatic technology computer-aideddesign (TCAD) parameter calibration and extraction using machine learning (ML), with the machine trained solely by TCAD-simulation data. The methodology is validated using experimental data. Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) with different effective anode workfunctions (WF) are fabricated with emerging ultrawide bandgap material, Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3), and are measured at various temperatures (T). Their current-voltage (I–V) curves are used for automatic Ga2O3 Philips unified mobility (PhuMob) model parameters calibration. BACKGROUND: Kratom use is rising, increasing the need for safety and tolerability studies of high-quality and well-characterized kratom products in humans. Kratom's risk-benefit ratio, recommended dose, treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs), abuse potential, and withdrawal require evaluation. Thus, the safety and tolerability of 4 escalating single and 15 daily dried kratom leaf powder doses in human volunteers were evaluated over 47 days in the largest controlled kratom-administration study to date.

This article critically examines the literature on global aid governance through a feminist lens, focusing on three key areas: epistemic power, organisational depoliticisation, and the ethics of accountability. The review reveals that the coloniality of knowledge in global aid governance creates epistemic hierarchies grounded in claims of objectivity and efficiency, thereby marginalising local voices. Meanwhile, processes such as NGO-isation and professionalisation have transformed activism into administrative compliance. However, within these structures, reflective agency can still emerge through negotiated autonomy and the politics of translation, allowing feminist organisations to maintain their political significance. BACKGROUND: Cyberchondria, a combination of the words "cyber" and "hypochondriasis," is a condition that is receiving increasing attention from clinicians and researchers globally. Researchers are currently using multiple instruments to quantify it. Furthermore, the instruments have been translated into multiple languages.

BACKGROUND: High-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) assays performed in the central laboratory have long turnaround times. This study evaluates the clinical performance of a novel bedside point-of-care (POC) hs-cTnI assay (i-STAT® hs-TnI) to aid in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction (MI).

METHODS: A prospective multisite cohort study involving emergency department (ED) patients with symptoms suggestive of acute coronary syndrome was conducted at 28 sites across the United States. Juvenile recidivism persists in the U.S. justice system, highlighting the need for effective reentry programs. However, limited research exists on juvenile justice professionals’ perceptions of program success. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore these professionals’ perceptions regarding the effectiveness of juvenile reentry programs in reducing recidivism. Guided by Bandura’s social learning theory, the study examined how observation and modeling influence youth behavior during reentry. The research questions focused on professionals’ perceptions of program effectiveness and how these perceptions impact recidivism reduction efforts. Pregnant women are a vulnerable population after disaster. Their health may be improved through community-based support programs in addition to their standard prenatal care. We conducted a prenatal peer support program, Mentors Offering Maternal Support (M-O-M-S), focused on improving mental health in hurricane-affected areas in southern Louisiana. M-O-M-S consists of six biweekly sessions covering pregnancy acceptance, maternal role identification, family and partner relationships, preparation for labor/fears around labor, well-being/safety of self and baby, and post-delivery health and maternal-infant bonding. This staff education initiative was designed for nursing personnel at an adult mental health clinic, aiming to address inconsistencies and inadequacies in suicide risk screening practices among health care providers. Despite regular patient interactions, staff frequently lack the necessary knowledge, confidence, and standardized tools to identify individuals at risk for suicide, leading to missed opportunities for early intervention. The existing gap in practice jeopardized patient safety, led to preventable harm, and highlighted the need for evidence-based screening protocols, such as the Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ) tool, to facilitate timely, equitable, and effective suicide prevention in nursing practice. INTRODUCTION: As the population ages, L4-L5 degenerative spondylolisthesis is increasingly common. Posterolateral fusion was long standard; interbody cages are widely used for perceived higher fusion rates.

RESEARCH QUESTION: Does adding an interbody cage to posterolateral fusion improve outcomes or reduce complications in elderly patients with grade I spondylolisthesis and severe stenosis?

MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively studied 319 adults aged 60-85 who underwent single-level L4-L5 fusion (2011-2018) after failed conservative care. The research problem addressed in this basic qualitative study was the inconsistent use and implementation of teacher read-alouds among fourth- and fifth-grade teachers in an urban district. Guided by Clark and Peterson’s cognitive process teacher model, Rumelhart’s schema theory, and Gough and Tunmer’s simple view of reading, the purpose of this project study was to explore teachers’ experiences and perceptions regarding their use of read-alouds as part of their regular reading instruction. Background: Accurate and timely identification of upper respiratory tract pathogens can improve patient management by decreasing unnecessary additional testing, reducing the cost of care, and informing antimicrobial stewardship. We evaluated the FDA-cleared Diasorin LIAISON PLEX® Respiratory Flex (RSP Flex), a highly multiplexed, rapid nucleic acid detection assay that can identify 14 viral and 5 bacterial respiratory pathogens.

Methods: In total, 215 residual patient upper respiratory tract specimens were tested using the RSP Flex assay and results compared to standard-of-care (SOC) molecular testing.

Noninfectious manifestations of common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) are not formally summarized. We performed a systematic literature review to generate a comprehensive reference for the field. Splenomegaly was the most reported manifestation across 53 publications, occurring in a median of 35.2% of patients. Frequently reported digestive system manifestations included diarrhea (median 27.8%; 21 publications), hepato(spleno)megaly (median, 21.0%; 19 publications), portal hypertension (median 21.0%; 3 publications), nodular lymphoid hyperplasia (median, 17.0%; 9 publications), and enteropathy (median, 16.0%; 34 publications). Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is a potentially curative treatment for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Since the initiation of newborn screening (NBS), survival rates have improved significantly, but the impact of HCT upon neurodevelopment for patients with SCID requires more investigation. We performed a cross-sectional study of subjects with SCID in North America to assess the impact of NBS, transplant conditioning regimen, and genotype on neurodevelopmental outcomes after HCT. 69 subjects with SCID from 17 PIDTC centers (excluding those with ADA deficiency), ages 6-16 years, received comprehensive standardized neurodevelopmental testing of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional function. Sequence alignment is essential for genomic research and clinical diagnostics, yet detecting complex rearrangements such as inversions, duplications, and gene conversions remains challenging due to allele complexity and limitations of current methods. We introduce VACmap, a non-linear mapping approach to enhance the detection and representation of all genetic variations. VACmap improves duplication detection from 20% to 90% in the Challenging Medically-Relevant Genes (CMRG) benchmark and improves characterization of complex inversions in repetitive regions and gene conversion events. This staff education project was a quality improvement initiative aimed at reducing medication transcription errors by implementing a standardized verification protocol. The project addressed the critical practice problem of transcription-related medication errors, which contribute to wrong medication administration, adverse drug events, and patient harm. The practice-focused question was: How does implementing a staff education program on standardized medication transcription verification processes in healthcare institutions affect the rate of wrong medication administration compared to traditional transcription methods without education?
