Industrial diesel burners emit various hazardous gases, including carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Industrial burners can reduce their negative environmental impacts by reusing flue gases. This research aimed to determine how flue gas recirculation affects burner emissions and performance parameters. Various flue gas recirculation ratios were tested in this experiment, including 0, 5, 10, and 15%, as well as 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45% air-to-fuel (A/F) ratios. The air-to-fuel ratio, abbreviated A/F, refers to the air-to-fuel ratio in the external combustion chamber. In this article, I examine the gendered transmission of religious knowledge in Morocco based on my ethnographic fieldwork among women's Koranic exegesis circles in Casablanca. Since the 2004 reform, female preachers have been operating within an institutional framework where their legitimacy is recognised but constrained by the norms of ‘moderate Islam’, while parallel spaces – domestic and digital – are developing that are more open to discursive innovation and multilingual registers. Social media has revolutionised the way we communicate. On YouTube, Moroccan female creators negotiate their visibility and social status. My thesis examines their uses and discourses to better understand online gender dynamics, combining quantitative analysis and nethnography, enriched by a semiopragmatic reading of signs and their effects. From a reflexive perspective, my experience as a woman in the digital world becomes both an analytical asset and a limitation, requiring constant vigilance in the face of possible biases.

This article examines gendered religious discourse on Moroccan social media and analyses its effects on representations of identity. Taking a multidisciplinary approach that combines gender sociology, sociology of religion and digital studies, this research draws on critical and digital discourse analysis, online ethnography and field observations. The results highlight how this content, by exploiting the virality and interactivity inherent in these platforms, contributes to the reproduction and reformulation of patriarchal norms. The study thus highlights the tension between the modernisation of media, the reconfiguration of religious authority and the persistence of gender hierarchies in the contemporary Moroccan context.

This editorial argues that studies of Maghrebi and African women’s relationships to religion are far from obsolete. It recalls how the field moved from descriptive accounts of injustices and sensationalized writings toward stronger sociological and anthropological inquiry. Anchored in a special issue of Faits de langue et de société linked to the ANR-funded RIMA project coordinated by Fabienne Samson, the dossier examines women’s emancipation through religious practice and discourse as tools for action, resistance, and activism. Contributors highlight methodological and ethical challenges of researching “at home” and online, where social media enables reinvention yet also can subtly reproduce religious norms.

This study employs attribution theory to examine how adult daughters from low-income backgrounds perceive and manage low-quality daughter-mother relationships. Using in-depth interviews and flexible coding, we analyzed how daughters (n = 42) attribute locus, responsibility, specificity, and stability. Daughters often located control internally within their mothers, citing enduring traits as sources of conflict while noting external influences such as trauma or substance abuse. Responsibility was frequently self-assumed despite blaming mothers, positioning attribution as a means of asserting agency. Many saw their relationships as uniquely difficult and consistent, reinforcing perceptions of stability and specificity. Our study extends attribution theory to …

BACKGROUND: Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease, characterized by both motor and non-motor symptoms. Falls and fractures are common in advanced PD but the risk of fractures in newly diagnosed people with PD and the impact of treatment with levodopa is understudied.

METHODS: We investigated the risk of fractures among Medicare beneficiaries with incident PD age ≥ 67 compared to controls. Among PD cases only with continuous Part D medication coverage, we examined the effect of levodopa treatment on fracture risk. PURPOSE: The extent to which existing measures cover the spectrum of neighborhood-level social determinants of health (SDOH) has not yet been assessed. This review compared the content of U.S.-based neighborhood-level SDOH measures and summarized the use of these measures in empirical research. METHODS: We conducted a comprehensive search on PubMed and Google Scholar, identifying review articles published from 1990–2023, and complemented this search by manually examining the original articles on measure development.
