Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health issue, contributing to substantial mortality annually; therefore, effective risk stratification is essential for clinical decision-making and optimal resource allocation. This study externally validates a simple mortality prediction score for TB patients that was initially developed by Saisudjarit and colleague in a different population.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using TB registry data from four Thai provinces (Nakhon Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet, Chai Nat, and Uthai Thani) collected January 1, 2019–December 31, 2020. Background: Esophageal cancer (EC) is a major global health concern due to its high fatality rate. Although Thailand reports a relatively low incidence, the disease’s prevalence has increased over the past decade. This study aimed to evaluate survival time and identify factors associated with mortality among EC patients.

Methods: A hospital-based cohort study was conducted at the tertiary hospital in northeastern, Thailand, including 101 EC patients diagnosed between 2006 and 2015. Subjects were followed for six months. Clinical data were retrospectively collected from medical records and the Cancer Registry. Background: A cross-sectional study was conducted at a primary care unit and general practitioner clinic in a tertiary teaching hospital in Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand, to evaluate the effect of hand grip strength on maintaining oral hygiene in older adults.

Method: Participants completed a questionnaire, performed a brushing task on a force-sensor–equipped dental model, and had plaque stained before brushing while being video recorded. The primary outcome was plaque removal performance. Multivariable logistic regression identified factors associated with inadequate plaque removal, and sex-specific grip strength cut-off points were determined using receiver operating characteristic analysis.

This study evaluates the impact of the Indonesia–Pakistan Preferential Trade Agreement (IPPTA) on bilateral trade using the gravity model of international trade. Annual time series data from 1990 to 2023 are analysed through unit root testing, bounds testing, and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) estimation to examine both short- and long-run effects. The model includes four variables: bilateral trade, GDP of Indonesia and Pakistan, geographical distance, and a dummy variable for IPPTA to compare trade performance before and after the agreement’s implementation. This paper focuses on power grid integration of wave energy converter (WEC) arrays that minimize added energy storage for maximizing power capture as well as smoothing the oscillatory power inputs into the grid. In particular, a linear right circular cylinder WEC array that implements complex conjugate control is compared and contrasted to a nonlinear WEC array that implements an hourglass buoy shape while both are integrated into the grid utilizing phase control (i.e., relative spacing of the WEC array) on the input powers to the grid. This dissertation examines how EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) practitioners approach power dynamics, identity, and belongingness in therapy from a multicultural and social justice perspective. Using a qualitative narrative research design guided by intersectional feminist epistemology, the study investigates how privilege, positionality, and belongingness influence clinicians’ approaches to EMDR therapy. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine EMDR-trained practitioners from diverse sociocultural backgrounds to explore how relational, systemic, and contextual factors influence their clinical work. Thematic analysis was used to illuminate how EMDR practitioners navigate complex power dynamics both within the therapeutic alliance and in broader sociocultural contexts. Participants emphasized …

Forest aboveground biomass (AGB) density mapping initiatives generally use one of three remote sensing approaches: lidar, radar, or near-nadir multispectral imaging leveraging machine learning methods, or a combination thereof. However, the active instrument record is limited and near-nadir multispectral imaging data are relatively insensitive to canopy physical structure. Multiangle imaging enables annual wall-to-wall mapping with a global record that extends back to 2000 as these data are highly sensitive to forest AGB. Mindfulness-Based Practices (MBPs) have shown how adverse effects respond in treating symptoms of complex PTSD (CPTSD). There is a lack of research on the impact of (MBPs) upon survivors of incest, a population with an elevated risk of re-traumatization. Professionals must approach MBPs within a multi-modal, trauma-sensitive framework, through psychoeducation, establishment of safety and trust, awareness of Mindfulness-Related Adverse Effects (MRAEs), and developing ways to foster healing. Through a literature review and the current creative project, professionals can use the proposed tool chest to manage MRAEs when treating survivors with CPTSD symptoms. Los vestidos indígenas cuzqueños contemporáneos se caracterizan por tener decoraciones iconográficas variadas. Es la representación floral decorativa que destaca por el color, el diseño y la forma. El motivo floral aparece adornando tanto los vestidos de las imágenes santas de la pintura cuzqueña (siglos XVII y XVIII) como la ropa de los incas nobles retratados durante la colonia. While institutes of higher education are highly dynamic, academic programs and faculty within them often operate in an isolated, independent manner. As a result, the training they deliver can lack the interdisciplinary perspectives students need to navigate a diverse and evolving workforce successfully. This editorial explores the importance of interdisciplinary training and discusses the challenges college students who lack exposure to collaborative, integrative learning face as they transition to their respective professions. Finally, faculty are encouraged to consider strategies to enhance training in preparation programs and best position their graduates for success in interdisciplinary contexts.

This study investigates the performance of a vertically-Lagrangian multi-layer model on numerically simulating shoaling and breaking two-dimensional solitary waves during both the breaking and post-breaking processes. The energy dissipation of the breaking event for the multi-layer waves is analyzed and compared to prior direct numerical simulation work with the same bathymetric and wave cases. It shows very similar data collapse to shallow-water inertial theory. For post-breaking behavior, bore characteristics are compared to an experimental study of bores formed from breaking solitary waves and similar results are found. Identification of the various methods of measuring faculty research success stands in need of better collection and summary. This study aimed to identify the measures and factors of faculty research success through a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines. Using the Boolean search, 265 studies (i.e., articles and dissertations) from four popular databases were selected for abstract screening. Thirty-six studies were selected for full-text text review, which ranged over 237,980 faculty of STEM and non-STEM areas from 29 countries.
