The paper considers the issues of synthesizing an adaptive fuzzy synergetic controller with discrete time for nonstationary nonlinear dynamic objects. The proposed approach is based on the integrated use of synergetic control principles and fuzzy logic methods, which ensure the formation of a control law for nonlinear dynamic objects that provides asymptotic stability of the control system. This paper considers an approach to adaptive-robust control of dynamic systems using generalized anticipation, where the object is described by a locally linearized model. Known self-tuning algorithms show insufficient stability to inaccurate selection of delay or model order. A generalized predictive control approach is suggested, with simulation outcomes showing superiority over traditional methods like generalized minimum variance control and pole assignment.This sliding horizon algorithm is based on predicting future system output signals several steps ahead, based on assumptions about subsequent control actions. This research provides a detailed guideline for implementing and evaluating Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control frameworks in lower limb rehabilitation exoskeleton robotics. It examines the role of control systems within rehabilitation robotics, outlines the principles of PID control, describes exoskeleton architecture, explores applications of PID control, reviews optimization strategies, presents experimental validations, and considers future developments in the field. The proposed control framework incorporates aspects of mechanical design, actuator and sensor selection, and PID-based control algorithms, thereby promoting safe, accurate, and individualized rehabilitation support. Recommendations and effective guidance for future work are also presented.

Particular emphasis is placed on the digitalisation of wastewater treatment plants, ranging from the implementation of automated process control systems (APCS/SCADA-based solutions) to the application of predictive algorithms and the development of digital twins of bioreactors.

Special attention is devoted to mathematical models that underpin the control of bioprocesses. Proteins undergo phase separation to form membraneless condensates that spatially organize biomolecular interactions. These condensates can support cellular physiology or instigate pathological protein aggregation. Tau and α-synuclein (αSyn) are neuronal proteins that form heterotypic Tau:αSyn condensates associated with physiological and pathological processes. Tau and αSyn regulate microtubules, but also misfold and co-deposit in aggregates linked to neurodegenerative disease, highlighting the ambivalent impact of Tau:αSyn condensation in health and disease. Here, we show that Tubulin modulates Tau:αSyn condensates by promoting microtubule interactions and inhibiting homotypic and heterotypic pathological oligomers. Background/objectives: SETD2 is a dual-function methyltransferase important for methylation of histone H3 at lysine 36 and α-tubulin in spindle microtubules. Genetic inactivation of SETD2 during oncogenesis drives loss of H3K36me3, genomic instability, and cancer progression. This study asked if disruption of genomic stability was a canonical feature of SETD2 inactivation via different pathways.

Methods: We evaluated the impact of EPZ-719, a pharmacologic SETD2 inhibitor, and an H3.3K36M mutant histone ("oncohistone") that binds and sequesters SETD2, on methylation activity and genomic stability in human cell lines. Introduction: Sacubitril/valsartan (Sac/Val) represents a cornerstone of heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) management. This systematic review provides a comprehensive overview of real-world evidence (RWE) regarding the implementation, clinical effectiveness, and safety of Sac/Val in patients with HFrEF.

Methods: A systematic literature search of PubMed was conducted through March 2024 following PRISMA guidelines.

Results: The review included 45 manuscripts from 30 different studies, primarily from Europe (44%) and the US (30%). RWE confirmed that Sac/Val was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular mortality (10%-16%), HF hospitalization (10%-38%), and all-cause mortality (10%-25%). Land use and land cover (LULC) change strongly influences national carbon dynamics and the effectiveness of forest-based climate mitigation strategies, particularly in mountainous developing countries. This study integrates scenario-based LULC modeling, spatially explicit carbon accounting, and economic valuation to assess how alternative development pathways affect carbon storage and its economic value in Nepal over the 2020–2050 period. LULC projections for four scenarios: Business-as-Usual (BAU), Rapid Urban Development (RUD), Forest Degradation and Terai Contraction (FDTC), and Agricultural Land Abandonment and Ecological Recovery (ALER), were generated using the TerrSet Land Change Modeler, with 2020 as the baseline. Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy (ICI) with nivolumab+ipilimumab is a first-line (1L) standard for metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), yet outcomes remain heterogeneous. Increasing evidence suggests that host factors influence the tumor microenvironment and response to ICI. Although higher body mass index (BMI) has been associated with improved outcomes in several malignancies, BMI is an imprecise surrogate for underlying adipose and muscle compartments. Data on the use of Woven EndoBridge (WEB) devices in the treatment of narrow-neck intracranial aneurysms (NNA) are limited. We compared the efficacy and safety of single-layer (SL) and single-layer spherical (SLS) WEB devices in treating NNA. We conducted a multicenter retrospective analysis of adult patients with NNA (neck ≤ 4 mm and width-to-neck ratio ≥ 2) treated with SL or SLS WEB devices between January 2011 and December 2022. Cancer occurs in ∼1 per 1000 pregnancies; thousands of patients may require radiation procedures for diagnosis and treatment each year in the United States alone. This rare but high-risk scenario, coupled with fear of radiation, has created ambiguity in the ideal management of pregnant patients. BACKGROUND: Available data about sex differences in patients with acute aortic dissection (AAD) are scant and conflicting. The aim of this study is to assess sex-related differences in clinical characteristics, presentation, diagnostic findings, management, and outcomes among patients with type A (TA-AAD) and type B AAD (TB-AAD).

METHODS: Data about 11 586 patients enrolled in the IRAD (International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection) from 1996 to 2022, were analyzed; 7819 (67.5%) experienced TA-AAD and 3867 (33.0%) TB-AAD. Men and women were compared with regard to diagnosis, treatment, and in-hospital and long-term survival.

Social network analysis (SNA) offers an innovative approach to understand youths' complex social support systems. Growing work highlights links between youths' social networks and mental health. We used SNA to examine associations between social network characteristics and psychological empowerment, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress among youth living in areas with concentrated disadvantage. We administered egocentric social network surveys in which youth (i.e., egos) enumerated individuals in their social network (i.e., alters), answered questions about each alter, and described how alters were connected.
