Cape Cod Ocean Watch, Finn Wimberly, Svenja Ryan, Aubrey Ellertson Church, Melissa Sanderson, George Maynard, Linus Stoltz Jan 2026

Cape Cod Ocean Watch, Finn Wimberly, Svenja Ryan, Aubrey Ellertson Church, Melissa Sanderson, George Maynard, Linus Stoltz

Benefits of Ocean Observing Catalog (BOOC)

The Cape Cod Ocean Watch dashboard is an interactive, map-based data visualization platform that delivers near real-time information on coastal ocean conditions across the Northeast U.S. shelf. The dashboard integrates hydrographic profiles collected by commercial fishermen with remotely-sensed surface datasets, bottom-condition products from eMOLT and FIShBOT, and short-term forecasts from the Doppio regional ocean model. These datasets are synthesized into a single, user-friendly interface designed to support the information needs of the fishing community. We aim to provide an integrated platform which transforms diverse oceanographic datasets into actionable insights, strengthens communication between members of the fishing community and scientists, and …

Procedure To Evaluate Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Output For Educational And Clinical Tasks, Lynn Gilbertson, Cody Marie Busch, Jon Spike, Kaitlin Demoss, Jae Thompson Jan 2026

Procedure To Evaluate Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Output For Educational And Clinical Tasks, Lynn Gilbertson, Cody Marie Busch, Jon Spike, Kaitlin Demoss, Jae Thompson

Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences & Disorders

As generative artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more ubiquitous and accessible, there is a call to promote awareness, implementation, and evaluation skills among AI users. Free AI platforms offer unprecedented opportunities to transform how education and healthcare tasks are approached. However, a process for evaluating AI output has yet to be standardized. The current study implemented a structured process for guiding graduate and undergraduate students through critical evaluations of various AI platforms, promoting students' critical thinking and career readiness.

Assessing Learning In Simulation Learning Experiences In Graduate Programs For Speech-Language Pathology: A Phenomenological Study, Robyn Walker, Casey Ozaki

Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences & Disorders

The purpose of this study was to use qualitative inquiry to explore how faculty assess student learning in clinical simulation-based learning experiences (SBLEs) used to demonstrate clinical competence in graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders: Speech-Language Pathology (CSD). The following research questions were addressed: How do faculty experience the assessment of learning in SBLE? In what ways do faculty assess student learning in SBLE specifically designed to meet clinical competency standards? What, if any, effect has the COVID-19 pandemic had on the use of SBLE and assessment of student learning used to address clinical competency standards? A total of …

Effects Of Infused Instruction On Graduate Students’ Knowledge, Self-Perceptions, And Misconceptions Of African American English Dialect, Virginia L. Dubasik, Tim Brackenbury, Jasmine I. Wilson Jan 2026

Effects Of Infused Instruction On Graduate Students’ Knowledge, Self-Perceptions, And Misconceptions Of African American English Dialect, Virginia L. Dubasik, Tim Brackenbury, Jasmine I. Wilson

Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences & Disorders

Despite guidelines and requirements for training programs in communication sciences and disorders (CSD), pre-service and practicing speech-language pathologists report feeling under-prepared to work with speakers of Nonmainstream American English (NMAE) dialects such as African American English (AAE; Latimer-Hearn, 2020). The current study explored explicit instruction of the phonological and syntactic characteristics of AAE via infused instruction with speech-language pathology graduate students. Participants were 43 first- and second-year students in a CSD program. At the start of the course, participants completed a pre-instruction survey containing questions regarding demographics, exposure/experiences with AAE, baseline knowledge of AAE characteristics, and misconceptions regarding the dialect. …

Uconn Lco/Gr Battery Fast Charging Dataset, Sina Navidi, Sourav Das, Benjamin Nowacki, Pranav Shrotriya, Jun Xu, Chao Hu Jan 2026

Uconn Lco/Gr Battery Fast Charging Dataset, Sina Navidi, Sourav Das, Benjamin Nowacki, Pranav Shrotriya, Jun Xu, Chao Hu

REIL Datasets

This dataset comprises 76 Powerstream LiR 2032 lithium cobalt oxide/graphite (LCO/Gr) coin cells used to study Coulombic efficiency and long-term degradation under fast charging conditions. The dataset includes 40 cells tested using SOC-sweep experiments and 36 cells evaluated using benchmark fast charging protocols. SOC-sweep experiments were conducted at four target SOH levels (100%, 90%, 80%, and 70%) and across multiple charging C-rates (1.5C–3.5C) to characterize the dependence of Coulombic efficiency on SOC, C-rate, and SOH. Benchmark tests were designed to assess protocol-dependent degradation and consisted of repeated blocks of charge-discharge cycling followed by reference performance tests (RPTs) to measure capacity. …
