The University Honors Program is working to revise the curriculum and policies to better align with broader University of Dayton mission and values. Currently, the curriculum for the University Honors Program requires students to complete six honors courses (or four honors courses plus an honors thesis for 6 credits) to earn the Honors Diploma. This is equivalent to 18 honors credits. To earn the Honors with Distinction Diploma, students must complete six honors courses plus an honors distinction project (6 credits; equivalent to 24 honors credits).

ASCPT has a mission to advance clinical pharmacology and translational sciences to reduce health disparities. The development, regulatory, and outcomes (DRO) network within ASCPT strives to advance pharmacoequity globally. Pharmacoequity, coined by Utibe Essien (2021), is the principle that all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, geography, or socioeconomic status, should have access to high-quality and evidence-based therapies. This perspective spotlights the network's contributions toward this goal and identifies priority areas to build equitable health outcomes.

Leveraging Redshift Probabilities And Machine Learning Classification To Identify Catastrophic Outlier Photometric Redshift Estimates, J. Yoo, C. Gyure, V. Agarwal, Jack E. Singal, G. Silverman

We present results of using a basic binary classification neural network model to identify likely catastrophic outlier (CO) photometric redshift estimates of individual galaxies. The classification is based on individual galaxy redshift probability distributions generated by a multiclass classifier neural network and a support vector machine. Importantly, the redshift probability distributions used as input to the binary classifier can be used for photometric redshift estimates generated by a different method. Background: Health management represents a core competency for healthcare professionals, especially in systems experiencing rapid reform and resource constraints. While traditionally overlooked in undergraduate curricula, it is vital for promoting efficiency, patient safety, and interprofessional collaboration. Methods: Four universities were partner sites for this classroom-based research: Zayed University (ZU), with two campuses, the University of Sharjah (US), Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University (PNU), and Kuwait University. The reported evidence for an isotropic gravitational-wave background (GWB) from pulsar timing array (PTA) collaborations has motivated searches for extrinsic and intrinsic anisotropies. Kinematic anisotropies may arise as a consequence of a boosted observer moving with respect to the frame in which the GWB appears isotropic. In this work, we present an analytical toolbox to describe the effects of kinematic anisotropies on the overlap reduction function. Our analytical results differ from previous findings at the quadrupole order and are detailed in three appendices. Background:

Conventional angiography remains the standard diagnostic modality for arteriovenous (AV) access dysfunction in hemodialysis patients, but its geometric accuracy is limited. Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) offers superior lesion detection, yet its absolute measurement accuracy remains uncertain. Using three-dimensional (3D) printed vascular conduits as reference standards, we assessed the accuracy of IVUS versus angiography, hypothesizing that complex conduit geometry, quantified by Gaussian curvature, would exacerbate angiographic error.

Methods

GARMENT WORKERS IN CALIFORNIA SINCE 2022 may collect their wages, not merely from the production facility that employs them, but alternatively from the garment labels and some retailers for whom the facility produces garments. Such joint and several liability is unique in the world. It has long been the goal of garment worker activists around the world, for garment work everywhere is both low-paid and easily mobile. Wage theft, that is, nonpayment or underpayment of wages, is also common in California (U.S. Department of Labour, 2023). How is the statute working out?

In this dispatch, we examine one of the most significant strategic experiments to emerge in the recent past: a tripartite initiative launched in late 2024 in which the FWO is seeking to actively collaborate with representatives of business and unions in new and more meaningful ways. While tripartism is well established in setting standards, it remains relatively novel in the context of compliance and enforcement.

The Butterfly Effect In Economics: Exploring Chaos With A Simple Financial Model, Sandy Hs Herho

Wild swings in financial markets need not result from external shocks like earthquakes or wars—they can emerge from deterministic chaos. This article introduces kalimusada, an open-source Python library that lets students and instructors explore this phenomenon through a simple three- equation model of financial dynamics. The model couples interest rates, investment, and prices through nonlinear feedback, generating bounded but unpredictable oscillations characteristic of chaos. Tiny differences in starting conditions—smaller than any measurement could detect—grow exponentially until two initially identical economies follow completely different paths. Background: In late 2019, the COVID-19 virus spread across the world causing a global pandemic that affected populations, health care workers, and the health care industry. The health and well-being of the nursing workforce received attention due to nurse attrition and the critical projected national nurse shortage. However, the concept of nurse well-being is inconsistently defined in the literature perhaps due to its fluidity. Additionally, patient adverse outcomes continue to occur in the hospital setting and are costly to patients, families, nurses, and healthcare organizations. Encouraging Naturalization: The Broader Effects Of Daca On U.S. Immigration, Emily Battaglia, Thomas Pearson

This paper examines how protection from deportation and work authorization affect immigration outcomes, focusing on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Using a difference-in-differences design exploiting geographic variation in exposure to DACA-eligible immigrants, we find that DACA significantly increased the number of naturalized citizens without increasing the number of noncitizens. This increase is driven by higher naturalization among prior noncitizens, most of whom are likely not DACA beneficiaries. We provide evidence consistent with DACA increasing incentives for, and reducing barriers to, naturalization by protecting undocumented DACA-eligible contacts, suggesting temporary protections can encourage longer-term commitments and permanent residence among existing immigrants.

In this study, we present a comprehensive numerical investigation of chlorine-doped perovskite solar cells using the SCAPS-1D simulation framework, with the device structure ITO/ZnO/CH3NH3PbI3−xClx/NiOx/Au. This work focuses on optimizing active-layer properties and compositional engineering to enhance photovoltaic performance. Initially, the influence of absorber thickness on device parameters was investigated, revealing that CH3NH3PbI3 achieves optimal performance at 800 nm thickness, delivering a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.17%, along with a short circuit current density (Jsc) of 25.31 mA cm−2, an open circuit voltage (Voc) of 1.15 V, and a fill factor (FF) of 82.75%.
