The study aims to determine the diversity of terrestrial fern species (pteridophyta) and mosses (bryophyta) in the Pananjung Pangandaran Nature Reserve, West Java. The method used in this study is a qualitative description of the design of the transmission belt. Collected samples were conducted with a purposive sampling method. A lengthy transect line extends approximately 110 meters and comprises up to six quadrants, each measuring 10 by10 meters. Calcium oxalate (CaOx) kidney stones, accounting for over 70% of all types, are the most common stone type. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are post-transcriptional epigenetic regulators, involved in disease development. One of these miRNAs is miRNA 484 (miR-484). Vitamin D (VD), a fat-soluble vitamin important for calcium (Ca) metabolism, is primarily mediated by the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR), a nuclear transcription factor. This study aimed to investigate miR-484's regulatory role in modulating VDR gene expression, evaluate serum VD and biochemical parameters in CaOx kidney stone patients compared to healthy controls, and their potential as diagnostic biomarkers. This investigation was conducted on five genetically identified algal species at five sites in the Soran administration, with sampling monthly from March 2024 to January 2025. Accurate species identification is essential for understanding biodiversity, assessing ecosystems, and managing water quality. Traditional morphological identification is standard practice for algal characterization, but these methods are time-consuming and error-prone, especially when dealing with similar-looking species or mixed populations. Modern DNA detection methods, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and DNA barcoding, improve specificity and sensitivity. Density Functional Theory (DFT) was employed to investigate the effects of beryllium (Be) substitution on the vibrational and electronic properties of a single-wall carbon nano-cone. The study aims to clarify how Be incorporation modifies the structural stability and electronic characteristics of this nanostructure. Electronic parameters including ionization potential (I), electron affinity (Eea), Fermi energy (Ef), HOMO–LUMO energies, total energy (E), and band gap (Eg) were calculated. Infrared (IR) spectra, optimized geometries, electrostatic potential maps, and electron density distributions were also analyzed. Human error remains the most frequently exploited vulnerability in the cyber-security ecosystem. Despite substantial investments in technical safeguards, cybercriminals increasingly rely on social engineering, misinformation, and emotionally manipulative tactics to compromise users. This study examines behavioral changes among participants who underwent structured cyber-security workshops addressing both conventional cyber hygiene practices and emerging digital threats. The training modules covered digital arrest scams, identity theft, sextortion, fake technical support fraud, fake social media profiles, online gaming related risks, and deep fake manipulation. Cryptosporidium parvum is a major cause of a diarrheal disease which affects many children in the USA as well as the rest of the world, yet the contribution of its double stranded RNA (dsRNA) viral symbiont, Cryspovirus (CSpV1) to host innate immunity remains unclear. This study investigated whether CSpV1 activates Toll Like Receptor 3 (TLR3) signaling pathways and downstream Interferon type I (IFN I) responses in mammalian intestinal epithelial cells. In this talk, we provide an overview of several classes of multivariate Gaussian random fields, including multivariate Matérn Gaussian fields and operator fractional Brownian motion, and vector-valued operator-scaling random fields. In particular, we characterize the dependence structures (via the coherence functions) among the coordinate processes and study their effects on estimation and prediction of multivariate Gaussian random fields. Many people struggle to understand hearsay. It’s not their fault. The hearsay definition is confusing and unhelpful, especially its final phrase: that hearsay is an out-of-court statement1 offered to prove “the truth of the matter asserted” in the statement.2 What does “truth of the matter asserted” mean? The definition’s plain language isn’t much help. This paper shares the basic example that I have found to be most effective in my law school evidence classes to diagnose hearsay.

Acinetobacter baumannii most often causes pneumonia in critically ill patients. However, A. baumannii is also an important cause of a broader range of infections, including skin/wound and urinary tract infections. This study aims to evaluate the in vitro activity of sulbactam-durlobactam and comparator antibiotics, including meropenem and cefiderocol against A. baumannii-calcoaceticus complex isolates from non-respiratory and non-bloodstream sources. Samples included 285 A. baumannii-cal coaceticus complex isolates enriched for carbapenem resistance collected across 17 states in the United States (January 2023–May 2025). Alcohol use disorder (AUD) causes executive dysfunction, leading to reduced treatment adherence, worse clinical outcomes, and relapse. Current medications do not address these symptoms. Targeting the neuroimmune interleukin-1 (IL-1) system has potential, but its mechanistic role in prefrontal cortex (PFC) dysfunction is unclear. Here we investigated how chronic alcohol consumption shifts IL-1 regulation of the rodent and non-human primate PFC. We found that alcohol drinking decreased reference memory and shifted the search strategy in mice of both sexes, and this deficit correlated with altered IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAcP) mRNA levels in the medial PFC (mPFC) of male mice. Autistic Traits And Mind Wandering: A Correlational Study Of Themes, Intentionality, And Temporal Focus, Leilani Forby, Farid Pazhoohi, Alan Kingstone

There is abundant research on the nature and content of mind wandering (MW) in neurotypical individuals, yet little research in these areas on individuals high in autistic traits. The current study explored the relationship between autistic traits and several aspects of MW: themes, intentionality, temporal dimensions, and attitudes towards MW. A total of 1,477 participants completed measures of autistic traits, MW, and stress. Autistic trait level was positively correlated with the MW theme of guilt and fear of failure (GFF), spontaneous MW (MW-S), poor attentional control (PAC), and stress, and negatively correlated with appreciation for MW’s benefits. Research aim: Examine Malaysian consumers’ decisions to purchase low-GI foods using the S–O–R framework, while considering how knowledge and trust shape these decisions. Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative survey was conducted among 302 Malaysian consumers, with data analysed via confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modelling, and moderation analysis. Research findings: Attitudes toward low-GI foods are shaped by health consciousness, environmental concern, and social influence, but not price perception. Purchase intention is directly influenced by trust, with moderation observed only for subjective knowledge. Theoretical contribution/Originality: Extends the S–O–R framework through differentiating knowledge type and clarifying the role of trust in low-GI food consumption. …

The cases in this collection were written by graduate nursing students enrolled in the Master of Nursing program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Nursing. Each author drew from their own clinical experience to illustrate how structured reasoning shapes patient care at the bedside and beyond. Their willingness to reflect honestly on moments of uncertainty, advocacy, and judgment — and to share those reflections with students who are still developing their own — is the foundation of this work. I am integrating Spellbook, an AI tool for contract drafting and review, into my first-year law school Contracts course in spring 2026. Although Spellbook is highly effective, its educational value hinges on the pedagogical framework structured around it, a framework typically not licensed along with AI tools. Silo mentality within nonprofit behavioral health organizations creates barriers to effective leadership communication and undermines change management efforts. This case study involved examining how siloed practices influenced leadership communication during organizational change at a nonprofit behavioral health organization in a rural area of California. The study was grounded in the Baldrige Excellence Framework, which emphasizes leadership, workforce engagement, and systems alignment. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with leaders at multiple organizational levels and review of internal archival documents. Our study examines the interaction of temperature discrepancies and reaction speed in college students. Previous research suggests that temperature influences reaction time, with colder conditions generally slowing responses. However, comparatively little research has explored the effects of warmer temperatures on reaction speed. Therefore, the purpose of our study is to examine the relationship between temperature variation and reaction speed in college students. Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) is characterized by the absence of estrogen, progesterone, and HER2 receptors, limiting targeted treatment options. Digitoxin, a drug used to treat heart failure and atrial fibrillation through Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase inhibition, has demonstrated anticancer effects in TNBC cells, including apoptosis via the NF-κB pathway. This study investigates whether the Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase and sodium–calcium exchanger contribute to the mechanism of action of digitoxin in TNBC cells. We hypothesize that these transporters mediate digitoxin-induced cytotoxic effects. Closed-cycle cryostats, such as the Advanced Research Systems DE-202 model are commonly used in laboratories as they provide long-term, low-cost, low-maintenance operation. We will outline the assembly, testing processes, and benchmarking experiments associated with the setup of this instrumental accessory. Further, a technical manual was written for future students and faculty in undergraduate research. Assembly involved constructing a custom frame, and integrating vacuum, water, gas, and electrical systems. Testing confirmed the system did not leak gas. Thermal response was recorded during cooling and heating phases to verify functionality; a base temperature of 7.5 K was achieved in 65 minutes, surpassing …
