Methanogenic Activity In Neotropical Lacustrine Systems At Different Altitudes, Joyce Andrade, Andrés Calderón, Marcos Hidalgo, Jaime Martí-Herrero

This study evaluated the methane (CH4) production capacity of microbial consortia from three neotropical lakes at different altitudes: Mojanda (4,263 m.a.s.l., 10°C), Papallacta (3,250 m.a.s.l., 14°C), and Caimanes (510 m.a.s.l., 25°C). Specific methanogenic activity (SMA) and biochemical methane potential (BMP) from cellulose were assessed at two temperatures (the original lake temperature and 37°C) and three different inoculum-to-substrate ratios (ISR of 1, 2, and 4). The highest SMA values were observed at 37°C, being 0.021, 0.011, and 0.009 g COD/gVS·d for Caimanes, Papallacta, and Mojanda, respectively. The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of collaborative social resources on project sustainability in Pakistan's IT Projects, with particular emphasis on the mediating effect of stakeholder engagement and the moderating role of project governance. A quantitative research strategy applied using a standardized questionnaire administered via Google Forms. The questionnaire, developed after reviewing relevant literature, and shared with IT professionals across Pakistan, yielding 342 valid responses out of approximately 600 distributed forms. The surface pressure distribution over a circular cylinder with a small, full-span, triangular bump is examined. The geometry of the bump is an isosceles triangle, the height of which is varied from 1.33 % to 5.33 % of the diameter of the cylinder and positioned between 60° and 120°. The Reynolds number (Re=V∞ D/ν, where V∞ is the velocity of the freestream, D is the diameter of the cylinder and ν is the kinematic viscosity) is varied between 1.1×105 and 1.8×105. Background: Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) causes 75 million diarrhoea episodes with up to 42 000 deaths annually in children. To prevent ETEC in children, we aimed to evaluate the safety, immunogenicity, and efficacy of ETVAX, an oral, inactivated, whole-cell ETEC vaccine with toxoid and double-mutant heat-labile toxin adjuvant.

Methods: In this phase 2b, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, Gambian children aged 6-18 months were recruited from four enrolment centres and block-randomised (1:1) via a computer-generated sequence, stratified by enrolment centres, to receive ETVAX or placebo on days 1, 15, and 90. Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly permeating nuclear cardiology and offers the possibility to enhance diagnostic accuracy, prognostic stratification, and operational efficiency. AI is demonstrating applicability across the imaging workflow—from individualized patient selection and adaptive image reconstruction to denoising of low-dose datasets, automated attenuation and motion correction, calcium scoring, and the integration of imaging with clinical and functional variables for enhanced diagnosis and comprehensive risk assessment. Dr. Margaret Jacobs was awarded the ORCA in 2021. She was born in San Pedro, California, but grew up in Colorado. Something in her youth must have sparked an interest in history because she earned a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in that subject with a focus on the interactions between Indigenous peoples and settlers. Her bachelor’s was from Stanford University in California, while her master’s and doctorate were from the University of California, Davis. The visual appearance of a new apple cultivar is of foremost importance for consumer attraction and fruit purchase. A new Australian apple (“ANABP 01”) has a unique burgundy colored skin which can range from red to dark burgundy during fruit maturation. This study investigates consumer likability and purchase of “ANABP 01” apples with similar eating quality characteristics with four different skin colors being Red, Light Burgundy (LB), Burgundy (B) and Dark Burgundy (DB). Metastatic Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer To The Penis Resulting In Malignant Priapism And Urethral Obstruction, Courtney Stewart, Joon Yau Leong, William Kevin Kelly, Mihir Shah

A 76-year-old male with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer was found to have metastatic disease to the urethra and penis on PSMA PET scan. This resulted in constant pain due to obstruction of blood flow through the corpora cavernosum resulting in priapism and urethral obstruction. The patient underwent a radical penectomy, partial urethrectomy and perineal urethrostomy creation. Final pathology confirmed metastatic prostatic adenocarcinoma. Although rare, prostate cancer can metastasize to the corpora spongiosum or cavernosa. Treatment options are limited, and surgical excision with urinary diversion is likely to provide the most durable outcomes for one's quality of life.

He will share his experience going from a suburban kid on Long Island, graduating from the University of Delaware, to enlisting in the IDF, serving over two years as a combat soldier, and then finding himself in the midst of a brutal war.
