"In the sections that follow, we develop theoretical scaffolding for our analysis. We begin by reviewing the literature on institutional work, focusing on how embedded actors engage in purposive actions to disrupt taken-for-granted norms. Next, we examine theoretically how influencers operate, setting the stage for understanding how deinfluencers leverage and subvert these roles. We then review scholarship on anti- consumption and consumer resistance, highlighting how deinfluencers depart from conventional activist modes by adopting culturally embedded, everyday practices. Background/Objectives: Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a triplet repeat expansion in the Fmr1 gene leading to the loss of Fragile X Messenger Ribonucleoprotein (Fmr1 protein). The loss of Fmr1 protein modulates many cell biological processes and leads to the emergence of intellectual disability and autism. FXS is modeled in Fmr1-KO mice that display features consistent with human FXS, including hypersensitivity, cognitive and learning deficits, hyperactivity and audiogenic seizures. This study was conducted to determine what factors cause stunting in Central Sulawesi Province. High Al-content Al_xGa_1-xN (0.7 < x < 1) quasi-vertical Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) with distributed polarization doping were grown on the bulk AlN substrate. They exhibit excellent rectification behavior with a large forward current density (~14 kA/cm² ) and a high breakdown field of ~8.3 MV/cm. The SBDs also exhibited low ideality factors of (n~1.2) with a high Schottky barrier height (Φ _b~ 1.7 eV). Thus, this study demonstrates the feasibility of the distributed polarization doping approach for high current–high voltage devices.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a prevalent neurodevelopmental condition associated with impairments across educational, occupational, and social domains. Individuals with ADHD are often exposed to misunderstanding and negative evaluation, which can contribute to stigma and psychological distress. Recently, “masking”—efforts to conceal or compensate for ADHD-related characteristics to meet social expectations—has been discussed as a potential behavioral response to stigma, yet empirical research on this phenomenon remains limited. The dramatic rise in ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption worldwide has sparked growing concerns about its impact on cancer development and human health. UPFs contain high levels of added sugars, unhealthy fats, chemical additives, dyes, and toxic compounds formed during cooking and processing. This study investigates the relationship between UPF consumption and cancer through a review of primary and secondary sources, alongside an observational survey conducted among 15 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and nursing educators. Survey findings indicate that 53% of participants observed higher cancer prevalence in patients consuming large amounts of UPFs, with colorectal cancer most frequently reported. The …

As renewable energy penetration increases, energy storage becomes essential. Hydrogen offers a viable option for seasonal storage, with reversible solid oxide cells enabling both hydrogen production via electrolysis and electricity generation from stored hydrogen in fuel cell mode. We investigate a cost-optimized, self-sufficient island grid near Ramsey Sound and the Celtic Sea—conceptualized as a localized grid without external power exchange. The grid aims to meet an annual energy demand (AED) of 807 GWh, equivalent to the annual energy production (AEP) of tidal energy in Ramsey Sound, using electricity from offshore renewable energy (ORE) farms and stored hydrogen. In this cross-sectional survey study, we aimed to capture the level of dementia knowledge in adolescents from different socio-demographic groups and to explore the factors associated with adolescents’ dementia knowledge. Method: We recruited 1,371 adolescents aged 11-18 years across England. Abdominal aortic calcification (AAC), a marker of subclinical cardiovascular disease, has previously shown to be associated with low BMD and fracture. However, it remains unclear whether AAC is associated with trabecular bone score (TBS), a gray-level textural measure, or whether it predicts fracture risk independent of this measure. Here, we examined the cross-sectional association of AAC scored using a validated machine learning algorithm (ML-AAC24) with TBS, and their simultaneous associations with incident fractures in 7691 individuals (93.4% women) through the Manitoba BMD Registry (mean age 75.3 yr). Prior research identified poverty, neighborhood violence, individual and familial risks, gang affiliation, and inadequate education as contributors to the increase in juvenile gun-related homicides. Background: Advancements in medical technology, particularly in perfusion practices such as ECMO and heart-lung bypass, have improved patient care but also introduced novel risks. Technological errors—ranging from hardware malfunctions to software failures and AI model inaccuracies—can directly threaten patient safety.

Objective: To identify current trends and risks associated with technology in perfusion practices and synthesize evidence on the frequency, nature, and outcomes of technology-related errors.

Results: Evidence indicates substantial deficiencies in medical devices, predictive models, and health IT systems. AI-based predictive models frequently failed to detect critical health deterioration, missing 66% of injuries in some in-hospital mortality simulations. Adverse events …
