Optimized Thermal Management Of Cylindrical Lithium-Ion Batteries Using Circular Fins And Forced Air-Cooling, Mohamed M. Donia, Ahmed A. Hegazi, Mohamed A. Aziz, Osama Abdelrehim
Mansoura Engineering Journal
The Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS) is vital for maintaining the optimal performance, safety, and longevity of electric vehicle batteries by keeping their temperature within a desired range. This study proposes an optimized cooling solution for BTMS based on both experimental and numerical investigations. Experimental tests were performed on a single battery cell under discharging rates of 1C, 2C, 3C, and 4C using an electronic load, with thermal performance evaluated under natural convection. Numerical models simulating both forced and natural convection were developed using ANSYS 19.3, and a combined Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM) approach was …

Verification Of Offline Signature Based On A Hybrid Dense-Attention-Residual-Cnn Structure Optimized By Grey Wolf Algorithm, Zeyad T. Salim, Mahmoud M. Saafan, Eman M. El-Gendy
Mansoura Engineering Journal
Signature verification is a necessary vision task with prevalent use in securing realworld applications. Offline signature is a popular type that needs to efficacious approach to be checked due to the depending on the paper time and the written tool. The progress in intelligent algorithms participates in supporting simple way authentication-based signatures. In this research work, an offline signature verification (OSV) based on an optimized and costumed convolutional neural network(CNN) infrastructure is suggested. The CNN is costumed by integrating residual, dense, and attention mechanisms, then optimized by applying a grey wolf optimization(GWO) algorithm. The system is trained and tested with …

Assessing The Geomechanical Modelling Of Underground Reservoir For Co₂ Storage Trapping Mechanisms, Bonavian Hasiholan, Mohammed Ali Farea, Elhassan Mostafa Abdallah, Sami Abdelrahman M. Yagoub, Yasir Mukhtar
Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications
Effective carbon dioxide (CO₂) storage is essential for mitigating climate change amid increasing global greenhouse gas emissions. This study investigates the influence of geomechanics on CO₂ storage performance within carbon capture and storage (CCS), focusing on structural, residual, and solubility trapping mechanisms using a fully coupled modeling framework. Two numerical models, with and without geomechanical effects, are developed to evaluate impacts on reservoir behavior, CO₂ migration, and trapping efficiency. Each mechanism is analyzed separately and within an integrated framework to assess their combined contributions. Results indicate that geomechanical coupling increases reservoir pressure, reduces CO₂ flow velocity, enhances migration control, and …

A Coupled Fractional Thermistor System Demonstrating Existence, Uniqueness, And Simulation Results With Two-Point Boundary Conditions, Yahia Awad, Angela Khattar, Hussein Fakih, Sami Hammoud, Karim Amin
Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications
This paper studies a coupled system of Caputo fractional differential equations of orders $\alpha, \beta\in(1,2]$, subject to two-point boundary conditions. The model incorporates nonlinear nonlocal integral terms that capture the memory-dependent interactions between thermal and electrical dynamics in thermistor materials. We rigorously establish existence via Schaefer’s fixed-point theorem and uniqueness through Banach’s contraction principle in a Banach space of continuous and continuously differentiable functions. Additionally, we analyze Ulam–Hyers stability to quantify solution sensitivity to initial perturbations. A numerical example highlights the effects of fractional orders and nonlocal feedback on system behavior. This work generalizes classical thermistor models and provides a …

Profile Of An Emerging Pastoral Wellness Leader, Nisaa Robinson
College of Arts and Cultural Studies
This essay presents a leadership profile of the author through the lens of leadership emergence and a reflective analysis process utilizing Robert Clinton’s leadership development model presented in The Making of A Leader (2012), a later consolidated four-phase timeline, and a Leadership Profile Worksheet (Appendix A). Nisaa Robinson's life, leadership, and ministry service are presented and analyzed in terms of phases, sub-phases, process items, and boundary events.

Purpose: The commercial determinants of health (CDoH) are the systems, practices, and pathways through which commercial actors drive health and equity. This review aimed to identify CDoH governance approaches, distinguishing between promoted and criticized approaches.
Design/Methodology/Approach: We conducted a systematic scoping review in PubMed and Google Scholar databases. Relevant grey literature was also identified through citation searching and reference list review. Our search strategy combined terms related to economic and commercial determinants of health, governance models, and health outcomes. English-language publications between January 2000 to December 2025 were included. Relevant data from included sources were extracted and then synthesized using …

Oral Histories
For many years, organizations such as Jack and Jill were the least of Solini’s concerns as she worked multiple jobs, working hard to support her family. Until she was about 30, when she was introduced to the organization through a neighbor, and was instantly intrigued by the service for the Bronx community. This was yet another opportunity Solini took in order to participate in community service. For her, the most impactful forms of service she participated in were the Black College Tour and her work with formerly incarcerated women. Through the Black College Tour program, high school students toured historically …

Oral Histories
Simone’s path to leadership was inspired by her late mentor, Charles Foster, who encouraged her to be an active voice in their community. After seeing issues with building maintenance and a lack of clear communication, Simone ran for office and was elected Treasurer of her Building Association in 2023. Through this role, she noticed that community work is complex and needs navigating different opinions, yet the experience ultimately reinforced her belief that community is a “verb.” To her, it is an intentional, ongoing action that requires showing up every day to hold the system accountable.
A significant aspect of Simone's …

Oral Histories
Coombs went on to attend Payne College in Georgia through a basketball scholarship. During his time at Payne, he became president of the undergraduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, where he fundraised. His time at Payne would be unfortunately cut short when he was wrongfully arrested for assault and robbery. This happened when he was leaving a jewelry store in the Bronx during one of his breaks from school.
This would effectively change the trajectory of Coombs’ life. He was tried three times, found guilty two times, but on the third time, he was declared innocent after the victim told …

Quality Improvement Project: Integrating Modified Early Warning Score (Mews) Criteria Into A Local Community College's Nursing Curriculum, Breanna C. Bell
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
There is an international priority for early recognition of patient deterioration with adequate responses to facilitate patient safety. The modified early warning score (MEWS) tool is commonly used to identify and respond to acute patient deterioration, so it is effective to educate nursing students on its use to influence their future practice. However, there is a lack of a curriculum to integrate MEWS criteria for associate degree in nursing (ADN) students at a local community college. This quality improvement project aimed to enhance ADN faculty’s self-efficacy and ability to integrate MEWS criteria into the didactic curriculum at a community college …

Background
In 2020–2021, both Mexico and the United States implemented similar, newly formatted nutrition facts labels (NFLs). Mexico simultaneously implemented front-of-package warning labels (FoPWLs), which emphasize high amounts of less healthy nutrients described in NFLs (e.g., calories, sugar, salt, trans fat, and saturated fat) to enhance consumer understanding of nutrition information. Objectives
To evaluate these policies by comparing pre- and postpolicy trends in self-reported responses to NFLs.Methods
Annual surveys from the adult International Food Policy Study (2018–2023) were analyzed for Mexico (n = 24,832) and the United States (n = 25,464). Outcomes included reported ease of finding …Engineers Week 2026, Raquel Estrada
