Graduate nursing programs increasingly rely on adjunct faculty to sustain enrollment growth; however, inconsistent onboarding processes may contribute to variability in faculty preparedness and job satisfaction. The purpose of this quality improvement project was to implement a standardized adjunct faculty education program and evaluate its impact on adjunct faculty knowledge and job satisfaction within an online Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. A quantitative, quasi-experimental one-group pre–post design was utilized. As cyberthreats to critical infrastructure remain prevalent, national response mechanisms must evolve beyond the technical domain to incorporate legal, communicative, strategic, and cross-sector coordination. This work explores Locked Shields, an annual exercise conducted by NATO's Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, as a pedagogical and conceptual framework for simulating whole-of-government responses to cyber incidents. Unlike traditional cyber exercises, Locked Shields engages legal advisors, media strategists, and civil-military roles in realistic, scenario-driven simulations that portray the political and operational conditions of a real international-scale cyber crisis. Two-step thermochemical cycles offer a clean route for hydrogen and oxygen production but are typically limited to high temperatures exceeding 1500 °C. Lowering operating temperatures would enable the use of alternative heat sources such as industrial waste heat. Here, we report Pr₃ZrO₈ as a new enabling material for efficient intermediate-temperature redox cycling, with thermal reduction at 900 °C in argon and steam oxidation at 400 °C. Pr₃ZrO₈ adopts a face-centered cubic structure similar to CeO₂ but exhibits significantly greater oxygen deficiency, achieving average oxygen and hydrogen fluxes of 331.7 and 70.3 µmol·g-1, respectively, …

SUPT16H encodes a subunit of the FACT (FAcilitates Chromatin Transcription) complex, a histone chaperone essential for maintaining chromatin integrity during transcription, replication, and DNA repair. Pathogenic de novo SUPT16H missense variants have previously been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders in eight individuals. Here, we expand the genotypic and phenotypic spectrum by identifying 24 additional individuals harboring ultrarare heterozygous missense or truncating variants, who share overlapping clinical features including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, hypotonia, and characteristic craniofacial dysmorphism. To elucidate the underlying mechanisms, we generated a supt16h knockout zebrafish model using CRISPR/Cas9. The supt16h loss-of-function (LOF) model recapitulated key patient phenotypes …

After polymer gel formation, the residual partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) and the crosslinker (Cr3+) caused plugging and decreased oil recovery. Microorganisms can degrade HPAM to address the issues, but Cr³⁺ inhibits the process and reduces oil recovery. This study explores the underexamined biodegradation of HPAM and improved oil recovery in the presence of Cr³⁺, offering new perspectives for microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) after polymer gel formation. HPAM and crude oil were innovatively used as the sole nitrogen(N) and carbon(C) sources to isolate the best-growing strain from Daqing Oilfield produced water, identified as Bacillus licheniformis SP01. Gradual reduction of cerebral blood flow occurs with aging, and it is a major cause of vascular dementia, a group of dementias with a cerebrovascular component. Interestingly, patients who have suffered a vascular insult may develop retinopathy, which may occur as an early symptom of vascular dementia. Several rodent models using young animals have been generated to mimic retinopathy caused by cerebral hypoperfusion; however, given that aging is an important factor in developing vascular dementia and hypoperfusion retinopathy, we propose to use aged (17-month-old) mice in a model of cerebral hypoperfusion. Improving the dispersion of colloidal quantum dots (QDs) within organic semiconductor (OSC) matrices remains critical for advancing hybrid nanocomposite optoelectronic technologies. This study investigates how film-deposition kinetics influence the morphology of TIPS-tetracene (TIPS-Tc):PbS QD blends, comparing spin-coating and blade coating for QDs ligated with either native oleic acid (OA) or a matched carboxylic acid functionalised tetracene analogue (TET-CA). Films spun-cast at low spin speeds form highly crystalline TIPS-Tc domains with highly aggregated QDs. Increased spin speed induces a deeper solvent quench, driving rapid TIPS-Tc nucleation while kinetically arresting QD diffusion, which improves QD dispersion within the crystalline matrix. By detecting the shifting in the azomethines band and the appearance of M-N and M-O bands, FT-IR confirmed the occurrence of coordination through N of azobenzene and two O atoms of beta lactam and ester, indicating the development of Schiff base complexes as well as the original Schiff base. Stigma is a mark of disgrace emerging from shared sets of negative attitudes and inaccurate beliefs. To be stigmatized is to be identified as ‘less-than,’ to be ‘disapproved of,’ to be the focus of often-uninformed criticism. Workplace bullying victims, those individuals targeted by bullies in their workplaces and inveigled/taken in by their bully counterparts’ subtly demeaning affronts, simultaneously become victims of stigma (Dzurec et al., 2014). Recent study data (Howard et al., under review) suggest that for victims, bullies’ affronting behaviors may, ultimately, override personal beliefs. Background: A 2023 Premiere Inc. survey reported that greater than 40% of US healthcare professionals have experienced at least one episode of workplace violence during the past two years. Confounding issues position healthcare professionals at increased risk for experiencing daily stress inducing situations including but not limited to: staffing related deficiencies, increased incidences of workplace violence, and increased risk for secondary victim incidents that perpetuate wounded healers.
