A Capability Maturity Model For Artificial Intelligence Integration In Supply Chain Management, Lordt Becklines Feb 2026

A Capability Maturity Model For Artificial Intelligence Integration In Supply Chain Management, Lordt Becklines

Dissertations

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Supply Chain Management (SCM), yet many organizations struggle to assess their readiness for AI adoption and to understand how AI capabilities develop across maturity stages. This dissertation addresses this gap by developing a Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for AI integration in SCM, grounded in Organizational Information Processing Theory (OIPT), the Resource-Based View, and related capability frameworks. The model provides a structured approach for evaluating an organization's information-processing requirements, resource configurations, and alignment needed for effective AI-enabled supply chain operations.

Using a design science research approach, the AI-SCM CMM and its associated assessment instrument were derived …

Showpower: A New Paradigm For Community Engagement, Sean Green Feb 2026

Showpower: A New Paradigm For Community Engagement, Sean Green

Community Engagement

For decades, the dominant paradigm in community engagement, education, and social work has relied heavily on the concept of "empowerment" to address the systemic gaps hindering marginalized populations. However, the etymological and practical applications of empowerment have increasingly devolved into a paternalistic, deficit-based model, implying a directional transfer of authority from a privileged institution to a subjugated community. As recent scholarship confirms, historically marginalized groups—such as first-generation and low-income students—continue to face persistent structural barriers despite decades of these traditional institutional interventions (López et al., 2023). This white paper formally introduces a novel theoretical framework, lexicon, and operational mindset: Showpower. …

Pharmacy Faculty Scholarship

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most lethal form of pancreatic cancer, with poor prognosis driven by late diagnosis, therapeutic resistance, and an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Interactions between tumor cells and immune cells promote immune evasion and tumor progression, limiting the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade and other immunotherapies. Given the high expression of trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2) in PDAC, we developed a TROP2-targeted Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist (E104) designed for selective accumulation within the tumor microenvironment to activate antitumor immunity. Although antibody bioactivity is traditionally linked to Fcγ receptor (FcγR) engagement and recruitment of effector cells, …

Faculty Research 2026

BACKGROUND. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic provided a rare opportunity to study how human immune responses develop to a novel viral antigen delivered through different vaccine platforms. However, to date, no study has directly compared immune responses to all 3 FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines at single-cell multiomic resolution.

METHODS. We longitudinally profiled SARS-CoV-2–naive adults (n = 31) vaccinated with BNT162b2, mRNA-1273, or Ad26.COV2.S, integrating plasma cytokines, antibody titers, and single-cell multiomic data (DOGMA-Seq).

RESULTS. We discovered a distinct, transient IFN program termed ISG-dim, which emerged specifically 1–2 days after the first mRNA dose in approximately 10% of myeloid cells. This state was …

Structure–Activity Modeling And Hybrid Machine Learning-Based Prediction Of Bioactivity In Pyrazole Derivatives For Drug Discovery Applications, Kader Şahi̇n, Serhat Kiliçarslan, Serdar Durdaği, Emi̇n Saripinar Feb 2026

Structure–Activity Modeling And Hybrid Machine Learning-Based Prediction Of Bioactivity In Pyrazole Derivatives For Drug Discovery Applications, Kader Şahi̇n, Serhat Kiliçarslan, Serdar Durdaği, Emi̇n Saripinar

Turkish Journal of Biology

Background/aim: Pyrazole derivatives are of growing interest due to their diverse pharmacological activities. However, their biological activity is often highly sensitive to subtle structural modifications. Existing quantitative structure–activity relationships (QSAR) approaches frequently fail to capture the conformational flexibility and nonlinear structure–activity relationships (SAR) of such heterocyclic scaffolds, creating a gap in the accurate prediction of their biological profiles. Therefore, there is a strong need for more robust and predictive computational frameworks. This study addresses this gap by integrating four-dimensional (4D)-QSAR descriptors with hybrid machine learning (ML) techniques to improve predictive accuracy and provide a more reliable tool for structure-based drug …

Population Satisfaction Indicators Of The Quality-Of-Life Standards During The Work Trip (A Case Study Of The Cities Of Minia And New Minia), Shimaa Mohammed Hamdy Derbala, Amna Waz Amgad Ali

Mansoura Engineering Journal

The research examined the indicators of population satisfaction with the quality of life during work trips in the cities of Minia and New Minia, in relation to the problem of low urban communication between the two cities and the continued dependence of debtors on each other to provide employment opportunities. The research examined previous studies linking the quality of life of work trips to the environmental, social and psychological aspects of the movement and economy, A questionnaire was designed for a sample of the population (388 individuals) to assess the residents' impression of the quality of life during their work …

Clinician Tele-Mental Health Attitudes In North American Indigenous Communities, Elleh A. Driscoll, Justin Douglas Mcdonald

Journal of Indigenous Research

This study examined mental health clinicians (n=104) serving North American Indigenous clients and how tele-mental health (TMH) factors during and after the COVID-19 pandemic impacted future willingness to continue TMH. Results indicated predictors of future TMH usage were not statistically significant due to the high baseline of willingness to utilize TMH, regardless of factors. The goal of this study was to investigate awareness of clinician attitudes of TMH and promote continued research and training for tele-mental health care with Indigenous populations.

Role Of Piezo1 Channels Expressed In Pvn In Regulating Sympathetic Nerve Activity And Arterial Blood Pressure In Rats, Yue Chen, Wei Guo, Jichun Wang, Min Wang, Yuying Yang, Gregory Miodonski, Enshe Jiang, Qing Hui Chen, Yi Yang, Renjun Wang

Michigan Tech Publications

Mechanosensitive Piezo1 channels participate in regulating pain sensitivity, insulin secretion, and vascular tension; however, their expression in the autonomic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and role in modulating sympathetic outflow and cardiovascular function remain unstudied. In this study, unilateral PVN microinjection of the Piezo1 channel blocker Dooku1 (0.1, 1, 10, 100, and 200 pmol) administered to anesthetized male rats increased renal sympathetic nerve activity (RSNA) and mean artery pressure (MAP) in a dose-dependent manner, with maximum increases of 93 ± 30% (p < 0.0001) and 21 ± 5 mmHg (p < 0.0001), respectively, elicited by Dooku1 at 100 pmol. Similarly, PVN microinjection of the peptide Piezo1 channel blocker GsMTx4 (1 nmol) significantly increased RSNA (p < 0.001) and MAP (p < 0.0001). Conversely, PVN-microinjected Piezo1 channel activators Yoda1 (5 nmol) and Jedi2 (5 nmol) did not significantly alter RSNA or MAP. Western blot and qRT-PCR analyses of the hypothalamic PVN showed abundant Piezo1 mRNA and protein expression. Immunofluorescence detection showed that Piezo1 was expressed in pre-sympathetic PVN neurons with axons projecting to the rostral ventrolateral medulla. We conclude that Piezo1 channels expressed in the autonomic PVN neurons play an important role in regulating sympathetic outflow and cardiovascular function.
