Purpose: Best practice recommendations for Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) programs include routine spoken language outcome monitoring. The present article reports on pilot data that evaluated the usability and feasibility of a spoken language outcome monitoring procedure developed for Ontario’s Infant Hearing Program (IHP). This procedure included both Program-level monitoring using omnibus language tests from birth to 6 years of age and individual vulnerability monitoring of key domains of spoken language known to be at risk in children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Background:

Making mathematics connections between home and school can have a positive impact on students’ mathematics learning. This is particularly important for students whose experiences and perspectives are underrepresented in school curricula. Although there is evidence for how crucial it is to make connections between mathematics instruction and children’s lived experiences, doing so is often a challenging task for teachers.

Chiastic structures are utilized throughout the entirety of the Bible but are prominently found in the book of Genesis. This paper aims to research the stories of four different patriarchal characters of the Bible to see how chiastic structures are used in these stories. By looking at the stories of Noah, Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph in Genesis, I will demonstrate the effectiveness of chiastic structures covering the entirety of the stories, as well as how smaller chiasmi work within each. This phenomenological study presented the lived experiences of eight high school principals who led through the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants represented eight different school from five school districts from across Colorado. Each participant’s school implemented 1:1 devices, namely Chromebooks or iPads, for each student prior to the pandemic’s onset. The research question that guided this study was: What are lived experiences of high school principals who led through the COVID-19 pandemic? High-dimensional data are increasingly popular in various physical science and social science disciplines. This study proposed a new computationally efficient sample splitting method called Neighborhood-Based Cross Fitting (NBCF) for double machine learning in causal inference on high-dimensional data. A common existing approach of repeatedly splitting data was suggested to address the overfitting problem in high-dimensional statistics, however it is computationally expensive. The proposed method deals well with the problem of post-selection bias in causal inference in the presence of high-dimensional confounders. Among these alloys Fe-Si-B-based alloys show outstanding saturation magnetization and coercivity which makes them great candidates for many industrial applications. Addition of certain elements to the Fe-Si-B base is proven to improve the homogeneity and fineness of microstructure as well as enhance the magnetic behavior of these alloys. Diatoms are well established in their usefulness to determine water quality and habitat assessments. In Central Florida, no research has been devoted to creating a baseline assemblage of freshwater diatoms. This study uses pH, conductivity, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen and total phosphorous to examine the relationship between environmental variables and diatom species composition among eight different sites. Environmental variables were not found to have a statistically significant impact on diatom assemblages in any of the water bodies; however, species composition was significantly different between sites, establishing a baseline of data for further studies to build upon. This article examines the different investment decision practices of the leader of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the COVID-19 health crisis and highlights the influence of the leader's psychological profile on these practices. Thus, primary data was collected from the interview guide and questionnaires submitted to 112 executives. The results obtained through the tests indicate the existence of a direct link (significant influence) between certain psychological profiles of the leader and investment decision-making practices in times of crisis.

We discuss our survey findings of perception differences between respondents from the MENA region relative to those in the US in terms of their awareness of environmental issues. This study investigates the relationship between manufacturing share in GDP (MVA) and growth for a balanced panel of 13 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) economies over the 1996-2019 period. We examine whether the impact of MVA on growth may change depending on the structural domestic conditions (SDC) including human capital, governance and financial development. Our panel fixed effects threshold estimation results suggest that SDC provides an endogenously estimated threshold for the sensitivity of growth to MVA. Accordingly, manufacturing is the engine of growth for the episodes of SDC exceeding the data-driven estimated threshold levels. We find that SDC, themselves, …

Measures of access to justice mainly use indicators from judicial statistics or legislation whereas subjective perceptions or attitudes are often measured by survey questions related to judicial services. Using Turkey’s Life Satisfaction Survey, we consider reluctance to report an experienced criminal incident, which is a factual statement, as an objective indicator affecting demand for and access to justice. We identify correlates of reluctance to report and find that socio-economic status has a negative impact on the probability of reporting a criminal incident, and that the impact is greater for women. Hepatitis C is an illness caused by the blood-borne Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and usually becomes a chronic condition. Left untreated, HCV can lead to severe liver disease and liver failure. Newer treatments are effective and well tolerated, but most people with chronic HCV are not accessing treatment due to several factors that will be discussed. The primary objectives of this quality improvement project were to improve the treatment cascade, provide education to providers and patients, and facilitate screening, virus confirmation, and referral to treatment, in a Federally Qualified Health Center.

The Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) was developed by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies, the industry-accepted protocol for condition rating of sewer pipes in the US. The PACP method relies exclusively on visual inspections performed using Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), where existing structural and operation and maintenance (O&M) defects are observed by certified operators.
