The reign of Louis XIV is characterized by his desire to control based on his political ideology of absolutism. This desire manifested itself in several political and social changes made across the kingdom, and through his parties and expansions at Versailles, which highlighted his sole power. Sovereign for seventy-two years, he personified the idea of divine power and centralized government, which ultimately created a general sense of restriction among the Sun King’s court. In other words, the aristocratic class was kept under the tight grasp of Louis XIV.

Purpose- The purpose of this study was to identify the attitudes consumers have towards buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) and its influence on customer satisfaction.

Design- Data were collected from 567 respondents and resulted in 476 usable responses. This paper uses multivariate regression and two separate multiple regression analyses to examine the differential effects of multiple constructs (i.e. perceived usefulness online, perceived ease of use online, trust online, hedonic values online, perceived usefulness pickup, perceived ease of use pickup, trust pickup and hedonic values pickup) on customer satisfaction within online ordering and physical pickup portions of BOPIS process.

The purpose of this case study is to optimize the design and production of an ethylbenzene-to-styrene manufacturing facility, Unit 500. Compared to the original base-case design, the optimizations presented in this document will save approximately $337 million dollars without compromising the production requirements or quality. Optimization of this process used net present value as an objective function, with changes centered around the reactors, but also the separation equipment and exchangers prior to separation, as those devices most directly controlled process stream contents and conditions. Latin American transport infrastructure underperforms the global standard across the board, and previous research indicates that deficient infrastructure deters economic and social development (Fay 2007). Using multiple research methods, this thesis explores how transport infrastructure relates to the economic global competitiveness of a nation. More specifically, the quantitative research includes regression analyses with quantity of varying infrastructure types (airports, roadways, railways, and navigable waterways) and the creation of an airport infrastructure index. A predominant source of complications in SARS-CoV-2 patients arises from severe systemic inflammation contributed to by Helper T-cell associated cytokines, potentially leading to tissue damage and organ failure. The high inflammatory burden of this viral infection often results in cardiovascular comorbidities. A better understanding of the interaction between the cytokine storm and cardiovascular proteins might inform medical decisions and therapeutic approaches. In this thesis, I will evaluate the relationship between the liberal political philosophy of John Rawls and the hermeneutical nihilism of the Italian philosopher and politician Gianni Vattimo. I will argue for congeniality as the best characterization of this relationship. While East and West Germany reunified into one country in 1990, populist parties have done better in the former GDR than in the “old lands”. This paper draws on the political science literature on populism performing better in the absence of robust civil society, as well as the specific history of the region. Intuitive eating strives to consciously listen to the internal hunger and fullness cues our body provides, as humans often practiced long before counting calories and dieting existed. Rational thought, instinct, and emotion influence an intuitive eater’s decision-making and allow for full capability in navigating food decisions. While intuitive eating habits can benefit any individual, little research has compared the intuitive eating habits between collegiate students and student-athletes. measures unconditional permission to eat, eating for physical rather than emotional reasons, reliance on hunger and fullness cues, and body-food choice congruence. Gelatin nanoparticles have been known to be used as a drug transporter to target sick tissues like those of cancer. Gelatin nanoparticles have long been engineered by one-step and two-step desolvation processes. Yet, manufacturing gelatin nanoparticles of reproducible size has not been accomplished successfully. This research will look at how the starting processing steps such as gelatin solution pH adjustment and incubation times influenced the size of gelatin nanoparticles. Gelatin solution pH incubation times between 0 and 24 hours showed an increase in gelatin nanoparticle size in those manufactured by one-step desolvation. Detonation synthesis of silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles from carbon liberated by negatively oxygen balanced explosives was evaluated in a 23 factorial design to determine the effects of three categorical experimental factors: (1) cyclotrimethylene-trinitramine (RDX)/2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) ratio, (2) silicon (Si) additive concentration, and (3) Si particle size. These factors were evaluated at low and high levels as they relate to the detonation performance of the explosive and the solid Si-containing phases produced. Background: Changes in the expression and activity of the AKT oncogene play an important role in psychiatric disease. We present translational data assessing the role of AKT in psychiatric symptoms.

Methods: (1) We assessed the protein activity of an AKT3 mutant harboring a PH domain mutation (Q60H) detected in a patient with schizophrenia, the corresponding AKT1 mutant (Q61H), and wild-type AKT1 and AKT3 transduced in AKT-null mouse fibroblasts and modeled the Q61H mutation onto the crystal structure of the Akt1 PH domain. At the same time, antibiotic resistance and the spread of new viruses have driven a need for antimicrobial and antiviral materials. A sustainable way to make materials antibacterial or antiviral is to use essential oils. Eugenol is a commonly used essential oil for these purposes, but it has been found to cause tissue irritation on contact. After returning home from inpatient care, survivors of stroke have several ongoing needs related to this transition that are not always fully addressed, leading to poor community reintegration and psychosocial well-being. The purpose of this capstone project was to modify a community-based occupational therapy program to improve community reintegration and psychosocial well-being among survivors of stroke. One significant modification was the implementation of a survivor support group focused on psychosocial topics. Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is described as an evidence-based, patient-centered, interdisciplinary team developed protocol utilized to decrease the patient’s stress response to surgery, maintain preoperative physiologic function, and expedite recovery (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists [AANA], 2017). Existing evidence displayed the benefits of utilizing ERAS protocols in various surgical procedures, including general and orthopedic cases. Studies showed one must employ the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative components of the ERAS protocols to achieve maximum benefits.
