The Multiplicity Of Grammatical Faces In Case Issue Between Sibawaieh And Late Grammarians, Mutasem Basem Gwadareh May 2022

The Multiplicity Of Grammatical Faces In Case Issue Between Sibawaieh And Late Grammarians, Mutasem Basem Gwadareh

Al-Balqa Journal for Research and Studies البلقاء للبحوث والدراسات

This research deals with the difference between Sibawaieh’s making in the Multiplicity of the grammatical faces in the case issues. And the making of late grammarians in that Multiplicity. It stands at the reality of the transformation from multiple faces to monotheism and reveals the causes of this multiplicity and how it appeared in contextual and linguistic conditions, and shows how it absent and defaced by all the late grammarians. The research shows that both makings relate to the nature of the language whose grammar was written, and the extent to which its people at all times need that plurality. …

Input Lift-Off Detection And Drift Compensation For Presence-Sensitive Devices, Mingyuan Zhong, Wenxin Feng, Shumin Zhai

Defensive Publications Series

A mobile computing device (e.g., smartwatch, smartphone, tablet computer, laptop computer with touchscreen input, etc.) may determine when a user has lifted their finger, pen, pencil, stylus, or other input element from a presence-sensitive input device (e.g., resistive touchscreens, surface acoustic wave touchscreens, capacitive touchscreens, projective capacitance touchscreens, pressure sensitive screens, acoustic pulse recognition screens, etc.) and may compensate for drift in the touch centroid resulting from the lifting off of the input element. The mobile computing device may use a sliding window analysis, a recurrent neural network, or other algorithms to determine when a user has begun moving the …

Operating System-Level Survey Platform, Krishna Shukla May 2022

Operating System-Level Survey Platform, Krishna Shukla

Defensive Publications Series

An operating system (OS) of a computing device (e.g., a smartphone, mobile phone, a tablet computer, a laptop computer, a wearable device, etc.) may provide a survey platform that applications installed at the computing device can use to generate customizable, general-purpose surveys. For instance, the OS may allow the applications to perform a library call or a remote procedure call (RPC) to generate a customizable survey graphical user interface (GUI), which may be overlay-based, notification-based, etc. In some examples, the OS may control (e.g., restrict, limit, regulate, etc.) usage of the survey platform by the applications based on OS-wide permissions …

Content-Based Display Color Enhancement Using Dynamic Memory Color Protection, Farnaz Agahian, Daniel Solomon

Defensive Publications Series

A computing device (e.g., a smartphone, a laptop computer, a tablet computer, a smartwatch, etc.) may apply color enhancement (e.g., by modifying digital values of red, green, and blue additive primaries to increase color saturation of colors originally in the sRGB color space) to content (e.g., an image, a video, etc.) without causing objects within the content to appear unrealistic to a user. For example, the computing device may apply a machine learning model to label objects (e.g., based on image features) within the content. Based on the labels, the computing device may determine whether color enhancement should be applied …

Defining And Enforcing Privacy Restrictions For Software Applications, Eugenio Marchiori May 2022

Defining And Enforcing Privacy Restrictions For Software Applications, Eugenio Marchiori

Defensive Publications Series

This publication describes systems and techniques for defining and enforcing privacy restrictions for software applications that can execute on different versions of an operating system, including versions of operating systems that do not natively support enforcement of privacy features and restrictions for software applications. Applications may be written using a software development kit (SDK), which may include a library that defines application programming interfaces (APIs) and privacy characteristics of the features of the applications built using such APIs. The applications written using the SDK may execute within containers that apply constraints to actions that applications executing within the containers can …

The Impact Of Various Food Additive Chemicals On The Heart Rates Of Daphnia Magna, Vignesh Tiruvannamalai '24

Methods in Scientific Inquiry

The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effects that common food additive chemicals have on the heart rates of Daphnia magna, considering that there are health concerns for humans regarding numerous food additives. Various food additives that have different purposes were used, as was a control group. In order to conduct this experiment, solutions for each of these chemicals were created based on the concentrations found in processed food. Three Daphnia magna were exposed to each solution for 20, 25, and 30 minutes respectively, and the heart rate of each was recorded using a microscope. The hypothesis was …
