This study aimed to assess changes in social attitudes/beliefs and behavioural intentions related to FGM and gender as a result of community-directed interventions to accelerate positive changes in social attitudes towards ending the practice. The study was conducted in the context of The Girl Generation support to – Africa-Led Movement (TGG-ALM) programme implementation in Somaliland using public opinion poll and vignettes. Key intervention activities implemented by TGG-ALM included conducting community intergenerational dialogues and small grants for community-based organizations to implement interventions at the community level.

This thesis investigates the real-world behavior of LLM-driven coding agents that generate code changes and submit pull requests (PRs) to public software repositories. As these tools evolve from autocomplete-style assistants into more autonomous agents, their contributions increasingly interact with socio-technical review processes (human reviewers, bots, CI/CD gates, and project norms). The thesis focuses on understanding why agent-generated PRs are accepted or rejected and what these outcomes reveal about current agent limitations in practical development workflows.

This research focuses on the development of innovative hydrophilic reverse osmosis (RO) hydroxyapatite/cellulose acetate (HAP/CA) and magnetic-hydroxyapatite (M-HAP)/CA membranes, utilizing a phase-inversion technique with varying nanoparticles (NPs) concentration. The positioning of magneto-responsive M-HAP NPs within the advanced M-HAP/CA membranes was adeptly controlled using magnetic guidance during immersion- precipitation process in a coagulation bath. This precise control enabled a densely organized arrangement of M-HAP NPs, shifting from the membrane's core to its upper separation layer. Objective To estimate the incidence and identify risk factors for hospital-presenting self-harm and suicide among justice-involved adolescents serving community-based orders in New South Wales, Australia. Method We conducted a population-based retrospective cohort study of 44,887 adolescents aged 10–17 years at first proven offence who received community-based orders between 1994 and 2020. Hospital and emergency department records were linked with mortality, child protection, and justice data. The Rowley Shoals, off northwestern Australia, are renowned as a biodiversity hotspot. This remote system comprises three atolls, Clerke, Imperieuse and Mermaid, which in recent years have been increasingly targeted by illegal fishing, a pressure rising across the Indo-Pacific. The objective of this study was to quantify recent changes in sea cucumber assemblages across the Rowley Shoals. We surveyed nine sea cucumber species at monitoring sites in 2018 and 2023 to assess changes in their abundance. Total assemblage densities declined significantly across all atolls and habitats. Objective: Residential Medication Management Review (RMMR) is a government-funded pharmacist-led service to address medication-related problems, such as polypharmacy, which are prevalent in aged care. Despite known benefits, concerns remain about the service's effective implementation to benefit residents. We aimed to explore stakeholders' perspectives of the service and identify challenges and improvement opportunities. Water contamination by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) poses a major environmental challenge due to their persistence. This study evaluates positively charged, green-synthesized β-cyclodextrin polymers (β-CDP⁺) for the removal of perfluorobutanoic acid (PFBA) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) as short- and long-chain PFAS, respectively, from water. Methyl orange (MO) and acid red 1 (AR1), as anionic dyes, were used as proxies to optimize PFAS adsorption conditions. β-CDP⁺ exhibited high removal efficiencies (>90%) for all pollutants within 15–50 mg/L, reaching equilibrium within 30 min. Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) with pleural metastases is rare and under-recognised. We report an 86-year-old woman with progressive dyspnoea and pleuritic chest pain. 18 months ago, she was diagnosed with stage IIC ALM of the right heel, and was treated with wide local excision, but she declined adjuvant therapy. Imaging demonstrated a large left pleural effusion with diffuse pleural thickening, pulmonary mass, and hepatic metastases. Brownish pleural fluid, along with thoracoscopic identification of multiple pigmented nodules, led to a histologically confirmed diagnosis. Purpose: Building on the identification of ABCB5 as a marker of limbal stem cells (LSCs), this study examines CD63, a newly identified molecule co-expressed with ABCB5 in limbal epithelial cells, to define its role in maintaining corneal epithelial cell identity. Methods: RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed on flow cytometry–sorted Abcb5-positive and Abcb5-negative murine corneal epithelial cells. CD63 expression in human corneal tissue was assessed by immunostaining.
