The Ocean Color Instrument (OCI), the primary payload of the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) observatory, will collect data to monitor the health of Earth’s oceans and atmosphere. The Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) Detection Assembly (SDA) was built and characterized by the Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) and is a subsystem of OCI. The SDA measures seven bands centered at 940, 1038, 1250, 1378, 1615, 2130, and 2260 nm, with standard- and high-gain varieties for the 1250 and 1615 nm bands, resulting in nine total detection configurations in the SWIR. Spectral characterizations were made of the Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) short-wave infrared (SWIR) Detection Subassembly (SDS) responses (940–2260 nm) prior to their integration. Using modulated output light from a Fourier transform spectrometer, the in-band relative spectral responses of the nine different configurations of SDSs were found along with out-of-band (OOB) sensitivity. From these spectral responses, the center wavelengths (λ₀), full widths at half of the maximum, full widths at 1% of the maximum, and OOB rejection ratios were determined. No studies have been found on the psychological effects of applying sense of coherence, hope, and spiritual perspective by African American (AA) breast cancer survivors. These variables have each been positively associated with psychological well-being. Although AA women are exposed to major life stressors such as breast cancer, many continue to have high levels of psychological well-being. The reasons for this are unknown.

Suppression of dangerous or inappropriate reward-motivated behaviors is critical for survival, whereas therapeutic or recreational opioid use can unleash detrimental behaviors and opioid use disorder (OUD). Nevertheless, the neuronal systems that suppress maladaptive motivated behaviors remain unclear, and whether opioids disengage those systems is unknown. Here, we investigate the posterior paraventricular thalamus (pPVT) as a behavioral mediator due to its strong connectivity with brain structures important for reward processing, such as the nucleus accumbens (NAc). Introduction: This study was designed to analyze the cephalometric changes in adult Class III malocclusion treated with clear aligner therapy. Methods: In this retrospective study, thirty-six Class III adult patients treated with clear aligner therapy in private practice and a graduate orthodontic clinic were included in this study. Inclusion criteria included patients aged 18 years and older, Class III molar relationship that is end-on or greater, at least one anterior tooth that is in crossbite or incisors in an edge-to-edge bite, and complete records (initial and final lateral cephalograms) that are clear and traceable. Corporate Tax Avoidance and Fraud Risk

There is mixed evidence on whether corporate tax avoidance (CTA) is positively or negatively related to aggressive financial reporting. The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) requires that auditors assess fraud risks that are related to aggressive financial reporting. In this study I extend the research of CTA by examining the relationship between CTA and fraud risk. I use accrual quality related variables, performance variables, and non-financial measures (NFMs) to measure fraud risk. BACKGROUND: Over half of all fatal complications occur during primary laparoscopic entry. In our practice, we developed a novel modification of closed LUQ entry at Palmer's point and designated it "E-Z" entry.

AIMS: To evaluate the risks and safety of left subcostal entry, a technique we have designated 'E-Z' entry at our institution.

SETTINGS AND DESIGN: A retrospective chart review was conducted at a tertiary care medical centre of patients who underwent laparoscopic procedures by a single surgeon known to perform left subcostal entry for the last 10 years, using the E-Z entry technique.

High-harmonic generation (HHG) in solids has been touted as a way to probe ultrafast dynamics and crystal symmetries in condensed matter systems. Here, we investigate the polarization properties of high-order harmonics generated in monolayer MoS2, as a function of crystal orientation relative to the mid-infrared laser field polarization. At several different laser wavelengths we experimentally observe a prominent angular shift of the parallel-polarized odd harmonics for energies above approximately 3.5 eV, and our calculations indicate that this shift originates in subtle differences in the recombination dipole strengths involving multiple conduction bands. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The neurological course after stroke is highly variable and is determined by demographic, clinical and genetic factors. However, other heritable factors such as epigenetic DNA methylation could play a role in neurological changes after stroke.

METHODS: We performed a three-stage epigenome-wide association study to evaluate DNA methylation associated with the difference between the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) at baseline and at discharge (ΔNIHSS) in ischaemic stroke patients.
