Progress in the management of rare diseases, including rare cancers, is dependent upon clinical trials; however, as many as 32% of rare-disease trials go uncompleted or unpublished due to insufficient accrual. Monitoring practices may differ between institutions. We sought to survey the regulatory standards for various trial types among major U.S. cancer centers. A 10-question survey was designed using Qualtrics assessment software. The survey was sent via email to an internal server of member institutions of the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI). Of 103 AACI centers, 31% completed the survey (n = 32). Sexual assault is a long-standing widespread problem. Yet, despite the high prevalence of sexual assault, it is the most underreported crime of all crimes reported to the police (Bureau of Justice, 2018). The #MeToo movement has had a significant impact on the way in which sexual assault survivors disclose their experiences and the reasons they disclose. Homeless populations create health, safety, and financial complications for municipalities. The SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics in low- and middle-income countries remain poorly understood. This study aimed to estimate the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies seroprevalence in Jakarta, Indonesia, and to increase knowledge of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in urban settings. A population-based serosurvey among individuals aged one year or older was conducted in Jakarta. Employing a multistage sampling design, samples were stratified by district, slum, and non-slum residency, sex, and age group. Blood samples were tested for IgG against three different SARS-CoV-2 antigens. Seroprevalence was estimated after applying sample weights and adjusting for cluster characteristics. This study aimed to determine predictors of anxiety among healthcare providers toward the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 371 healthcare providers in Java and Bali Islands, and the snowball sampling technique was used. This study aimed to investigate the perspectives of reproductive health education among Javanese parents of children aged 9-11 years. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 12,306 parents in Semarang City, Central Java Province, Indonesia, using a purposive sampling technique. Some parents agreed that reproductive health education at home was unnecessary (29.5%), taboo (45%), difficult (73.1%), and awkward (41.5%). Most parents (72.7%) were not transparent in providing reproductive health information to their children by using other terms to name the genitals, considering the politeness aspect. Good practices of providing reproductive health information are slightly more common in mothers (54.2%), unemployed parents …

The Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal (“AELJ”) strongly and unequivocally condemns Yeshiva University’s treatment of its LGBTQ+ undergraduate students. New York courts found that Yeshiva University’s refusal to recognize and fund the undergraduate LGBTQ+ group, Pride Alliance, was in violation of NYC Human Rights Law because Yeshiva University is chartered as an educational corporation, receives public funds, and is, therefore, not eligible for the Human Rights Law religious corporation exemption. Yeshiva now petitions the Supreme Court of the United States to stay that judgment so it may continue to discriminate against LGBTQ+ students in the name of religious freedom. …

Fourth Amendment violations call upon courts to resolve the difficult question of who will benefit from past misconduct—the factually guilty defendant or the overreaching government. Either way, courts are forced to punish the misdeed of one actor and allow the other to profit from its misconduct, potentially undermining the public’s trust in the courts. The Supreme Court opined that suppressing unlawfully obtained evidence through the exclusionary rule deters police misconduct and better preserves judicial integrity. It matters where a case is heard. Venue and jurisdiction are not solely dry, esoteric matters—they impact the course of litigation and litigants’ rights. In general, plaintiffs prefer to litigate in state court, while defendants prefer federal court. Unfortunately for defendants, federal courts have limited jurisdiction. To remove an action from state to federal court, defendants must plausibly characterize an action as fitting within a particular jurisdictional grant. As attentive civil procedure students remember from World-Wide Volkswagen Corp. v. Woodson, defendants go to extraordinary lengths to avoid plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions.

On its face, an arbitration agreement suggests a straightforward process: should a dispute between the parties subject to the agreement arise, the dispute will be resolved through arbitration rather than litigation. But sometimes the parties do not follow this seemingly predetermined path. For example, many employers include mandatory, boilerplate arbitration agreements as conditions of employment.
