Orthodontists often have difficulty distinguishing between growth and displacement when it comes to the mandible and often the two are merged into one and referred to as just mandibular growth. It is clinically important to distinguish between the two as it can greatly affect the choice of treatment protocol and mechanics. Purpose: The aim of the study was to introduce a new cephalometric parameter, the MSG angle; and to assess the effectiveness of the MSG angle to diagnose the vertical skeletal discrepancy of the face.

Methods: One hundred and fifty pretreatment Lateral Cephalometric Radiographs (LCRs) of patients between 14 to 35years (Mean ± SD: 19.6 ± 4.93) were included. هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تعرّف دور مديري المدارس الحكومية في زيادة دافعية معلمي الرياضيات نحو مهنة التدريس في مديرية التربية والتعليم في لواء بني كنانة بمحافظة اربد من وجهة نظر المعلّمين أنفسهم، في ضوء بعض المتغيرات (الجنس، المؤهل العلمي، والخبرة التعليمية). تكونت عينة الدراسة من (55) معلم ومعلمة رياضيات، واختيرت بأسلوب العينة العشوائية البسيطة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، تم تطوير استبانة تكونت بصورتها النهائية من (20) فقرة، وفق تدريج ليكرت الخماسي. وتم استخدام البرمجية الاحصائية (SPSS) لتحليل البيانات.

The European Union Emissions Trading System has raised concerns about possible detrimental effects on firms production through an increase in polluting costs, unless firms change inputs or increase the efficiency in the way they produce. We provide evidence of the causal impact of this policy on firms' input choices and on total factor productivity on Italian manufacturing firms. Our empirical strategy combines structural estimation of firms' production function and techniques for policy evaluation. Sustaining The Individual In The Collective: A Kantian Perspective For A Sustainable World, Zachary Vereb

Faculty and Student Publications

Individualist normative theories appear inadequate for the complex moral challenges of climate change. In climate ethics, this is especially notable with the relative marginalization of Kant. I argue that Kant's philosophy, understood through its historical and cosmopolitan dimensions, has untapped potential for the climate crisis. First, I situate Kant in climate ethics and evaluate his marginalization due to perceived individualism, interiority and anthropocentrism. Then, I explore aspects of Kant's historical and cosmopolitan writings, which present a global, future-orientated picture of humanity. Ultimately, Kant's philosophy offers a unique take on the climate deadlock capable of sustaining the individual in the collective.

Heart failure occurs when the heart is not able to pump blood and oxygen to support other organs in the body as it should. Treatments include medications and sometimes hospitalization. Patients with heart failure can have both cardiovascular as well as non-cardiovascular comorbidities. Clinical notes of patients with heart failure can be analyzed to gain insight into the topics discussed in these notes and the major comorbidities in these patients. Transcriptomic analysis of the mammalian retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) aims to identify cellular networks that influence ocular development, maintenance, function, and disease. However, available evidence points to RPE cell heterogeneity within native tissue, which adds complexity to global transcriptomic analysis. Here, to assess cell heterogeneity, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of RPE cells from two young adult male C57BL/6J mice. Following quality control to ensure robust transcript identification limited to cell singlets, we detected 13,858 transcripts among 2667 and 2846 RPE cells. Dimensional reduction by principal component analysis and uniform manifold approximation and projection revealed six distinct cell populations. All …
