Objective: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are associated with physical and mental health conditions and linked to chronic health conditions among adults who have experienced trauma or toxic stress. ACEs are associated with severe health and social difficulties among children and adults, such as low productivity, mental health, substance abuse, chronic diseases, and short life expectancy. One in four children in the U.S. between the ages of 12 and 17 has at least experienced two or more ACEs. ACEs are more prevalent among underserved and ethnic minority groups. Incivility is a notorious issue in the nursing profession and has negative consequences for both nurses and patients. Research exists regarding the positive effects of implemented healthy work environment (HWE) initiatives on nurse satisfaction; however, research has not been expanded to evaluate the effect HWE initiatives have on incivility. The purpose of this project is to implement a HWE initiative at a community hospital to mitigate and prevent incivility. The implemented HWE initiative has the potential to positively influence nursing practice and patient outcomes.

Electric vehicles (EVs) emit substantially fewer air pollutants than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. However, the continuous increase in electricity demand from the power grid for EV charging, resulting from the growing adoption and total vehicle miles traveled, leads to higher greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector. Precise estimation of evapotranspiration (ET) is essential for sustainable water management in arid agroecosystems, particularly for high-water-demand crops such as rice. This study integrated very-high-resolution UAV thermal–multispectral imagery with a Two-Source Energy Balance model (UAV–TSEB) and a field-calibrated AquaCrop model to quantify daily ET and its components under continuous flooding on the arid Peruvian coast during the 2024–2025 season. A network of 24 drainage lysimeters provided an independent observational benchmark (ET_lys); to represent the treatment-level response, lysimeter observations were aggregated as the mean across the 24 units for each UAV campaign. Tart cherry is an important fruit crop in Utah, where irrigation is essential due to arid conditions. Precision irrigation requires reliable indicators of plant water status, and stem water potential (Ψ_stem), is among the most sensitive though labor-intensive and spatially limited. This study develops Ψ_stem estimation models using high-resolution multispectral Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imagery combined with meteorological and soil moisture data, applying Symbolic Regression (SR). Results show a stronger correlation between optical bands and Ψ_stem during the pre-harvest period. Among 85 vegetation indices, the Red Chromatic Coordinate (RCC) index performed best (R² = 0.67). …

This report takes a comprehensive look at teacher retention and mobility in South Carolina’s public schools during a period of post-pandemic stabilization. Data show that by the 2024–25 academic year, teacher retention at the state, district, and school levels had largely returned to pre-pandemic numbers, reflecting renewed workforce stability across much of the state. At the same time, retention and mobility remain important workforce and policy considerations. Understanding where teachers move within the system—and where retention challenges persist—can help ensure instructional continuity, preserve institutional knowledge within schools, and support the long-term return on public investments in teacher preparation and professional …

Myeloid leukemia of Down syndrome (ML-DS) is a distinct form of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that responds to reduced-intensity chemotherapy, as compared with non-DS AML that requires intensive chemotherapy and often stem cell transplant. While most patients with ML-DS have a favorable prognosis, outcomes for those with refractory or relapsed disease are dismal. Children's Oncology Group study AAML1531 introduced the use of measurable residual disease by multiparameter flow cytometry at the end of the first course of induction therapy (EOI-1 MRD) for risk stratification of treatment intensity. Increasing socio-economic diversity in the dental workforce has previously been reported to improve access to care in underserved areas. Human muscle biopsies are often required to study or diagnose diseases. However, traditional approaches are challenging due to limited sample size, quality, or participant discomfort. Fine-gauge needle biopsies (≥ 14-gauge), present an alternative but may yield insufficient tissue for comprehensive analysis. Ultrasound guidance, coupled with vacuum-assisted, single needle-insertion multiple sampling addresses these challenges. In 19 healthy participants (mean age: 30.1 ± 10 years, 42% male), 2-3 samples were collected from a single needle insertion into the vastus lateralis (VL) and tibialis anterior (TA). Summed VL and TA sample masses averaged 148 ± 38 mg and 166 ± 64 mg, with …

BACKGROUND: Implementation strategies are dynamic and multi-faceted, and may require adaptations to fit implementation contexts, especially in lower-and-middle income countries. We report the adaptations for an ongoing late-stage implementation science trial (R01HL147811) that integrates hypertension management into HIV care in Lagos, Nigeria - a country with a high dual-disease burden - through the Task Strengthening Strategy for Hypertension (TASSH) intervention and Practice Facilitation implementation strategy.

Melanoma is the most lethal of the common skin cancers, and its incidence continues to rise in the United States. Access to dermatologic specialty care remains below recommended benchmarks, particularly in rural and nonmetropolitan regions. This descriptive, population-based analysis examined melanoma incidence and dermatologist availability across five selected counties in southwest Missouri, with limited county-level mortality reporting. Age-adjusted melanoma incidence data were obtained from the State Cancer Profiles database (National Cancer Institute and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and standardized to the 2000 U.S. population. Objective: Endometriosis is associated with significant diagnostic delays, averaging 6.7 years, largely due to nonspecific symptoms and inadequate diagnostic approaches. Over 15,000 emergency department (ED) visits in the United States annually involve patients with endometriosis, highlighting the need for knowledge of endometriosis. This study surveys emergency medicine (EM) attendings, residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and fellows to assess knowledge and practice in managing endometriosis-related ED complaints. Purpose: There is growing scientific interest in incorporating patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in early phase dose-finding oncology trials (DFOTs) to assess tolerability, inform dose selection, and guide later stage trial design. However, research indicates that PRO objectives in DFOTs are often unclear. The Incorporating Patient-Reported Outcomes in Dose-Finding Trials-Research Objectives Recommendations (OPTIMISE-ROR) project was established to support trialists to effectively incorporate PROs into DFOTs.

Although previous studies have examined the drug development and clinical trial success rates in oncology, a comprehensive analysis of development success rate in lymphoma has not been performed. Therefore, we analyzed lymphoma trials initiated between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2019, using the Trialtrove database and ClinicalTrials.gov. We identified phase 1, 2, and 3 trials that included patients with lymphoma and analyzed the transition rate of investigational agents across phases and their US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval rates to assess the efficiency and success of the clinical development process. Pooled multi-dataset benchmarks are an attractive way to evaluate intrusion detection systems (IDS) across heterogeneous public corpora, but they can quietly reward shortcut features tied to capture schedules and dataset identity. This work introduces TRACER, an auditable benchmark specification that standardizes seven public IDS corpora into a shared transaction-window prediction unit and a shared label ontology, enabling controlled comparisons between compact sequence backbones and strong tabular baselines under matched splits, training budgets, and scoring rules.

Introduction: This study evaluated and compared the accuracy and reliability of two intraoral scanners, iTero Element 1 and Panda P2, with conventional plaster models for essential orthodontic measurements.

Methods: Thirty subjects were evaluated using three methods: plaster casts, iTero Element 1, and Panda P2. Inter-canine distance, inter-molar distance, overjet, overbite, and Bolton’s ratios were measured. Data was analysed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post-hoc test after confirming normality (Shapiro–Wilk). Intra-operator reliability was assessed using Dahlberg’s formula and ICC.

Results: No statistically significant differences were observed among the three methods (p > 0.05). Both scanners demonstrated high repeatability and minimal measurement error, …

The purpose of this quantitative quasi-experimental pretest-posttest study was to determine whether there is a significant difference in the growth in reading proficiency among third-grade struggling readers receiving different reading intervention programs: the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) or i-Ready curriculum-based interventions. The study is important because the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) has reported a concerning decline in literacy rates, particularly among students with dyslexia.
