Imaging Diagnostics For Jet Breakup Into Droplets: A Review, Anu Osta
Imaging Diagnostics For Jet Breakup Into Droplets: A Review, Anu Osta
Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering Departmental Research
A concise review of the recent developments in some of the standard optical diagnostics applied for primary jet breakup studies has been presented here. Primary breakup is the core breakup of liquid jets and sheets into droplets upon its interaction with the ambient gaseous atmosphere. This phenomenon is encountered in various aerodynamic, fluid dynamic, and combustion situations. The imaging diagnostics reviewed here include photography, high-speed imaging, shadowgraphy, digital holography, ballistic imaging, jet core illumination, thermal imaging, Mie imaging, x-ray phase contrast imaging, and laser-induced fluorescence. The advantages and limitations of each technique, their success, and future developmental trend are discussed.

Introduction
- Fewer than half the young adults diagnosed with autism are employed (Gotham et al., 2015; Chiang, et al, 2013).
- Individuals diagnosed with autism have a higher rate of unemployment compared to those with other disabilities (Buescher et al., 2014).
- Educators of individuals diagnosed with autism stress employment as a desired and measured outcome (Schall et al. 2012).
- Parents of individuals diagnosed with autism rated employment support as the greatest service priority (Neary et al.,2015).
- Individuals diagnosed with autism are 7.36 times more likely to be in paid employment if they receive vocational services (Park & Bouk, 2018).

The Reece Museum Exhibition Publications
Old Deery Inn & Museum: Tennessee Antiquities & the Social Life of Stories is an exhibition based on qualitative ethnographic research conducted in 2016- 2017 by Rebecca Proffitt. The goal of the study was to explore the multiplicity of meanings that are attached to the Old Deery Inn through its importance as a historical landmark within its community, its tradition of hosting a living history museum that interprets local culture, and its place within the official narrative of the Appalachian region as it is represented in tourism literature. The Inn is situated within a variety of narratives that, when layered …

Creative thinking ability is one of the thinking concepts used to find ideas that people are starting to be interested in. Creative thinking can be used as a relevant tool in building innovation and as a method for building innovation models, one of which is a learning model. The project-based learning model is a solution that influences students' activeness and creativity in learning. The purpose of this research is to apply a project-based learning model that is expected to improve students' creative thinking abilities on creative product and entrepreneurship subjects on the Internet of Things material. The development model used …

Florensis: More Catholic Than The Pope?, Gerard Van Der Star, Arjen Van Klink, Florensis
Case Studies
The beauty of a family business is that it always keeps an eye on the continuity of the business. For a family business nothing is more important than long-term continuity and harmony. A good balance between family and business interests is essential24. In any case, the focus is on the long term25. How can Florensis ensure that the fifth and sixth generations and the numerous employees can still enjoy the benefits of this beautiful company. The Calvinist and Christian roots of Florensis ensured from the outset that the human factor was central and key. Without this people orientation quality production …

The Bear Essentials
Bear Essentials is an online newsletter published by the Student Activities Council of Des Moines Area Community College. The newsletter was established in early 2020 when DMACC closed its facilities due to the coronavirus pandemic. The newsletter covers topics such as upcoming virtual activities and events, college resources, and community service opportunities. When asked about the origins of the newsletter, Student Activities Advisor Erin Smith said, "We wanted students to know they were not alone, the entire DMACC Community was coming together to help support one another in any way possible."
Simulation Modeling Of A High-Throughput Oyster Cryopreservation Pathway, Sarah Bodenstein, Isabelina Nahmens, Terrence R. Tiersch
Simulation Modeling Of A High-Throughput Oyster Cryopreservation Pathway, Sarah Bodenstein, Isabelina Nahmens, Terrence R. Tiersch
Faculty Publications
The genetic resources of oysters in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico are threatened due to high unexplained oyster mortality. Germplasm repositories are collections of cryopreserved genetic material stored alongside associated information that are used to protect genetics resources and facilitate breeding programs in agricultural industries. Therefore, there is great need for oyster repositories. Development of repositories has been slow despite research on high-Throughput cryopreservation protocols because of logistical complexities. The goal of this study was to begin to address the gap between cryopreservation research and repository development in oyster aquaculture by modeling a cryopreservation protocol to understand and improve …

Conflict And Nature: How War In Cambodia Shaped Its Natural Landscape, Emily Lifs
Theses and Dissertations
Through the efforts of the Cambodian people and historians, the world is familiar with the tragic human story that unfolded over decades of war and the brutal rule of the Khmer Rouge. This thesis is an attempt to tell the equally tragic but untold story of how decades of conflict shaped the Cambodian landscape and the lives and populations of elephants and other animals.

This study introduces electro-optical (EO) sensors (TurbNet sensors) that utilize a remote laser beacon (either coherent or incoherent) and an optical receiver with CCD camera and embedded edge AI computer (Jetson Xavier Nx) for in situ evaluation of the path-averaged atmospheric turbulence refractive index structure parameter C-n(2) at a high temporal rate. Evaluation of C-n(2) values was performed using deep neural network (DNN)-based real-time processing of short-exposure laser-beacon light intensity scintillation patterns (images) captured by a TurbNet sensor optical receiver. Several pre-trained DNN models were loaded onto the AI computer and used for TurbNet sensor performance evaluation in a set …
